5-Day Guided Rifle Elk Hunt

Big Game Drop Camp Hunt

📅 Sep – NovUpper Camp is roughly an hour and twenty minutes ride in; bucks hold in the area through 2nd rifle season.
Drop Camps are great options for an elk hunt on a budget. There are several options here for guys to choose from. A drop camp hunt means pack animals transport you to a remote camp location deep in the wilderness, away from roads and developed areas. This setup enables hunters to access prime elk and mule deer habitat that would otherwise be difficult to reach. Unlike base camp hunts, drop camps offer a more authentic backcountry experience, often requiring more physical effort and self-sufficiency. Camps will be set up and supplied.

Western Colorado is known for some really incredible color phase bear. Our rifle bear season starts September 2 and runs through the month of September. You can easily draw a rifle bear tag or get the over the counter archery or muzzleloader tags. Some guys throw a bear tag on with their archery elk tag so if they tag out early they can go bear hunting. We have some really big bear and often find some great bear on our trail cameras. We offer 5 day bear hunts for $5000 with food and lodging and guide. We hunt bear over water or food sources and spot and stalk by glassing them up.

Hunting early-season trophy mule deer is an incredible experience. Bucks are in their summer patterns feeding and bedding. Sept 2 is our archery season opener and is when we like to pursue big velvet bucks. They are predictable and generally stay in their core summer routine. We spend our summers scouting and setting cameras to get these big high country bucks dialed in. So when you arrive, the homework is done, and we can focus on your target buck. Archery tags will take 3-4 points to draw or we have very limited landowner tag options for these as well. Being in good physical shape will help on this hunt; however, if you are not able to hike like you used to, we have places that you can get into and still find success. All Mule Deer hunts include a guide with food and lodging included for $8500.

Also, a great time to be hunting big bucks. Although you must use open sights still here in Colorado adding a little range over the stick and string is helpful. These hunts will take 3-4 points to draw. All Mule Deer hunts include a guide with food and lodging included for $8500.
Guided Rifle Trophy Mule Deer Hunt

Quality Mule Deer across the west have become highly sought after. With more and more people enjoying the sport and pursuing these incredible trophy's it has become much harder to secure tags consistently. This being the case West Elk Outfitters works hard to provide quality mule deer hunting opportunities. The Gunnison National Forest produces some of the biggest bucks each year. Our goal on these hunts is to find the biggest mature bucks for your tag usually trying to hold out for 170 inch deer or better.

Mountain Lion Hunts are a lot of fun. They can be very challenging also. WEO prides ourselves on high success rates so we don't take very many lion hunts. We provide everything for you on these trips. Lodging, food and transportation. You can even use a weapon we have. You just have to be able to get here when the getting is good. We run these hunts on a "call" basis. When we call you you better get here quick before conditions deteriorate. Contact us for more info and to book your spot. Don't wait on doing a lion hunt. With very Limited Quotas and activists trying to kill mountain lion hunting all together there is no better time than now to get your bucket list mountain lion.
