Had an amazing hunt with Timberline! Nick was so accommodating, fun, friendly and the best hunter I’ve ever met. He was well prepared, patient and thoughtful. I appreciated his willingness to prep me for what was ahead and his well executed plans for each day. The food was delicious. Nick made us hot breakfast each morning. Dinners were hearty. The camp was awesome just exactly how you’d imagine a high mountain outfit. Nick is the real deal ! Harvesting a big bull was a lifetime dream and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I’d recommend Timberline to anyone seeking a great Wyoming hunt .

It's not often I write a negative review and debated on whether or not to do so, but the experience we had with this outfitter warrants an honest review that perhaps will help someone else planning a trip like this to prepare for what they can expect. At a cost of a whopping $12,000+ it is reasonable to have a few basic expectations, especially ones that are in line with what is being advertised by the outfitter. I have been on several guided big game hunts in Wyoming, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas so I have plenty of experiences that serve as a benchmark for this one. As an avid life long hunter, I understand that there certain aspects about hunting that are beyond one's control so I won't go into much detail about the actual hunting experience although there is plenty I could say about the game plan, or lack thereof, and the professionalism, or lack thereof, of the guide service. Instead, I will focus on my disappointment in the accommodations, meals, and overall hospitality. The lodge was fine but there were zero towels, we were not offered any towels and we had to go buy some of our own. Meals were not only "not good" they were the leftovers served to us from a hunting group that was there the prior week. There were not many other provisions offered outside of the leftovers and what was there were items past their expiration dates. When I went to get a second cup of coffee, the owner freaked out and I was told how expensive coffee pods were. One would think $12,000+ would cover the cost of an extra .60 cent pod. The owner had little interest in ensuring his guests were comfortable, looked after, or even welcome. On checkout day after three days of poor service, rude and obnoxious behavior, and expired leftover food a large tip was expected and when not earned, so not given, he bad-mouthed our group to other guests. That was a total lack of professionalism and is the #1 reason why I decided to go forward with my review. If I had known the reality of what I was paying for ahead of time when I was searching for an outfitter, I would have kept searching. This place was not worth the money spent and not the experience I was led to believe we would have from the website and all my conversations with the owner in the weeks leading up to our trip. I would like to think that the owner would take these comments as constructive and not take personal offense but rather would use them to improve his operation and his conduct as a professional instead of running his business like a scam artist while being totally obnoxious, rude and foul mouthed toward his paying customers.

Don't waste your money. Worst "guided" hunt I've ever been on. Lack of communication, very unprofessional, and zero planning. Basics: We were to meet the owner at his house at 2:30. We sat around for 3 hours and did absolutely nothing. Complete waste of an afternoon to scout. Was told there were multiple parcels of private ground and BLM land to hunt on. I only hunted one field. He only had two stands and a tractor that was used as a third stand. Website shows five guides. We only had one guide for 4 hunters. Accommodations. It was a newer cabin, nice and clean but each bedroom only had 2 twin beds with mattresses that were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Could have easily fit full or queen beds that were more comfortable. No towels or wash clothes in the bathrooms. We drove back into town to buy our own. Food: Gross and extremely fatty and greasy. . I've been on guided hunts before and usually they will have someone come in and prepare fresh meals. Not once. Everything was prepared offsite and just heated up. Pretty sure we ate some leftovers from prior week's hunt. One day, the owner was gone on a pheasant hunt and by 10:30 no one had made breakfast. So I got some ham and eggs out of the refrigerator and scrambled them for all of us. I later found out that the owner complained that I went into HIS fridge and helped myself to HIS food. Owner kept mentioning how much everything cost. Even the cost of coffee pods(61 cents). LOL. Hunt: We had stated before we booked that we did not want to drive an hour or more from where we were staying. We also did not want to jump a mule deer from the road and then run up and down the side of bluffs, valleys, and hills chasing after it. Usually not successful and exhausting. The night before our hunt we all asked multiple times what was the plan. No definite answer. Finally, I spoke up and said I would go sit in a stand. Another guy that we just met said that he would spot and stalk. They only mentioned two stands and there were four of us. My friend, a father and son duo, said he would go and sit in the stand and his son could go spot and stalk. The next morning is when we realized that we would NOT have our own individual guide as advertised. The 1 guide would take my friend's son and this guy that we just met to spot and stalk together. We asked him how do you decide who gets to shoot? These guys are complete strangers that have never hunted together and just met last night. The answer was we flip a coin. You've got to be kidding me. So my buddy then decided that he would go with his son so that he would not be put in the position to flip a coin with a stranger to see who gets to shoot. They spent the day running up and down the side of the hills chasing a moving target. The guide never mentioned anything about breakfast or lunch and never packed any food for them or told them to pack any food or snacks. Finally, he drove them into town so they could eat lunch at Arby's. Again, lack of planning. Lack of communication. After lunch the guide took a nap in the truck. Customer service: After dinner, the owner, guide, and usually the neighbor from down the street, would all go into the living room and binge watch Tulsa King so loud that we could barely hear ourselves talk while sitting around the table. Not once were we asked if we wanted to watch anything or plan the next day's hunt. Here's the biggest kicker of all: The second night of the hunt I had four bucks bed down between the cabin and a cornfield. I told the owner and guide that I would walk back out and hunt off of the tractor the next morning. When the guide dropped off another hunter on the opposite side of the cornfield he drove the side x side with all its lights on right back through the turn row that I told him I saw the deer in. They jumped up and ran into the cornfield well before shooting light. Are you freaking kidding me? I said something to the owner and guide. Owner's response." oh they weren't anything" How do you know? It was still dark! Bottom line: Like I said,"Don't waste your money".

Can’t say enough good things about this outfit! Craig and Nick are best of class- with a commitment to professionalism, quality, deliverance and exceptional hunting skills. They truly care about their clients and have pride in what they do. Their experience and outstanding reputation is what lead me to them nearly 18 years ago. They’ve become my friends over the years and I can’t wait to make my way back out. Craig is so knowledgable and helpful. He can tell a story like no other and after one conversation you will feel like long time pals. He will drop everything he’s doing to visit about your hunt, draw odds, wildlife management, questions, concerns or anything and everything. Nick has been my guide for years and I am so grateful we have shared many amazing adventures! It’s not all about the trophy but I have definitely harvested more than I would have ever imagined.

I have hunted with them many times for Prong Horn, Elk and Parrie dogs. About 10 trips so far. Always a great time that why I keep going back. I'll be go back again to. Both Craig and Nick are great to hunt with and great company to be with. I need to make my next hunt with them for Mule deer, always see a lot of them there while hunting other game but haven't booked a deer hunt yet. I have never been disappointed with them and you can't go wrong choosing them for your next hunt.

Top notch. Considering they have outfitter license #2 in the state out of hundreds I'm confident they're the best operation in the area. Big bulls- fun hunts! Safety, professionalism, professional guides. Highly recommended.
