We had an amazing time - the horses were great, my wife and boys were in awe of the views, and the two hours flew by. Thank you for all involved in making this experience so special.

Our guide, Brad, and the horses from this outfitter were wonderful hosts. The trail was challenging and interesting enough for me but the horses were so safe for those with little experience. Brad is such a wonderful conversationalist and knowledgable about the area! We will definitely be returning in the Spring!

★★★★★We're from Germany and went on a road trip out west last year (CO, WY, SD, ND, MT, UT). We came through Red Lodge and booked the horseback riding with Elk River Outfitters, a 2 hr ride. Still, even after exactly one year now, we don't know how to put it into words. It was the most breathtaking and most beautiful experience we've done so far and definitely THE highlight of our US trip. Our guide Brad was super nice and was guiding us through the wonderful landscape with a lot of information about the surrounding mountains and nature, while we were enjoying it to the fullest on the backs of Blackfoot and Poco, two beautiful and lovely horses. My girlfriend dropped her sunglasses during the ride and Brad came back to pick them up for her, which was very kind. For us, it's been a "once in a lifetime experience", which we will definitely do again :D If you're somewhere around Red Lodge (e.g. Germany ;) ), don't think about it twice: book a ride with Elk River Outfitters and be amazed!! On the day of the ride, we were greeted by Brad, and a group of well-tacked horses ready for us. Brad guided us along scenic Rock Creek and up to a beautiful vista. He was a fantastic guide, extremely informative, personable, and attentive to each rider's ability. Our group of four consisted of two professional riders and 2 complete amateurs, and Brad had a way of making the experience fantastic for each of us. Thank you Brad for a true taste of the west. ★★★★★Great trails through woods,meadows with wildflowers in bloom, pristine creek crossing, and magnificent Mountain View of 7 different mountain ranges in big sky.on surefooted horses and a skilled wrangler you can trust to take care of you no matter your level of experience.. The only thing I might suggest is getting a mounting deck as it makes it easier to slip gently on on the back of both horse and trail guide when some of us who are heavy with bad knees have a hard time getting on.

Our guide was knowledgeable, and helped all of us as we learned to ride. The views were spectacular! The creek crossing was super fun and by far the highlight for me. Support this fantastic family owned business as soon as you can- it’s worth it!
