My dad and I went on a one day trip on the Saint Joe from Avery to Marble creek as a grad gift and we highly recommend White Pine. Our guide was Tyler and he had us each hooked on at least 20-30 fish by the end of the day over a 9 hour float. As a beginner fly fisherman it was a really great learning experience and a fun day overall.

Our guide Muzzy was knowledgeable, safe, kind, and encouraging. I had never fly fished before and with his guidance and teaching I caught a 14 inch trout! When I snagged on one of the bridges… he did not make me feel silly.

If you don’t book a fly fishing trip with the White Pine Outfitters team, you are missing out. Tyler(owner) was our guide yesterday and as always provided an adventure second to none. Great weather, great fishing, and experience of a lifetime! We have fished with Tyler and his team for years and they out do themselves every time!

I know what you’re thinking- “is going out with White Pine worth the money?” Well I can assure you that it is. There is not a better team out there! Tyler sets the tone at the top and everyone else follows suit with excellent customer service and technical expertise.

We enjoyed a wonderful experience on one of the most beautiful rivers of the Western U.S., guided by friendly professionals who ensured our safety. Tyler and Patrick shared their love and knowledge of the fishery and the surrounding habitat and spoiled us with food and drink. And we were fortunate to boat many beautiful cutthroat. A forever memory.

Booked a 1 day and fly fishing plus camping experience with white pine. My group had never fly fished before but our guides Tyler and Patrick set us up for success. With their help we were able to bring in about 8 trout per person. Had a great time going down the St. Joes. Not only were they very knowledgable about fly fishing but they also knew how to prepare delicious camp meals. Would be interested in booking with them again.

Superstar day! April 27 was beyond memorable! Our guide, Patrick, was a superstar; guiding us to an average of 1 landing/ 20-25 minutes over 8+ hrs ON the water, AND provided a welcomed custom ‘fuel up’ on the banks of the Joe. We even had 3 incidents of landing doubles😳😂 He brought us into and repeatedly over so many productive pools that the intermittent wind, torrential rain and sleet were barely noticed😉😊. This was another outstanding float, just as we had had a year ago with Tyler. ‘Twas an exceptional outing, accompanied by a smooth booking process managed by Chelbee. Could not ask for better service or more excitement. Will definitely be back!!

We've hired White Pine two years in a row for early season floats on the Joe. Both trips exceeded our expectations. This year Patrick served a hot pulled pork taco lunch - Outstanding! And, of course, lots & lots of large, fat west slope cutthroat. Will definitely repeat!

We had an incredible experience with White Pine Outfitters. From the very beginning, the communication was clear, helpful, and made us feel fully prepared before even arriving. The guides were excellent - knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely fun to be around. Everything was well-organized, from the instructions to the equipment provided, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. The setting itself was absolutely beautiful, and the entire trip felt thoughtfully planned and seamless. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a well-run, memorable outdoor adventure.

My son and i recently booked a two day chukar hunt. We had a wonderful time. There were plenty of birds and the scenery was spectacular. Tyler did a great job putting us on birds and keeping us fed. We are looking forward to next year and booking another outing.

This place has provided me with a continual rotation of outdoor clothing for the past several years. I consign items regularly and end up using the profits toward other gear I find there. Win-win!

Tyler and the crew at White Pine Outfitters can't be beat! I've had the chance to do two separate overnight floats on the St. Joe with them, and both times I've left wishing the trip wasn't ending. Tyler and his team bring the perfect combination of knowledge, patience, and hospitality. The fishing is incredible, and they're willing and eager to ensure you have the experience you're looking for. On a single trip you can spend time throwing drys, fishing nymphs, and stripping streamers, and they work hard to ensure you're getting into cutthroat up and down the river. Most importantly, you're going to have a hassle free, fun time on a beautiful river catching great fish with awesome guides that you'll enjoy getting to know. If you have the chance to make it an overnight trip, go for it. The camp food is excellent and the time spent at camp both with your fishing buddies and the White Pine crew is guaranteed to leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. Hands down, Tyler and the White Pine team are the best guides I've fished with. If you go once, you'll find yourself immediately planning the next time you can get out on the water with the White Pine team.

I’ve been lucky enough to fish with guides in Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Utah, BC and California. Tyler and the White Pine team are the best I’ve fished with; period. We've done two overnight floats on the St. Joe plus a four‑day/three‑night run down the Wallowa and Grande Ronde with WPO. Each trip has been outstanding. Planning is friction‑free. Chelbee’s email threads cover flights, shuttles, lodging and food preferences in a single pass; nothing falls through the cracks. Questions are answered quickly. Guides who teach and hustle. The guide crew (Chelbee, Braeden, Bruce, Brittney, Dave, Doug, Matt and Tyler) rowed hard, swapped streamers, nymphs, or dry‑dropper rigs until we were dialed in; and they never stopped coaching. Cutthroat action on the St. Joe was the strongest I’ve seen in the West, and the canyon scenery on the Wallowa/Grande Ronde rivals the Bitterroot, St. Mary, Frying Pan, Middle Fork Salmon and Gunnison. Kid‑friendly approach. We first floated when our boys were 11, again this year at 14. The guides mixed casting tips with ecology lessons, kept them laughing during slow bites, and lit a spark that now has the whole family looking forward to fishing trips. I'm very grateful for this. Camp cuisine worth the trip. Breakfast burritos, veggie‑packed scrambled eggs, griddled flapjacks, build‑your‑own stream‑side sandwiches, lamb‑chop lollipops, pesto pasta, plus Dutch‑oven desserts with fresh whipped cream. Whiskey mules and locally sourced wine pair perfectly along the riverbank. They even packed my dad's favorite scotch. Experience design. Tyler, Sierra and the White Pine Team put so much thought and effort into the details of each trip. Ask them to show you their checklists. Focusing on the little things, good humor, and great fishing have made all three of our trips exceptional. Though we just got home, I'm already looking forward to our next trip with Tyler and White Pine Outfitters.

Incredible hunting, spectacular views I can’t say enough about the great hunting trip we had with White Pine Outfitters. This is the holy grail of bird hunting! We hunted for 3 days in Hells Canyon with our guide and owner Tyler and his two German Wirehaired Pointers. The base camp, set on a protected mountain top, has a rugged charm. I told my wife we were camping but when she found out we had heated tents, electricity and a chef she said it was more like glamping. Chef Dave was awesome. Three delicious, hot meals every day including killer brownies and homemade creampuffs with chocolate sauce. Tyler and his dogs were first in class. They put us on birds every day and lots of them. I haven’t done much wild bird hunting so I was surprised how large some of these coveys were… and just how difficult it is to take them down. These birds are wary and very fast. There is a reason they are called devil birds. We stalked these birds in some of the most beautiful, rugged, remote terrain in the world. You are out in the wilderness and the experience is incredible. I took this trip thinking it was a bucket list thing. But it is so incredibly beautiful out there I absolutely have to do it again. You know what they say about chukar hunting…the first time is for fun, but the next time is for revenge!

Highly Recommend! Fantastic trip down the St Joe with Tyler! He knows every bend of the river and safely guided us to the best Westslope Cutthroat Trout fishing spots. Tyler cheerfully assisted with gear and gave excellent feedback on casting and techniques. It was an unforgettable day.

Tyler and the White Pine team were amazing with our one day trip! My 13 yr old son and myself are new to fly fishing and flew out from Baltimore, so needed a few pointers! Tyler was patient and an excellent guide, conscientious and knowledgeable of the river, a great teacher for us. We caught over a dozen each on the amazing St. Joe and will definitely be booking another trip with them. I highly recommend White Pine!

I booked the five-day float on the Grande Ronde with Tyler Nash. It was nothing short of epic! We roped in big, healthy Rainbows, monster Bull Trout, and Steelhead. - also caught my personal best Rainbow. I would like to thank Tyler and the White Pine team for making this trip a memory I will forever treasure. Everyone did a stellar job of making the camp feel like a home away from home. I can also say I made new friends on this trip. I will be booking this trip every year.

I can't say enough great things about White Pine Outfitters! I've done two trips with them and both have exceeded all expectations. Each time I have learned so much more about fly fishing, caught a pile of fish, eaten amazing meals and had lots of laughs in-between. You will not be disappointed when choosing White Pine to guide you!

I was lucky enough to snag tyler for a day trip float and I am so glad that I did. From first contact with the shop through to the "last cast", the staff is professional, responsive and fun! That's what it's all about right? I brought a new angler with me and tyler took great care to ensure he not only had a great time, but also ensured that everyone in the boat progessed in our tactics and technique throughout the day. I went to the shop the day after my trip to grab some merch and stickers to spread the word. Book early if you can!

Can't say enough good things about Tyler and White Pine! The whole team is very communicative and accommodating- they definitely go the extra mile for clients! We did a day float and the fishing was incredible, the hot shore lunch was delicious, and we learned a lot as well. Highly recommend White Pine and I'm looking forward to more trips with them in the future!

Tyler and crew were incredible. I stayed two nights at camp, enjoyed a few beers and delicious dinners. Tyler and his crew of guides are a great group to hang out with. I had the pleasure of meeting Pat and Shelby on his crew, both of whom were incredibly knowledgable and enjoyable to be around. I consider myself a decent fly fisherman, yet in just one day on the water with Tyler and Pat, I easily doubled my fly fishing knowledge. In addition, we absolutely smoked the cutthroat on the St. Joe. I came to catch fish, and learned more in the process than I ever dreamed. Shore lunch was as gourmet as advertised, and the cheesecake desert was a great touch. The next time I'm in Idaho, there's no doubt White Pine's Outfitters and I will be on the water. If you have any reservations about booking them, please reach out to me. You will not have anymore after talking to me. Thanks again Tyler and Pat!

My dad and I did a day-trip fishing St Joe with Tyler and had a great time! We caught tons of fish, he was spot on with getting our flies in just the right spot to get bites, and a good conversationalist too. The lunch was delicious, he made us fresh street tacos and there were even little cheesecake deserts. Really phenomenal day!
