My husband and I had a great 5 days with the Wind River Outfitters crew and would definitely come back. We were looking for an easy way to go camping and fishing using horses without dragging all our camping gear through the airports. We got exactly what we wanted. While normally a hunting camp, they are starting to offer summer camp before the hunting season begins. It's a husband and wife duo with helping hands from family and friends. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and accomodating. Our days and nights were never short of good food, good stories and good laughs. It was also educational. We learned a lot from everyone about the area, the wildlife, the plant life, the livestock, hunting, Idaho, and the hosts and guests themselves. The camp and the daily adventures were exactly what we were seeking. The food was delicious with hearty breakfasts, packed lunches for adventures, and filling dinners with dessert. The coffee was always brewing when we woke up! The wall cabin tents gave it that pioneer feel with plenty of space and comfort. It had cots with foam pads we could pull together as a couple, a wood stove for heat, a propane lantern, and extra cots for organizing our stuff. They will bring your bags/gear to camp on a horse drawn sled so it doesn't have to be horse/mule packable. Your daily adventure gear does need to fit in pack horse panniers. The horses and mules were well trained and cared for with their individual personalities as were the family dogs running around keeping everyone company.
