How Much Does a Guided Quail Hunt Cost in Tennessee?

What $60 and $6,500 actually buy

The $60 hunt is not a discount version of the $6,500 hunt. It's a self-guided grounds fee: you pay to walk released birds on your own, no guide, no dog handler, a different product tier entirely from a guided hunt. A few of the other low prices in this set tell the same story. A grounds fee, a guide fee, priced and sold as if it were the whole hunt, when it's a piece of one.

The $6,500 hunt is a flat rate for a full day, up to four hunters, with an overnight stay included. It's a party price, not a per-person one; divide it by four hunters and it's cheaper than several of the guided per-person packages sitting in the middle of the range. One more number in this set worth flagging: at least one of the 35 is an annual membership fee, not a single day afield. Read every price here for what it's a price of, not just what it says.

Every one of the 52 packages is northern bobwhite quail, Tennessee's state game bird and the only quail species anyone's actually selling a hunt for in this state. (The broader taxonomy also covers California, Gambel's, Mearns and Scaled quail; none of the four have a single Tennessee listing.) Two businesses that technically matched the search were left out of that count: a Nashville event venue and a wedding venue, both listing an unpriced "hunt" package buried under review after review about weddings and graduations. Neither is, in substance, a hunting operation, and cutting them didn't move a single price above; neither had one.

What the price covers

Across the 51 packages that list any inclusions at all, dogs come with 84% of them and a guide with 75%. Meals are included on 35%, meat or bird processing on 33%, lodging on 20%. Clay shooting, transportation, a weapon rental and alcohol show up further down, each on fewer than one package in six. Ask what's not on that list before you book: a $675 median with no dog and no guide is a different hunt than a $675 median with both.

Season, and who actually needs a license

Tennessee's statewide wild bobwhite quail season runs November 7, 2026 through February 28, 2027, bag limit six. Most of what's priced on this page isn't that hunt. It's preserve, shooting-preserve, hunting, and preserves set their own season, generally longer at both ends than the wild one, running from as early as October to as late as April depending on the property. The state's base small-game license, $9 to $305 depending on residency and term, covers the wild season; most preserve hunting is license-exempt, so check which one you're booking before you assume you need a tag.
