We had an absolutely awesome time on our bird hunt at Valhalla Hunt Club! The location is beautiful and well-kept, making for a perfect day in the field. The staff was top-notch—courteous, honest, and genuinely committed to making sure everyone had a great experience. Whether you’re brand new to upland bird hunting or a seasoned hunter, I highly recommend this hunt club. If you decide to hire a guide, ask for James. His dogs are truly on point—disciplined, hardworking, and impressive to watch in action. He made the day fun, relaxed, and successful from start to finish. We’ll definitely be back!

We are first time bird dog owners and started taking our English Setter, Vaca, to puppy bird dog class when she was about 4.5 months old and recently started taking private lessons (with Lucas) around 6 months old. I felt that we received a really good foundation in puppy class from Scott and Lucas as we were taught how to do quartering, woah drills, and fetch drills and Vaca got time on birds. All in all, I didn't know what to expect in my first puppy bird dog class and thought we would just be letting Vaca sniff out some birds, so the level of instructions for us in class exceeded my expectations. Private lessons with Lucas has also been great as we've been learning how to train Vaca at home during the week, while also progressing Vaca up to using her nose to find birds on her own instead of being guided by us onto a bird.

We love Valhalla. If you want your dog trained in a positive manner this is the place for you. The trainers communicate with us at least once a week. Jennifer, Ryan, and Jr Trainer Lucas are fantastic. They have knowledge of many breeds other than the “usual suspects”. My wife and I have been taking our 1yr old French Brittany to the Gun Dog Excellence school for several weeks. The trainers are very knowledgeable and helpful. The price seems reasonable and our dog is doing better. We have a plan and the coaching is insightful based on our dog's readiness. We are very satisfied and will continue to use Valhalla.

GO ELSEWHERE! Kennel was great last year and staff very nice and caring. They were also very fair in pricing for the time they actually had your dogs. We had 2 dogs stay for 3 nights and were charged $289.00 we did pay for the outside play time. When we questioned them we were told well you picked up after 11am. We dropped off 3:30pm on Monday picked up 2:45pm on Thursday. They charged $84.00 for a late pick up. That's more than we paid per night for the dogs to stay there? Then on top of it they are rude when you try to explain the logic to them. They weren't even in your care for 72 hours. We won't be taking my dogs there anymore so just beware if you pick up after 11am you might as well have your dogs stay another night because you will be charged $84.00 regardless of when you dropped off. I guess they can't use common sense of how long they have had your dogs in their care and charge you accordingly? I can understand a late fee but $84.00 for 3 hours and not even having our dogs for a full 3 days and now being charged more than what I would have paid for a 4 day stay is nonsense. You can tell they don't care about your dogs they just want your money. So BEWARE!

So many good things to say about Valhalla! First let me say that their kennel/boarding is extremely accommodating and well priced. You can tell the staff really care about the dogs they watch. My GSP sprints to the kennel every time we drop her off, which should tell you everything you need to know. Second, the puppy class is a great opportunity to get young dogs gun and bird exposure in a controlled yet fun setting. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a new pup who is looking to hunt their dog. From there you can work with the trainers on more advanced training - whoa breaking, steady to shot/release, heel, etc… or have them do it for you by boarding your dog. As a first time bird dog owner Scott and Jen provided me with all the direction to train my GSP on my own. Lastly, the hunts/shoots at Valhalla are special. Slightly more expensive than some other clubs around but the backdrop is very different than most planted hunts, especially the creek bottom. Worth the extra dollars in my opinion. Unfortunately I have left CO, but I would recommend Valhalla to anyone in the front range for both boarding and training. Thanks for everything Valhalla Team!

We sent our two English Setters to Valhalla for their gun dog kennel training program. They were there for about six weeks and came back confident, happy and excited hunters. Their progress was incredible and I'm very excited to continue working with Valhalla to make them even better bird dogs. Their trainer Jen was phenomenal. She is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. She knew both my dogs very well and was able to tailor the training to their strengths and weaknesses. The way she talks about hunting also makes it very accessible for those trying to learn and get into the sport. We're excited to continue working with her!

This place is amazing! Our dog started there doing the Saturday puppy classes. We then left him there for a month to train and have since been back to do some individual training sessions. I will say that our dog has been developed into a very well behaved, exceptional hunter. We are thoroughly happy that we found Valhalla when we did. I love that you can have your dog trained or worked over some birds for "field time" anytime he is there for boarding. Going out to shoot some birds here is fun as well.

We’ve had a great experience at Valhalla with individual training for our pup. She’s progressed steadily while participating in training for the past several months. We have done individual training sessions with Parker and Jen (not boarding). We also have participated in some group training sessions at the onset of our pup’s training.
