What's the cheapest pheasant hunting outfitter in Tennessee?

The cheapest number is a fee, not a hunt

Payne Quail Farm's $60 is a grounds fee per shooter on a non-guided hunt. It buys you the field, not the birds. R and D Adventures' $65 is a half-day guide fee, the same shape. Cedar Rock Hunting Preserve's $250 is a minimum bird purchase for a self-guided hunt — the first number on the list that includes something to shoot at.

Fully-priced guided hunts start at $300 a shooter, at Payne Quail Farm's own Guided Pheasant Hunt and its Mixed Bag, with Sawbriar Hunting's half-day at $375.

What a Tennessee pheasant hunt runs in the middle

Across the 24 packages priced in a comparable rate the median is $640. The rest are day rates or not priced yet. One package sets the $8,250 ceiling on its own: Parker's Outfitting's European Pheasant Tower Shoot, booked as a single group of 12 to 36 guns.

No license needed — with two exceptions

Tennessee doesn't require its standard hunting license for a pheasant hunt at a licensed game preserve; the preserve's own commercial permit covers it, which is most of why the bottom of this list is genuinely that cheap. Two things put the license back on you: a preserve that also holds naturally occurring wild game inside its boundaries, or one that sits on a state Wildlife Management Area. Worth a call before you book the cheapest option, not after.
