If you are considering a western hunt for elk, antelope, or deer my advice is to stay clear of this operation. I have done 4 antelope hunts and 14 elk hunts along with many for deer and can honestly say this is the worst outfitter. Several of us in camp shared the same opinion. The accommodation is a terrible run down, old and falling apart rural farm house with windows that are cracked. Very drafty. Furniture is old with a bad odor. Beds are just mattress bunks with 5 beds to a small room with no room to move around at all. They are loud to turn in when sleeping and wake up other hunters if you attempt to get out of them. The food is terrible, unless you like canned carrots and boiled chicken. Our group nicknamed it immodium outfitters as several of the hunters had diarrhea for most of their hunt including having to stop many times in the fields while trying to hunt which disrupted the hunt. We were booked on a 5 day archery elk hunt and on day 2 a group of three guys arrived at around midnight to disrupt the whole camp. This was three of Terry Trumble's friends from Montrose to come and rifle coyote hunt. These 3 guys (not paying) set out to rifle coyote hunt and use predator calls while we were archery elk hunting. This was not appropriate when we were paying $6500 for our 5 day hunt. I approached Terry about this and he advised that they were there to evaluate his New Mexico lease as Terry was giving them the landowner permits in exchange for use of one of the coyote hunters land in Montrose, CO to guide on. When I asked the owner of that land why he was doing the swap he said "the hunting is not that good for elk on my place". Interesting, as Terry tried to sell us a hunt at the Montrose place for next year.....didn't make sense to our group. Finally, our guide would bring beer with to the field and would often drink while calling in elk and on our ride home from the field we hunted he would open a few beers and drink them while driving us back to camp. Not professional at all for an outfitter. Myself as well as my friend would never return even if the hunt was free. Poorly ran and lack of concern for safety. There are many many outfitters in Colorado who run a much more solid operation. It's sad that out of all the elk hunts that I have done this is the ONLY outfitter that I would never return to.

This team has a great group of guides who know their way around and how to hunt. Not only that they have good land to hunt on. With a couple hogs coming off their property, but it’s an all out fun original camp experience in the process of finding your trophy game! Thanks for helping me fill my tag.
