How the ranking is sorted

Stars alone will not do it. Nine of the 21 outfitters have more than 20 reviews; for the other 12, an average can rest on a handful of customers.

So the order below is a credibility rating rather than a star rating. Each outfitter's average is pulled toward the average of the whole field, and the more reviews behind it, the less it moves. A deep 4.8 finishes above a thin 5.0, and that is what the numbers support.

It is a verdict on the record, not on the birds, the ground or the dogs. The record is 533 Google reviews across 17 of the 21 outfitters, averaging 4.85, the newest posted June 24, 2026. We sell these hunts, so count the one-star reviews too: seven.

How much does a guided quail hunt cost in Tennessee?

Thirty-two of the 54 packages publish a price you can compare, and those 32 come from 12 of the 21 outfitters. Comparable means the outfitter's own figure for one complete hunt, at the unit he publishes it in. The other 22 price by the bird or by the day, or print nothing at all.

The 32 run $250 to $6,500, and the middle is $500. The two ends are not the same unit: $250 buys one gun an introductory hunt, and $6,500 is a full day for up to four guns with a night's lodging. Read the unit before you compare two numbers.

Two of the prices below need a second gun to exist. Windy Hill Farm & Preserve's $400 per hunter and Baggenstoss Farms' $365 per gun both carry a two-hunter minimum, and neither is a price one hunter can book.

The $500 is the hunt, not the day. A nonresident needs Tennessee's seven-day small game licence at $61, or $110 for the year; a resident's combination hunt and fish licence is $33. TWRA publishes the fees.

That puts the middle hunt at $561 with a week's licence on it, before you tip the guide. Whether you need a licence where you are hunting is a question our data does not answer, so ask the outfitter before you buy one.

What comes with it

Fifty-three of the 54 packages say what they include, and dogs lead: 44 of the 53 put dogs in the price and 40 put a guide in it. Meals are in 19, meat processing in 17, lodging in 12.

Nine list no dog, and those are the ones to read closely if you do not own one. Two rent guns, which is the field that decides where a first-timer without a shotgun can book at all.

Preserve or wild

Most of this is preserve hunting, and the state's wild season is not the one that governs it. Tennessee's wild quail season runs November 7, 2026 to February 28, 2027, with a daily limit of six birds; Meadow Brook Game Farm publishes a preserve season of November 1 to March 15, and Craig Game Preserve mid-October to April 1.
