Archery Elk Hunts (September Rut Season) starts the first weekend of September, best bugling mid-to-late September. Rifle hunts also available. Valid non-resident elk tags, excluding non-resident junior mentored elk tags, can also be used to take a bear, mountain lion, or gray wolf (when in season in the same unit).
