I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Twisted Tine Outfitters! From start to finish, Mike, Troy, and Corey made us feel incredibly welcomed and taken care of. Their hospitality was second to none, and they truly went above and beyond to make the entire experience unforgettable. I was fortunate enough to harvest a bull elk with my bow, and each of them played a part in helping me feel confident throughout the hunt. They were encouraging, knowledgeable, patient, and made the entire experience so much fun. It wasn’t just about the hunt—it was about the memories, the camaraderie, and enjoying every moment along the way. The food, hospitality, and hunting experience were all amazing. I’m already looking forward to coming back and doing it all over again! Thank you, Mike, Troy, and Corey, for an incredible experience and memories I’ll never forget. Twisted Tine Outfitters is the real deal! 🏹🦌

Had the pleasure of experiencing 2 high fence hunts with Twisted Tines('23 & '25). Great experience both times while taking a nice 330'" and an awesome 370" bull. Very down to earth and friendly atmosphere. The ranch is an awesome piece of property with nice elevation changes and good combination of thick stuff and open areas, with great access to most areas. Staff/ guides know the ranch well and it doesn't take long to get on the elk your after. Food & accommodations are great and the atmosphere is very laid back and casual. Troy has great ideas for the future of the business and I can't wait to get back for another hunt.

Outstanding experience with Twisted Tine Outfitters! Troy, Mike, Corey, and Jim are extremely knowledgeable and go out of their way to ensure clients have a positive experience. Beautiful land, a comfortable lodge, and fantastic meals (thanks Jim!). Most importantly, they are quality men. They hosted our veteran hunt group, and from the moment we arrived, they were super welcoming and seamlessly integrated into the team. I truly enjoyed my time there and look forward to returning in the future. Thanks for the great memories fellas!

Excellent experience. Large private hunting property with all of the amenities. Troy, Mike, and Jim provide outstanding service and education. The property has meadows and aspen groves with varying elevations. Other than hunting activities include; marksmanship/shooting range with varying target distances and elevations or you can take a break and catch trout at the reservoir. The accommodations and meals are terrific. Troy and Mike are able to provide a great guiding experience and offer you an opportunity to hunt world class animals.

Got my Dad an elk hunt in September 2025. I was very impressed with everything Twisted Tines offered. The lodge was great, the food was excellent and the guides were knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get a great elk

Troy has an outstanding outfit. I've hunted there for four years. In 2025 my son who is 17 years old shot his first elk. Troy and his guides were so great with him. They didn't try to make him rush his shot and he was able to hammer it with one shot from his CVA 6.5 PRC. Jim the lodge chef is outstanding at taking care of our meals and snacks. He was great with my son always having a snack waiting for him when we returned. He has very congenial with everyone at the lodge. He also had lots of stories to tell during down time. His meal preperation were superb. The facilities has a range to make any last minute adjustments to our rifles. The processing area is amazing. I'm looking forward to returning in 2026.

Where do I start...Summary: We signed up for the DIY hunt which consisted of a cabin on private with public access. Cabin was great. But there was little to no communication until 11 pm the night before we were to arrive at the contacted location. We were told that a guide would be there to go through things with us and would be available for hire if wanted. The guide never showed up - if it wasn't for the cook we wouldn't have even known where to go. We took on the mountains and had success. Came back to the main camp where we were told prior to the hunt that they would have freezers. There was no one there to help. After heading to town to get ice, we came back to the guide and cook who then cleaned/ started the freezer. The next day the guide and cook had got in an argument which the cook left for the remainder of the time and no one was there to fill the generator to keep our meat cold, take care of trash/replace propane etc. The outfitters equipment was so run down for the guide that he had to use our rangers to complete his duties that we did not hire him for. The "guide" twice as of last night, two weeks after our hunt is texting one of us in an effort to shake us down through rude and unprofessional comments for money that he says we owe him for storing the meat and cost of fuel - giving fishing holes etc. But you need to know the whole time we were there we tried to avoid Dustin (the guide). He was extremely unprofessional/rude/obnoxious and at one point told me, that I was lucky he was a nice guide because most guides would've taken the ivory from my elk skull. We did not solicit advice from him - the guy never shut up when we were around him and wanted everyone to know how badass he was. In his ramblings, there were tips we took, like good approach spots for fishing at the lake. We were very uneasy and uncomfortable during our stay because of the dysfunction of the guide/operation and now the guide is saying we OWE HIM money through text messages weeks after our hunt. We paid as a group $12,500. If you enjoy dysfunction and being harassed by a guide weeks after a hunt because he is hard up for money, this is the hunt for you - DIY through Twisted Tine Outfitters

This was a trip of a lifetime! I am so blessed to have been able to experience watching large groups of elk every day we hunted. Patience was key and it paid off. I was able to shoot a beautiful 6x6 bull. Gens was my guide and even though he’s young and just starting to guide he knows a lot and is very passionate about hunting. From beginning to end this was an awesome hunt. Chad is a great guy and has a great lease to hunt on. I plan on booking a hunt for my Dad next! Thanks again TTO!!

Positives - DIY hunt with stocked cabin, easy access to public land and available game for those capable of onX usage and high elevations. Lots of positive feedback via phone conversations from guide prior to arrival building expectations. Shared waypoints were helpful, but were two years old. Main lodge had shower facilities, cold meat storage and meat pole. Took two mule deer, one elk and two missed opportunities. Negatives - No response to emails prior to arrival, guide did not meet us at 2:00 pm at the local bank for arrival after we scheduled our long distance trip for this specific time. We used onX pins to locate the lodge. Met by the camp cook upon arrival - who showed us the cabin - very helpful. Hunting area has an extensive 7 mile 4 wheeler trail so lots of public hunter competition at higher elevations. We were lead to believe we would be the only party at the cabin only to learn the week before another cabin would be occupied - and met the other hunters who were told the same. The guide used our Polaris to assist the other hunters for two days - and charged them a guide fee - see Cameron's review. The helpful camp cook left due to guide drama. Summary- area holds game and if you adapt, sleep where there is sign and avoid the 4 wheelers, there is opportunity. Good intentions and created expectations by the guide service but too many undeliverables. Paying $2500 each or $12,500 for a small cabin and competing with another group isn't worth it in my opinion. Spoke to Chad after the hunt and shared our concerns. He reiterated the DIY component and was unaware of some of the logistical issues, but I give him credit for calling me back.
★★☆☆☆
The GOOD - Cabin was nice, comfortable ans stocked with water, snacks, good heater and comfortable foam mattresses. Cabin was right off a main trail that provided good access. The BAD - Hospitality was unfortunately not good and didn't check in and make us feel like we were "clients" or guests. Their equipment was run down and the help we had from the outfitter didn't feel sincere and professional. Communication was spotty leading up to it and didn't get much better. Paid for a "guide" for 2 days (way more than I should have) that just napped at the lodge for the majority of the day. Not the experience I was hoping for. Hope this review serves to curb expectations for future guests.

Enjoyed a successful, fun, and safe hunt with Chad and Troy from Twisted Tines. Also appreciate Peyton for spotting/glassing and Jim for the delicious food. Really enjoyed hanging out with these gentlemen, and definitely plan to return.

Chadd and Troy have an excellent outfitt. Great folks, very accommodating, extremely fun to be with and make you feel very welcomed. I will forever involve Chadd in my future elk hunting trips. He genuinely has your best interest in your hunt. For anyone reading this, I have hunted elk for the past 24 years. They run the best outfit for the money out west. Period. Not to mention they both know more about hunting than most anyone as well. Thank you Chadd!! We appreciate all you do for us hunters!
★★★★★
Had a great time! Great experience for my son’s first bull elk. Chad, Blake and crew were great. I would recommend them. I will be going back. The smile on my son’s face says it all.
★★★★★
Great people, great food and great hunting. Chad and the rest of his team were extremely professional and knowledgeable on where and how to get you in front of a big bull. Will definitely hunt with TTO again.
★★★★★
We booked a hunt for our 10 year wedding anniversary and this outfitter did not disappoint. Chad went above and beyond to make our trip memorable and get us our cow and bull elk. The staff is professional, the accommodations are comfortable, and the food Jim cooks up is amazing! The view of the mountains from the cabin were an added bonus. If you are looking to book with an honest outfitter, this is the place.
★★★★★
Chad and his team run an efficient operation. The accommodations are perfect for a hunt camp. Rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The meals prepared by Jim keep you full all day and taste darn good too. The land has undulating topography that makes for exciting glassing spots with many lanes for review of animals on property. The team on site can make the hunt as difficult or as easy depending on your fitness level. That’s something that makes this place special for spending time with your older parents or family etc. You will have many opportunities on elk. The guides who assist you with the hunt are top notch good folks you want to sit down and have a beer with. All in all this was a worth while experience and money well spent. We will be back.
★★★★★
Great Sept elk archery hunt. Friend and I both tagged out. Great accommodations and food. Guides skilled and friendly.
★★★★★
We had a great experience with Chad and his team. Chad, Blake, and Payton went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time and were on bulls every day. Jim had great food every day and if you wanted anything else he was more than willing to make it for you. I would recommend Chad to anyone looking for an elk hunt in Colorado. He will do everything he can to make sure you're successful. There is a reason why he has people come back year after year. You won't be disappointed. We ended up taking 2 bulls of a lifetime this trip.
★★★★★
Let me start by saying this was a hunt of a lifetime. We got the pleasure of being guided by Payton. He did an amazing job getting me and my brother on 2 bulls over 400! Chad and Blake are also amazing guys. They make you feel like family and feed you like a king! They are super skilled and can accommodate you to make you comfortable. This is definitely an experience I will never forget. I definitely recommend this hunt to anyone and will definitely be coming back!
★★★★★
Had an amazing Elk hunting experience with Chad, Blake and Chad’s son Peyton. Will come back if I ever shoot another Elk.
★★★★★
Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Chad is an outfitter that truly knows what he’s doing, and knows how to choose guides that do their job well. It starts from the top, and Chad proves to be the real deal! Had all of our elk (4) down in a full day (evening half day hunt and morning hunt of first full day). Blake took care of me real well, and let my dad (who’s been my guide my whole life) step in when he wanted but continued to do what he needed to make sure my elk was secured. Another sign of a good guide! The FOOD!! Jim is a saint and will always make sure you’re fed 💙 TTO is the place to go for any of your elk hunt needs, no matter where in the country you’re coming from!
★★★★★
Fantastic hunt and trip with TTO. The knowledgeable and hard working guides exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be planning a return trip.
★★★★★
Chad and his guides were very knowledgeable and hospitable. Everyone killed monster bulls and I got my cow. The lodge is pretty sweet and the ranch is beautiful. I really appreciated the change in terrain on the property and the diversity of habitat. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and I will be back in the future, thanks guys.

Yet another fantastic hunt with Chad, Blake and Peyton at TTO. The accommodations and food are top notch, and the hunts are the best you’ll find. This is our fourth consecutive year and we’ll be back next year too!
★★★★★
This was my forth year with 100% success! Beautiful land to hunt for any level of experience. Having my own guide is helpful to navigate the land and be sure I have the right guidance for sucess. The accommodations and the food never let me down. Being a women hunter I have plenty of respect and privacy even when the lodge is full.

What an amazing experience! My husband was diagnosed with ALS in Dec. 23. He is a former LEO and veteran. We reached out to several hunting outfitters to see who could and would be willing to help my husband with his dream elk hunt. Chad at Twisted Tine Outfitters was the only response. He was incredibly accommodating to my husband’s mobility challenges and made sure he had the best experience possible. The lodge was set in the middle of what seemed like no where and the views were breathtaking. Chad, Troy, Peyton, and Jim made our full experience phenomenal. I feel like we could be lifetime friends! Thank you again for making this the most memorable and meaningful experience for me and my husband.
★★★★★
Awesome outfitter, very knowledgeable and great hunt. Will definitely go again.

TTO put on a great life experience event! Troy and Chad are definitely pros and run a world class operation. The ranch is private and beautiful and made for a challenging but enjoyable environment. The preparation for the hunt was carefully organized and resulted in all hunters in the party thoroughly prepared. The hunt and harvest were flawlessly led by Troy and Chad. Hugely enjoyable and I learned a lot. TTO has my highest recommendation and I will definitely return. Thank you, TTO!
