I will have to agree with Brian who posted a review as well. He is completely accurate. I took my son on a muzzleloader trip here a few years back for his birthday. I should have know it was a scam when I signed a policy that stated we could not leave a negative review or my credit card would be charged, ha, which is against the law. Beyond my better judgement we stayed because of his b-day and hunted the next morning. Absolutely no movement and no sign of deer. My son wanted to leave and go hunt our property in Maury county TN. That evening he shot the biggest buck of his life and in it didn't cost a dime. Please......just be for warned that if in you are going just to hunt then this is not the place to go

A great experience! Owner John Henry, guides Jesse and Bug were accommodating and very knowledgeable. At 67 years old they always had my best interest in mind along with considering my best chance for scoring a deer. The lodge was comfortable and clean. John Henry cooked up tasty deer camp comfort food which had everyone going back for seconds. I met and enjoyed conversatio n with other hunters. This is what a deer camp or lodge should be like. New friends made! I saw both bucks and does but didn't get a chance for a clean shot. Overall there were deer taken by by several of the hunters, including nice bucks. John Henry, guys, thanks for a great hunt and time.👍 I'll be seeing you next year. Joe

We Had a great Time! We were there for a 3 day Muzzle Loader deer hunt. In the time that we were there I saw 1 deer moving quickly downhill. That being said other hunters in our party saw at least 10 deer and 1 person in our group of hunters got a couple shots off but missed ( He did not have an inline). No deer were harmed by the Archery party before us or our group. Bug was 5 stars, I am partially disabled and his assistance was above and beyond expectations. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The Food: Im on a special diet so i only partook of the food on 1 day and it was pretty good. The other days i had brought my own food. The accommodations were great. We were on the 2nd floor the bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water in the shower. On other hunts i have been on we would see deer in the fields feeding on our way out or on the road and we did not see any. Not saying they were not there, just that we saw none on the way to our stands. This was my 1st time hunting white tail deer. We mostly hunt black tail and mule deer in the west. The Deer hunt was 3 star the service was 5 star

Great place to go. John and Bug were amazing. Plenty of deer. Beautiful property. Highly recommend and we definitely be back.
★★★★★
First time ever crossbow hunting. Mr John and Bud were extremely accommodating! Very knowledgeable hunters of the 1000+ acres they manage. Bud put me on a prime spot on my second day, however just as the sun was coming over the ridge , I adjusted my head light a spooked a very nice deer about 20 yards from my ground blind. Lessons learned as a novice.

Well I'll start by saying if you're looking for a hunt where you pay for a buck by the score you want the rack to be on a high-fence ranch, and you're served meals by a gourmet chef... this isn't your place. That will cost you thousands of dollars more! If you are looking to actually HUNT for game on a 1300 acre property where they maintain food plots, feeders (except during season because that's illegal in TN), ground blinds, box blinds, and ladder stands... this is your place. Then at the end of the day come back to a very nice cabin (and usually to a great cooked meal for supper). It's an open property in Wayne County, TN which is among the best producing in the state for whitetail deer. I saw a big, big doe which never gave me a shot (atchery) on my first morning. I spooked up another doe walking out. My second morning I had fresh tracks inside of my footprints where I walked to my blind. There are definitely deer here. The rest is either up to luck or your hunting skills with calls, etc. John and Bug are outstanding hosts who will do everything they can to aid you in your hunting success. This was my second trip to Windsor Woods, and I will be back again.

John is a gentleman and a great host. My daughter and I had a lot of fun. He’s also a vet that deserves a ton of respect.

Came here to hunt white tail in November. John took care of my buddy and I and even provided us with some good home cooking. Couldn't ask for better service and expertise. The guides there were very knowledgeable and my guide, Bryce, took care of me and my friend. He knew a lot about the land and gave lots of tips.

If you're looking for a great place to hunt, this is it. They have plenty of stands in good places. If you want to hunt different spots, they can accommodate. I have been coming here for years and always enjoy my stays here!

Great place to hunt! Very nice facilities! Comfortable beds, nice bathrooms! Great lounge area! Nice to sit outside at night on the balcony! Very good rates! John and Michael were great hosts! They took good care of me! Served a very tasty supper that he won’t give me the recipe for! (It’s a family secret I think). Would highly recommend Windsor Woods Plantation! I will definitely be back! 5 stars! Tim Walker Nashville TN

My wife bought me a one day hunt to get out the house lol owners let me hunt the evening before the payed day after showing up early to sign the required paperwork. The outfitters have over 1000 acres of hunting land. The lodge was rustic and charming. All accommodations were clean and more then presentable. I didn’t harvest any deer, but I don’t hold that on them. The weather was horrible that weekend.

TN 2019 Youth Hunt: I could not have made a better decision. This was my first time using a hunting outfitter and Mr. John made the process easy. He answered all my question and provided realistic expectations of what services and hunting would be like. I couldn’t have asked for more. Bug (hunting guide)went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable experience for my son and myself. These men are genuine and personable and a joy to be around. The cost for the experience is a bargain. The accommodations, practices, and service are as advertised. Getting to know Mr. John and Bug is an added bonus. Will defiantly return for years to come. Thank you John for the approach and vision you take with your operation

We had a great time as a family hunting trip for turkeys. John and Bug allowed us to hunt anywhere on the 1000 acre farm. We killed 3 birds in 3 days and will never forget the memories we made. Thanks so much!

Contacted this outfitter about booking a hunt and the owner avoided and skirted around all important questions I had. When I asked about acreage he said he didn’t know although the website states the acreage however online Gis greatly conflicts what is posted on the website. The owner basically wouldn’t give me any straight forward answers on all the important questions I had, acreage, turkey harvested in previous years, etc. This place may be ok for the novice hunter who wants to just “hangout” but doesn’t seem like the destination for a serious hunter. The icing on the cake was that I was basically requested to bring a nice bottle of whiskey for the owner. Very unprofessional. Needless to say I avoided this place

Hunted here for four years now and every year gets better and better! Starting to think everyone in the group gets upset because I have crazy good luck when I hunt lol. We stayed from nov 7 to 11th and it was cold deer where moving, and without a doubt I missed a doe at thirty yards on the walk back to the lodge. I choose to walk for the exercise ya know.. me and the guys look forward to the trip and every year our group is getting bigger every time. Can’t wait for the next adventure At the beautiful hunting ranch!! BONES.

Fantastic outfitter! Awesome staff. Great clean, comfortable cabin. Feels like the atmosphere of a down home bed and breakfast. Huge variety of hunting spots, food plots, ponds. Windsor woods has it all. MUST HUNT HERE

I had a two day hunt here, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the woods, and with John and Bug. It was like meeting up with old friends. I did not get a deer--but that is hunting. I did see several, but it just didn't work out. Saw a flock of 8 big gobblers. Lodge is really clean, comfortable, and John as a host was great. I recommend, and I will be back again.
★★★★★
This place is great, and I have loved every moment. John and Bug do a great job of taking care of the land and hunters. The food taste great, and the cabin is warm with comfy beds. I have made many friends while staying here and even more memories. John and Bug really know what they are doing and can give great advice. I would recommend this place to any hunter looking for a great time.

I was able to purchase a 2 person, 2 day hunt at Windsor Woods from a high school football program auction. The hunt was donated to the program by John Henry Chrysler ( owner of Windsor Woods). My brother and I had a great time. The lodge is very cool. John and Bug were very hospitable. We had a good time cutting up at the campfire and met some new friends (Buddy and Phil). Lots of woods and some fields and food plots. I took a deer on the second morning. Great place for a group of buddies to have a good hunt and a good time. Thank you John and Bug. Brian Escue

If you're looking for a place that has great hospitality, easy to find, good prices and a great hunting atmosphere This is the place!!! Their stands are in the best possible places and the owner is good about showing you other places to hunt where you should see the best number of deer possible.

Went to deer hunt for a weekend in October at Windsor Woods. Didnt get to see any deer, this season has been very warm and has the deer off their normal schedule. But the weekend was relaxing and we had a great time with our hosts John Henry and Bug. The hunting lodge is beautiful and very comfortable. John Henry and Bug know the area very well and like to share information about the area with you. We will go back again. May go for a Turkey hunt come spring time.

Lots of stands and places to hunt. The food plots are plentiful.. Bug is a wonderful guide. John Henry really knows about hunting and is more than willing to give you tips and insight if you ask. Very friendly place and really affordable. This is our second trip to Windsor Woods. We will definitely be back.

Horrible experience. No one got anything. Poor accommodations. Lousy food. Don't waste your money.
