Tim, Kim, and the entire Willow Creek team are absolutely fantastic! They treat you like royalty while making you feel right at home—like family. Our large group had a great time hunting quail, pheasant, chukar, and free-range deer. Watching the dogs work is always a highlight—they're beautiful, well-trained, and a joy to see in action! The food and accommodations? Simply WOW. Luxurious, comfortable, and perfectly suited for a group getaway no matter the size. Huge thanks to Willow Creek for the outstanding service and unforgettable experience. We can't wait to come back!

Went to Willow Oak Lodge for my Nephew’s wedding. Beautiful pavilion and seating for guests outside. You could see off into the valley. Quiet wooded area. You were shuttled from parking lot to the wedding venue, and also shuttled back to the tented dining area. Friendly staff. Lodge also offers stay in their cabins or lodge for deer, turkey hunting or fishing.

I’m not a big review guy, but I’ve not been able to shake our experience and I think I must so here we go. Our group of eight stayed at Willow Oak Hunting Preserve for a 3 nights two day turkey hunting trip for the first week of turkey season. We found the staff friendly which we appreciated. However, the main reason we came was for turkey hunting, and in that regard the experience was extremely disappointing. We were taken to hunt on cut-over land, but it seemed all the turkeys were on neighboring properties rather than on the preserve’s leased land. In two days of hunting, only one person in our group even got a shot (which he missed), and no one else even saw a turkey. The situation was so discouraging that we decided to leave early, skipping our scheduled afternoon hunt on the second day. The planning and logistics also left a lot to be desired. Each morning we had to drive about 45 minutes from the lodge, then take an ATV ride to reach the hunting spot. We were often placed near the property lines with very limited access to where the turkeys actually were, which further reduced our chances of a successful hunt. During downtime between hunts, there were no amenities or activities at the lodge. As far as food we didn’t even get three meals a day as expected. We only had two meals the first day, and we didn’t eat at all on the second day. Considering the premium price we paid, the experience did not match our expectations. While we appreciated the friendly people, the lackluster hunting and poor planning made it hard to justify the cost. Overall, we were disappointed that the service and results did not live up to the price tag. I do see willow oak responded, this is an honest review spoke to everyone in our party and was everyone’s mutual feelings before I reviewed. No need to try and attack character or place blame somewhere else that is not true. Great people but the review is about the hunting. With 16 hunters coming in a week and one bird that is not good business. Not enough birds to hunt and charge prime rate.

We have been to Willow Oak Lodge many times! We found this golden nugget three years ago and have come every year for Fire Flies and Fish Fries, fishing trips, and have stayed at their beautiful lodge and then went fishing at Bear Creek! The food is delicious, the Hortons are so nice and accommodating and the lodge is breathtaking!

I stayed at Willow Oak Lodge this year to turkey hunt and had a wonderful time. The lodge is stunning, food was delicious, and the hospitality is unmatched. I felt right at home. My hunting guide, Larry, was extremely knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience during each hunt. If you are looking for a lodge that you will want to return to year after year for turkeys and deer - I highly recommend Willow Oak Lodge.

We had a fantastic time hunting at Willow Oak. The lodge is beautiful and very accommodating. We turkey hunted on different properties that they own or lease (they have a bunch!), and they worked hard to get us opportunities. Tim and Kim, the owners, are gracious hosts who make sure that everything is going well and to your liking. We hope to plan another trip back in the future!

First timer here. Willow oak lodge and outfitting is a gem in NW Alabama. From the minute we arrived till the time we left we were treated like family ( in a good way lol). The lodge is modern and beautiful and the staff was friendly, experienced and wanting to make sure you have everything you need to insure your stay is memorable. The food was great which would explain how i gained 4 pounds while i was there! If you book an excursion here you wont be disappointed!
