I had been hearing great things about Winghaven for several years. All those things were true. Russell and Michele run an amazing facility with great food, handlers, dogs, and lots of birds. As a pair of hunters we shot an average of over 90 birds per day in a wide variety of hunting fields.
This was my first time hunting anything but clays with a group of very experienced bird hunters. I had an amazing time and memories for life. Thanks to the Winghaven staff for the hospitality and family atmosphere.

Just got back from our second trip to winghaven. Hunting was very good our guides were Michael and Anthony, both were very good at their job and easy to talk to and we had lots of fun with them. Russell, Michelle and the rest of the group in the lodge did an excellent job with meals and a nice place to rest after a long day of hunting. can't wait to go back next season.

Our group had an Epic time at Winghaven Lodge last week. Russell & Michele were gracious hosts that truly made us feel welcome. The food, bourbon & cigars were outstanding and plentiful. Russel proved to be quite the troubadour as he entertained us in the evenings.
Accommodations were very nice, very roomy & comfortable and decorated as a lodge should be.
The quail hunting was truly spectacular, matched only by the great dog work and wonderful guides.
We'll be going back next year for sure!

Absolutely first rate. Russell, his wife and staff are incredibly gracious and will make you feel at home. The lodge is modern and comfortable. The food is excellent and you will never leave the table hungry. If you are a bourbon drinker, you will be amazed at the selection. For non bourbon drinkers, you have wine, beer and soft drinks. The cigar room is a great place to relax with a cigar and bourbon; you can watch the big screen while solving the problems of the world. The great room, next to the bourbon bar, has comfortable couches where you can watch the big screen or take a whirl on the karaoke machine. Our guide, Kevin, was first class as were all the dogs. This was our first visit but it certainly will not be the last.

We have a group of 15-18 hunters from Ohio that have been coming to western KY for many years at a different lodge. For several reasons we decided to try out a new place this year. This was our first year at Winghaven, and they did not disappoint. The lodge itself is nice...big gun room with plenty of storage. The bedrooms are simple yet clean, comfortable and roomy. Water pressure in the showers is a little low, but acceptable. The public spaces are casual with good lodge decor that invite you to sit back, relax with a good bourbon, and tell stories of the day. Speaking of bourbon....you will NOT get a better selection of bourbon ANYWHERE, let alone at a lodge in KY. Pappy, Blanton's, EH Taylor, Weller, etc....and the list goes on. Food was very good for a hunting lodge...not gourmet but was well executed (perfect med-rare steak) and plenty of it.
The hunting was excellent. 2 hunters in a field with your guide and dogs. Lots of birds out. Fields were well cared for which made for comfortable and safe hunting. Dogs worked well, and the guides were very enjoyable to hunt with. Thanks Agi and Juan!!!
Russel and Michelle (owner/operators) are great people to make every effort to give you a great experience all around.
Can't wait to come back next year.
