This area has been draw only for archery elk tags since 2020 and has a good elk population. Archery bull elk tags can be drawn with 0-1 points. This area is steep and rugged but holds a lot of quality animals and is an amazing place to hunt.

We offer drop camps in the Lizard Head Wilderness area and in a non-motorized area of unit 71, this is through a special use permit with the USFS. The camp will be accessed using horses and mules. The camp setup will put you in the middle of some of the most amazing country and right in the middle of the elk. Camps will include everything you need for your hunt but will be simple and functional. We have 1 camp setup for groups of 3-4 hunters and separate camp for groups of 1-2 hunters. We are currently just offering these camps for archery and muzzleloader seasons.

This hunt is for 140"-170" trophy mule deer with bigger possible. This hunt is a hunt only option we do NOT provide accommodations or lodging; clients can stay in nearby hotels or there is a lot of nice Airbnb rentals in the area.
