I have hunted at Water Valley every year for the last 11 years. The accomodations are outstanding, the food is excellent and the hunting guides are extremely helpful and friendly! We always see many deer and have had many successful hunts. Jake and family are fantastic hosts and they certainly know their business. We will continue to hunt here for as long as they will have us and the Good Lord allows it!

My father and I started going to Water Valley Lodge in 2002. We’ve gone back every single year since. Water Valley has everything you can ask for in a hunting outfitter. Opportunities for a monster buck? Check. Want to kill hogs? Check. Great food? Check. The best part of hunting with Water Valley Lodge is Jake and the atmosphere around his entire operation. Whether you’re a yankee from Buffalo, a midwesterner from Wisconsin, or a Florida man, you’ll never feel like an outsider. Jake is a former college history professor, and my favorite memories are sitting around the fire and discussing WWII battles. My first year was 2002 when I was 13 years old. I’m now 36 years old. I’ve seen all the monster bucks, either in my own field or on the van coming back to the lodge after a fellow guest killed their trophy. I cannot recommend hunting at Water Valley Lodge with Jake and his son, John Jacob enough. For the few years, we didn’t kill a deer. We still had the best time. You will too.

Hospitality was top notch, food was excellent (especially John's country fried steak), accommodations were good too. Weather was right. In my opinion, the place is heavily pressured so sightings were minimal. That said, it is fair chase and the end of season. If you go here you will be treated right and have a good time.

I had the opportunity to visit jake and pia at water valley lodge a couple of years ago and I guarandamtee you there are no two better people on the planet very family oriented and they go out of their way to be accommodating. Great food and fellowship and alot of land to hunt. I killed a 9pt 2 hogs and a doe fantastic trip but even if I'd not killed anything I would have still recommended this outfitter. Great people period.

Took a corporate group there in 2014. My company spent almost $20,000. Food and accommodations were top notch. The deer hunting was well below average. There was 1 guide for about every 6 to 8 hunters. Plots were over hunted and much of the land was sublease to other clubs. Could be a fantastic place if managed correctly.

One of the best hunting lodges in the United States! Can't say enough about their hospitality and service, but the game management and hunting is the best I've experienced in the last 25 years, and that includes Louisiana and Mississippi. If you're relatively crippled hunter as I am they go above and beyond to make your experience one to remember. Good Lord willing I can't wait to get back, and their staff and guides are the best around. I don't want to mention the food because their cooks are superb and I always eat too much. You won't leave their disappointed! Oh, they have some mighty big deer with beautiful racks! The hogs are pretty big also!
