Our operation is built around years of hands-on scouting and an intimate understanding of this rugged backcountry. We rely on fit, mountain-seasoned horses and mules to efficiently cover country, reach remote basins, and stay mobile in terrain few hunters ever access. Mature rams are notoriously difficult to locate in this unit. Their range is vast, steep, and physically demanding, requiring patience, persistence, and the ability to adapt daily. Our proven scouting efforts and on-the-ground experience allow us to focus on high-quality rams while maximizing your time and energy in sheep country. This is a fully mobile bighorn sheep hunt. We use horses to move through multiple hunting areas and establish lightweight spike camps as conditions and ram movement dictate. This approach keeps us flexible and effective throughout the hunt while minimizing pressure on any single area. Licenses for this hunt are available exclusively through the primary draw process. This is a physically and mentally challenging hunt, and opportunity often requires the determination to stay in the field for the duration of the hunt, potentially in inclement weather. We provide caring and knowledgeable guides, hearty food, and accommodations in either comfortable canvas wall tents or light spike camps, depending upon the situation. We will utilize horses to cover country and will stalk or setup on foot.

Each drop camp features a fully furnished canvas wall tent setup, including cots, heat, cookware, tables, chairs, and all essential camp equipment. You’ll enjoy the comfort of a well-established base camp while maintaining the freedom and flexibility of a self-guided hunt. Once game is harvested, there’s no need to worry about the pack-out. We will transport your meat back to the trailhead, we can also drop it off at a local cooler so the meat stays fresh while you continue hunting.
A Colorado Shiras moose hunt is one of the rarest and most exciting big game opportunities in North America.
