What a guided duck hunt costs

Prices split two ways that don't compare directly. Some are per hunter: $450 at J&S Migrators for an early-season teal hunt, sold by the head. Others are a party buyout — Primm Springs Wildlife Co. books four days at $4,800 on a two-person minimum and a longer trip at $14,400 on an eight-person minimum, and G2G Hunting's biggest package is $16,000 for four days covering up to eight guns. One is what you pay. The other is what the whole blind pays. Check which you're reading before you flinch at the number.

Across the 13 packages priced comparably the middle is $3,900, with a quarter at $1,600 or less and a quarter at $12,000 or more. The rest are day rates or call-for-quote. None of it covers your license, tags, travel or the tip.

When you can hunt, and how many you can take

Tennessee's 2026–27 duck season runs three windows, all shotgun-only. Early wood duck and teal opens September 12 and closes September 16. The main season opens November 28–29, then reopens December 5 and runs to January 31.

The daily limit is six ducks with caps inside it: no more than 4 mallards (2 hens), 3 wood ducks, 3 pintails, 2 canvasbacks, 2 redheads, 2 black ducks and 1 mottled duck, plus 15 coot and 5 mergansers (2 hooded). You can hold three days' worth in possession.

What you have to buy and bring

A Tennessee nonresident license is required no matter who's guiding you: $61 for seven days of small game and waterfowl, $214 for seven days that also covers big game. Only steel or another approved non-toxic shot is legal — lead is out. And your shotgun has to be plugged to three shells.
