I worked with their Concierge service to make our son and fiancée’s elopement a memorable experience since I could not be there. I had a custom cutting board shipped directly to Windy Hill and they graciously and beautifully arranged a very elegant charcuterie and bottle of champagne upon their arrival. They were so responsive, kind, and attentive to my emails and called me to confirm all the details I requested before their arrival. They even emailed me pictures of the cutting board and personalized card after they received it! I would HIGHLY recommend Windy Hill even though I didn’t actually stay there but want to some day as their customer Concierge service is incredible! People make the difference! Thank you Windy Hill for all you have done and will be doing to make their elopement a perfect memory!!

Windy Hill Farm and Preserve is an absolute gem that masterfully balances rustic charm with luxury. The hospitality here is unparalleled; the staff is exceptionally attentive and warm, making you feel truly welcome from the moment you arrive. Especially in the Dining Room and front office at check in. At the heart of it all is the owner, Stephen, whose passion and presence create a wonderful, personal atmosphere that permeates the entire property. We are staying for three days on a drive north and will definitely return next year. The culinary experience alone is worth the trip. Chef Ben is a true visionary who deserves national acclaim; his imagination and skillful use of fresh ingredients from the garden result in meals that are nothing short of outstanding. Additionally, the activities are terrific; particularly the skeet shooting class, which is professionally handled and immensely enjoyable. Also the cooking demonstration in kitchen is fun and informative. Whether you are looking for relaxation or adventure, Windy Hill is a first class destination.

Nice location for live outdoor music

My friends and I went there for dinner, we did not stay in any of the cabins. Beautiful place for sure, but beware if you are going there just for dinner, you will be hit with a 20% (resort fee?) service charge on top of the already pricey meals. That’s one sure way to scare off the locals, if that’s what they want to do. The staff was very helpful and friendly, but the price you pay for just “dinner out” there is not worth it. (If you are splitting your check, allow plenty of time also, as that was a painfully long process.)

wonderful experience! the landscapes and views were beautiful. food was delicious and server Gabriela was so sweet and very attentive.

Me and my husband went this past weekend and were just overwhelmed with gratitude for this place! We live in Farragut and drove for dinner to celebrate my birthday & wow, outstanding staff who feel like instant friends! Acacia was our server and she was over the top amazing and so lovely. We look forward to being back and 100% will ask for her next time!! Truly felt like we were at our home!
★★★★★
Acacia was amazing and her daughters are basketball stars. She was an wonderful hostess and 6th grade basket coach against overwhelming male odds- for our valentines dinner. Thank you for making the experience so enjoyable and btw the food was good too.

1 star all around. Rooms and location are nice, employees are fantastic, but management is absolutely awful. This is the most unprofessional establishment I’ve ever had the displeasure of staying at. This is not because of the employees, it is strictly because of the management.

I booked a quail hunt at Windy Hill. My customers and I have hunted at many different preserves and agreed Windy Hill ranks at the top. Zach was amazing and the dogs were incredible! Covey size varied from singles to 30 birds. It was more than a hunt it was an experience. The food and bar were excellent as were all the staff. I will definitely be bringing my wife here for a weekend!

Really special place

From the moment we arrived at our cabin (Hope Creek), we were enchanted. Turkeys and deer greeted us outside our floor-to-ceiling windows, and before we left, we even spotted a bald eagle! We were welcomed with champagne and a gorgeous cheese board as part of the couples package—a lovely touch that set the tone for our stay. The cabin had floor-to-ceiling windows that offered fantastic views of the property, and the accommodations were thoughtfully appointed with refillable water bottles at each bedside (with refilling stations around the property), luxurious robes, huge bath sheets, extra pillows and blankets, and hooks everywhere for towels and wet jackets—practical details that didn’t go unnoticed. The Windy Hill signature scent (a blend of oak, bergamot, and bourbon) can be found throughout the property and is absolutely divine. Also, the playlist at the Watchhouse and Wilder is a total vibe! Now, let’s talk about the food. Chef Ben is an absolute treasure. We consider ourselves somewhat snobby about food, and he and his culinary staff knocked it out of the park for every single meal. The grits and gravy with pimento at breakfast were a standout, and the fresh fruit bowl was huge, fresh, and colorful. The smash burger at lunch is one of the best we’ve ever had. We sampled everything on the dinner menu, and not one item was underwhelming. Our favorites included the lightly fried gulf oysters in shallot and vinegar sauce, the redfish, the pan-fried trout (those root vegetables were like a rich pot pie filling—incredible!), the crispy venison, the butterscotch budino, and the oatmeal cookie sundae. As on-site guests, we never had to choose between meal options—they let us order whatever we wanted, which meant we enjoyed all the starters, all the small plates, plus two entrees and two desserts our first night! The staff even brought us complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. It rained the entire weekend, but the staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Golf carts were always available to shuttle us to meals and activities, umbrellas were abundant, and the fire in the Watchhouse provided a cozy reprieve from the dreary weather. I had an in-room massage with Erin that was amazing, and we spent a lovely Saturday morning sitting by the fire in the Watchhouse enjoying champagne. My husband did the Five-Stand with Zach and loved exploring the farm. There are five walking trails ranging from .3 miles to over 2 miles, all accessible right from your cabin door. It’s a stunning piece of property, and they have staffed it really well. As a new establishment, Windy Hill is still fine-tuning some of the smaller details. There weren’t any utensils in the room, which would have been nice for any in-room dining (stirring coffee, enjoying food to-go, spreading jam and soft cheeses from the charcuterie board, etc.). There also wasn’t any creamer option in the room (though the mini fridge could easily accommodate this). After the rain, outdoor chairs weren’t wiped down. Would the staff have fixed these things immediately with a phone call? Absolutely. But when you’re creating a luxury experience, it’s those proactive touches that make guests feel truly special (and will keep them coming back!). That said, there’s plenty of grace for a new property finding its rhythm, and they absolutely nail all the big things: hospitality, comfortable accommodations, incredible food and beverage, and genuinely helpful staff. And we really appreciated the built-in service fee so we didn’t have to think about a thing all weekend long. Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. While the nonstop rain kept us from enjoying as many activities as we’d hoped, the delightful staff made sure our stay was comfortable despite the weather. We will absolutely be back. As Knoxville residents, we are so excited to have this gem in our backyard and can’t wait to watch Windy Hill continue to grow and refine their already impressive offerings!

The grounds are lovely and the restaurant serves excellent food. You can sit indoors or out. It is definitely worth visiting at least once. Rooms are available, but we didn't stay over.

I truly cannot say enough amazing things about the weekend we just spent at Windy Hill. My husband and I had one of the private cabins, which was immaculately clean and very spacious. The bed was a smidge firm for my taste but very comfortable, the sheets soft, the unobstructed view of the hill and the falling leaves from bed delightful. And our cabin was virtually silent (you can hear the occasional gunshot during the daytime hours of the quail hunts, but it was sporadic and enough distance that it wasn’t too loud or intrusive, though do keep this in mind if you or your dog is sensitive to gunshot noise), making it an incredible peaceful stay. The food at the restaurant was phenomenal, and I just can’t say enough good things about the service. I have complicated medical issues with a strange and long list of food allergies and intolerances, and the chef was so accommodating—both nights, based on my preferred main course he whipped me up a special off menu dish to make sure that I could get something that I was truly excited about eating. The pastry chef also made modifications to ensure that I was able to have dessert, which I rarely can eat at restaurants. The breakfast was also top notch—make sure to order scrambled eggs fresh from the on site chickens, as they were vibrant yellow and truly delicious. Everyone who works there is so friendly and bubbly that I joked with my husband they must have to take a full psychological evaluation before being hired to ensure maximum kindness and positivity as personality traits. There are a few minor things they could do to improve the experience—the shades in the cabin weren’t opaque and the curtains couldn’t be drawn across the window so blacking out the windows to sleep in wasn’t an option; there is no ice maker available to guests or in the in room fridge so if we wanted ice, we had to take empty cups to the restaurant when we went for meals so they could give us some from the bar; we paid extra for the cabin with the outdoor shower, but they didn’t inform us the outdoor shower is seasonal and wouldn’t be available for our stay; they didn’t tell us parts of the trail are closed during the upland hunt hours so our hike was unexpectedly cut short. But I offer these notes solely in the spirit of “room for growth”, as none none of these issues were a big enough deal to detract from the overall phenomenal service and truly restorative experience of staying here. We will absolutely return again. Thank you, Windy Hill, for an amazing—phenomenal, in case I haven’t said it enough!—anniversary getaway!

This place is a must stay!! The staff are so wonderful and helpful and property is absolutely gorgeous! There are a ton of activities to do and the food is excellent! The cabins are incredibly spacious and luxurious while still giving that woodsy nature feel. The mattress and sheets were the most comfortable I think I have ever slept on in a hotel. I’m pretty sure they use Comphy sheets which is what I have at home that I LOVE. And they have nice privacy shades and a cute record player in all the rooms. They also have great live music! Will definitely come back!!

The location was nice and the food was good. I was just confused on why there was a service fee in addition to the tip expected on my receipt.

Went for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This place is a hidden gem!! The food was incredible. Highly recommend doing the tasting menu one night. The service was outstanding. They made everything so personalized and were very accommodating. The scenery is breathtaking. We did so many fun activities! We hiked, biked the property, kayaked the Tennessee River, learned about coffee and beekeeping, toured the garden, did wood burning, ax throwing, and archery. The people working there really make the experience too. Amanda, the master gardener, was so nice and sent us home with seeds from the garden and book recommendations! Cindy was a joy to get to know and made the ax throwing and beekeeping and wood burning so fun and enjoyable! Jen had a wealth of knowledge about coffee and was so easy to talk to- highly recommend trying her Wilder White on the coffee menu!! And Acacia was our favorite server who felt more like a friend by the time we left. Can’t recommend this place enough.

My girlfriend and I spent two fantastic nights here with our dogs for her birthday. Windy Hill went above and beyond to make it a great one. They upgraded us to a cabin. It was the furthest one back which meant the most privacy, closest to the trail, and the best view. The cabins are beautifully set up with giant windows so you can either enjoy the view inside or on the porch. There are two showers, inside and out. Each is very roomy. The outdoor shower gets pretty warm, but you can get piping hot water inside. The cabin had surprising amenities - the fridge had complimentary soft drinks, house chips and dip. There was even an umbrella, clothes steamer, and wine opener. The staff is more than accommodating with their electric carts, taking our bags to the cabin and showing us views of the river. Even without the carts, the trails are very easy to navigate on foot. We were lucky to have planned our kayaking on a day when the river was very calm. A must do if you visit the farm. As far as Wilder goes, there were a few fishes that stood out. Pan fried fluke - I inhaled this dish because it was that delicious. Yellowfin crudo - melt in your mouth sushi style fish. Brussels salad - delicious. Also housed this dish immediately. Confit chicken - the most tender chicken I’ve ever had. Scallop - tender and perfectly charred. Redfish sandwich - delicious sandwich that hits the spot. Would pair great with a beer Fries - fresh cut, restaurant style, not overly salted Great food service - if you plan to split something they divide it on plates in the kitchen. Only suggestions - while they accommodate food allergies and restrictions, I’d like to see more transparency on the preparation of dishes. For example, I didn’t know the breakfast potatoes would be heavily candied. The quail I expected to be roasted but it was deep fried. Overall, I would definitely be back since the place seems to change with the seasons and I’d like to try their other menus.

Upon entering, the strong smell of mold was immediately off-putting. The lack of a hostess to greet us left us feeling unattended, and overhearing someone berating staff from a back room created a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Observing greasy dust on the light fixtures above the bar and cobwebs on the dining room beams further reinforced concerns about the establishment's cleanliness. While the food may be exceptional, the unsanitary dining environment, the unprofessional treatment of staff, and the absence of a proper welcome were enough to make us decide to leave before ordering. We did appreciate the valet's prompt and friendly greeting when we arrived.

Just had the wonderful experience of participating in the opening day Dove hunt at Windy Hill. Everything was at or above my expectations, which were already pretty high after having dinner there on another occasion. From the transportation to and from the Dove Field, the fantastic food, beer and snack snacks during and after the hunt and nicely equipped cleaning station, there wasn’t anything left out. I can’t recommend this place enough and it’s definitely a hidden gem, not just for Loudon, because this place is impressive on a much broader scale. We didn’t stay here this time, but will certainly make it a point to do so. Even though we live close, this is a great weekend getaway.

I have one gripe with Windy Hill.. ..That being the Marketing team’s complete underselling of this place! From minute one when we were greeted by Jack at the door, we were treated with the upmost care and respect (Disney could never). Throughout our stay, we were constantly doted on and treated as the highest priority. The staff were all polite, courteous, polished, and knowledgeable. The food, from that delicious white coffee to the absolutely gorgeous elk chop were prepared with care and a delicate artistic touch. The activities, guides and coordinators were all spot on. I never felt rushed or pressed. We always felt in control and involved in all of the goings on around us. The room we stayed in was beautifully decorated with super comfy bed and plenty of space. The AC unit was quiet and worked well, and the mini fridge was fully stocked, they even included refillable water bottles for us to carry around. Relaxation was our top priority with our stay here, and we definitely achieved that with the in-room massage and stretch and release in the morning sunlight. Cindi was super kind to my spouse and I, and was very encouraging for my wife to face her fear of bees with the beekeeping activity.

Paradise! I always have the most magical time at Windy Hill Farm and Preserve. The accommodation, food, and service are just incredible. I feel rejuvenated and uplifted every time I am at and have been at Windy Hill. This is also the most incredible location to enjoy time with friends and loved ones in the most unique and exquisite family home and farm I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. This place is a gem in North America, and the Restaurant Wilder is one of my top two favorite restaurants in the world. Exceptional. Oh, and if you like gardening, check out the organic home-grown kitchen gardens or take a tour with the head gardener! If you are an artist, this place has the magic and alchemy you need to do your best inspired work.

Truly a remarkable property and experience. A hidden gem. We were legitimately blown away. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fantastic. The activities were great. Don’t sleep on the beekeeping! We stayed in a water tower cabin — everything was perfect. A really comfortable bed, thoughtful amenities, etc. My pregnant wife and I booked 3 nights here just based on the reviews and how much we enjoy the area. Everything exceeded our expectations. The food and hospitality are world class. You’ll have a great time. This is a special place. Specific shout out to Cindy, Jackie, Mikey, Acasia (so sorry if I spelled that wrong) and the rest of the team that made our baby moon so special. We will be back.
