Absolutely awesome week!! We can’t say enough great things about this ranch. Kevin and Trixie made everyone feel right at home! All the wranglers were great. We spent our time with Kennedy and Jaren, both were friendly, knowledgeable and fun to be around. We had Chandler take us fly fishing which was another great half day. From the horses, cabins, family dinners and cookouts we couldn’t have made it any better! The rafting/hot springs day was a nice addition as well as the Jackson Hole rodeo. I wouldn’t change a thing!

Large friendly staff, very professional. We were a large group of rank beginner to moderate riders who all felt well attended to. Members with dietary needs were all accommodated. Our party included children under 4 years old

While the staff is clearly working hard to make guest experience great, I am very concerned about the welfare of the horses on this ranch. The wranglers definitely care for these animals, but due to the mountainous terrain and the age of the horses, it’s obvious they are overworked.

My husband and I have stayed at numerous dude ranches in Colorado. This was our first in Wyoming as a 43rd anniversary present to ourselves. It was also the worst dude ranch. We stayed 4 nights in September and it started when we pulled in and couldn't find the office (no sign) or any people to check in with. When we did check in - Reba - in the office said if we had any issues not to bother her or the co-owner as they were "worthless" and we should just talk to the staff. My husband and I stayed in the owners cabin. We were assured it was the nicest cabin there. The cabin is in dire need of maintenance. The kitchen faucet was really hard to turn off and dripped constantly. The towels were old and dingy. The mattress sagged. The end table was wobbly. There were no brooms to sweep mud with. The first night we had no heat - the staff solution was blankets because no one knew how to turn the heat on. Apparently someone had turned off the circuit breaker. Couldn't figure that out until the next night when we realized the heat controls did not work. The baseboard heating was either blasting heat or you turned off the circuit breaker. Then when everything was warmed up we were swarmed by WASPS. The co-owner - can't remember his name - used wasp bombs for 2 days in the cabin. We had to cover everything and evacuate. They killed over 200 wasps and still couldn't find the nest or queen. The meals and appetizers were good and basic - not anything I couldn't have cooked myself. Was hoping for a little more creative recipes. The dining room was small and crowded - the noise from all the people laughing and talking so loud you couldn't talk or hear the people next to you. We always ate quickly and left. The crowd that was there liked to drink - apparently with no staff supervision in the lodge - and in the mornings it smelled like stale booze and there was trash and obvious signs of partying - with no clean up. They even broke a table one night. Loved the wrangler we ended up with several times - Olivia. Not her fault the trails were pretty tough. It had rained alot and because the ranch doesn't have alot of flat terrain to ride on the horses would slip and slid in the mud up and down the hills. Not surprising that many beginner riders would complain. The working staff were all very attentive and eager to help in any way. The planned outings were all executed well. But the management and maintenance are sorely lacking. I would not recommend this dude ranch.

This place was everything I wanted and more. I didn’t know what to expect visiting at the very end of their season in October, as I had originally planned to come earlier in September. But everything was perfect—the beautiful fall foliage, the crisp air, the cozy cabin vibe, the spectacular views during rides. I had so much fun as a solo traveler and highly recommend this experience to anyone considering going alone—you easily make friends with the families, couples, and other groups there. And despite it being closing week, there were a decent amount of guests and the atmosphere was so vibrant (though also peaceful and relaxing). Shoutout to all the staff—Reba, Erika, Gibson, Walker, Jena, Michael, Olivia, and I’m forgetting a few names, but literally everyone there is wonderful—for contributing to such a special experience. I think every other guest felt the same way. You really can’t go wrong choosing this ranch for your next vacation.

Before I explain why we were disappointed with SHR as a Dude Ranch, I want to first state that the Wranglers, the Cleaning crew, Kitchen staff, Wait staff workers, and Bartender were all attentive and hard-workingl from what we experienced. They multitasked and were always friendly and helpful when we approached them. We went on a couple of horse rides and the wranglers were friendly, helpful and the outings were enjoyable. The meals served were always plentiful, with wonderfully seasoned side dishes and vegetables, and fresh salads. On the food side, there were only a couple of “misses” (for example, the banana cream pie was still partially frozen; and the processed onion rings were a very odd appetizer during Happy Hour — a cheese plate or charcuterie would have been more welcome. Some of the things I’m about to describe may sound “picky”, but the reality is that of the Dude Ranches I have visited, Spotted Horse Ranch does not meet the quality of the others, yet still charges the same or larger amount. This is why I say, we will not re-visit Spotted Horse Ranch.

Ranch is beautiful, staff and wranglers are attentive and knowable. Riding is very limited, especially for experienced riders - not enough riding for a weeks stay. This ranch does not have permits to ride the most scenic Teton locations and being limited to 2 hour rides most days, you are very limited on what you can experience. The rim ride and 1 all day ride are beautiful. I do not recommend for experienced riders, but very nice for new riders.

I just stopped in to visit a friend who was there on vacation and I was very impressed with the staff, rooms, and the friendly atmosphere!! A beautiful spot on the river! My friend and her other friends from South Caroline were very impressed with all that was included in their stay. I would recommend this ranch to other family and friends.

BEST VACATION EVER! My husband and I chose this dude ranch for our family vacation after weeks of researching dude ranches. What a wonderful place! The staff makes sure everyone feels welcome. I am a novice horseback rider but that was no problem at all. We got to trail ride through the most beautiful countryside. The food and accommodations were excellent. The trip to the hot springs and rafting were also wonderful. The ranch is just a short drive from downtown Jackson Hole and also close to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. You must visit this place!

My best friend and I couldn't wait for this trip! We had such a great time. The staff is super friendly. Cabins were clean (beds were EXTREMELY COZY) and the view from our cabin was spectacular. You're given the same horse to ride all week which was nice to be able to bond. The trails the wranglers take you on have stunning views! Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 - the food was just ok. For the price, I felt like the meals (with the exception of meals out on the trails) were the equivalent of cafeteria food rather than a sit-down dining experience. Would recommend paying extra for the overnight camp trip. The ranch goes all-out. There is even an Oven and Kitchen Sink at the campsite with running water!!

Quiet, attractive, clean, and has the best, fastest WiFi I have ever had at a motel! Downsides, no microwaves in rooms, and they tend to cram guests into adjacent and overhead rooms in groupings instead of spreading them out more when occupancy was low enough to have done so. So smokers next door can stink up others rooms smoking near the air intakes.

Eight families from CT, all first timers to SHR – vacation of a lifetime. Upon arrival, we were greeted by fabulous Rochelle with a tour; finally putting a beautiful face with a year of emails. Cabins- comfy, rustic, cozy. Views- breathtaking. Saloon– out of a movie. Games, cards, green space to run. Never a worry about the kids. Need childcare, they have it. Saloon was our spot. Fell in love with bartender Casey. So many memories in that saloon, day and night. Food - delicious. If we had excursions- packed us food to go. Most of us were first time riders and ALL of us were back on the horses day 2. Views on horseback – remarkable. God’s country. I prayed and laughed. It was revitalizing. Connections made at SHR - magical, inexplicable, so lovely. Rochelle and her staff – extraordinary. Always working, always smiling. Spent hours together on horseback, in the saloon, around the campfire; talking, connecting, learning about eachother. Sang, danced, ate, drank, laughed and cried. Last campfire - epic. Wranglers “branding” our personal gear; then Rochelle’s brother serenading us with his music. It was moving. I felt a sense of vulnerability just being in the moment. Looking around the fire – we all did. Made new friends. Rochelle rocks! She is a professional, and one hell of a wrangler. Genuine, adventurous, kind. The scheduling of our activities was impeccable. Always around for whatever we needed– no request denied. Hard-working, smart, dedicated, and passionate. Can’t say enough…we adore her. Thank you SHR. A piece of me was left with you, no doubt.

Unbelievably excellent service from every employee that works at the ranch. The staff and wranglers are super helpful and have a great can-do attitude! I loved the pre-planned activities… from fly fishing to horseback riding to white water rafting or to just sitting on the deck with a good book, there’s something for everyone. Food is good and there’s lots of it too. Rooms are comfortable. I’ve already booked my next stay at the ranch!

One week is not enough to take in the awesome atmosphere at the ranch and the surrounding Jackson Hole area. Riding in this mountainous area that borders Wyoming national Forest system is a challenge for the horse and rider.

The Ranch provides an exceptional vacation for a family of all ages. The riding and the wrangler's are excellent with astounding vistas, views, wildlife and wild flowers. The angling is diverse with opportunities to fish several world class rivers and guides that are patient professionals to cater to folks of all experience levels. The family style dining was consistently great, not an easy task while serving over 40 people three times a day. My wife commented to a neighbor that it was her favorite vacation to date. Thanks Kevin and the crew for memories of our lifetime.

My experience couldn't have been more amazing. Weather wasn't working for me, so instead of going out on a boat, I took a lesson at their ranch. My guide, Brad, was as amazing as a guide could have been: I'm a novice, and he clearly was someone who spends his entire life learning from every fishermen he encounters, reading innumerable literature on the subject, and accumulating a ton of experiential wisdom. Moreover, he truly loves sharing the sport. We spent hours together, had lunch together, and I walked away looking forward to returning to the ranch for my next hunting/fishing trip.
