My wife and I went on our first upland hunt ever for pheasant and quail today. We have hunted dove in Texas before we moved to Tennessee but this is the only other bird hunting we’ve done so we are new to say the least. Our guide was Hayes, he and his dogs Mike and Belle were awesome. Hayes was helpful for us first timers and kept us feeling good the entire time. Mike and Belle were wonderful to watch. Their noses are amazing. My wife and I managed to get three pheasants and four quail! Not knowing how to pluck or skin the birds we had them cleaned for us. Devin was great, he did a phenomenal job cleaning the birds and he even asked if we wanted the tail feather from our first rooster which of course we did! I highly recommend Cedar Rock Hunting Preserve. My wife and I will absolutely be back and will be asking for Hayes!

Incredible experience. My son & I got 5 Pheasants and 7 Quail. We had a guide and a dog. I never imagined that I could have this quality of a hunt so close to home. You want to go hunting with your son and have a great experience? Then this is it. If you live in Nashville and like to bird hunt - you've got to do it. Our guide Hayes and his dog Mike were the best. I can't say enough about it.

The folks here are very welcoming and enthusiastic to help create a memorable hunting trip. Katherine Polluck is doing a wonderful job organizing the hunts and making the farm a great place to go. It’s also a good environment to train your dog or any youth hunters. We will definitely be coming back!!!

We came to Cedar Rock for our first quail hunt here. We had a great hunting experience, very nice. We hunted with our guide Aaron and his dogs Rocket and Libby. Great working guide and dogs. If you have a chance to hunt at Cedar Rock hunting preserve I would do it, a great morning or afternoon of fun. They have lots of options. Thanks guys Stan and Russ

First let me say Katherine was very nice and helpful but the hunt was not good. We will not be back. We did a self guided hunt. The birds would not fly. At one point my wife actually had to bump one of the birds with her shotgun to get it to fly so another guy in our party could shoot it. I also had my dog retrieve three that never flew and just ran into the woods. (Yes you read that correctly my dog got credit for three of our birds) Also in the self guided fields they kept telling us to go into the woods to look for birds. (We paid for four pheasant along with our quail and we killed one, “According to cedar rock they probably just flew into the tree line.”) Number one in the woods was a large amount of trash, old printers, metal post, bird cages, and other random pieces of junk. Number two the woods were so incredibly thick that there was one narrow path to walk down. The path was wide enough for one person. I shot a quail and a pheasant in the woods. Both times my dog retrieved them and I could not see him once he went into the brush bc it was so thick. I was really looking forward to a place I could run my experienced gun dog as we are newer to the area. However this is not the place. It does no good to hunt birds that have not be raised correctly and will not fly. Total waste of money. I did receive my refund from cedar rock as a result of my experience. I am thankful for that and it shows their good character. I hope they can work through the issue listed above because they have an excellent staff.

★★★☆☆
Was good enjoyable hunt . Great staff . First time ive ever paid for a guided hunt. As a hunter for over 30 yrs . I understand that animals are still animals rather rasied in a pen or not . The quail hunting was great and the we did manage to kill all 3 of the chuckars we paid for . Hiwever we only seen 3 of the 6 pheasants and inly got to shot at 2 the other one was flying in a distance . Was a little disappointed about the pheasents because ultimately that what i came for and we only killed 1 and had a oppurtunity at 2.

I've hunted this place twice. It's a great way to get your dog experience hunting pheasants and quail. The staff are friendly and helpful. The land is laid out for easy access and good cover for the birds. Would like to go back. Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed!

Took my dog out yesterday and we'll definitely be back. Great setup with multiple fields. Laid out so it's easy walking, but still plenty of rows for birds to hide and allow the dogs to work. Staff is top notch. Everyone is extremely helpful and nice people. Can't wait to get back out there.
