Such a wonderful place to spend time with friends and family or take a corporate retreat. We have been coming back for years. The birds fly well and the dogs are first class. The guides are friendly and very experienced. You can’t beat the accommodations and the staff is amazing. If you leave hungry there is something wrong with you. The food is Michelin star worthy. I grew up quail hunting untill they disappeared from our part of the country, Southern Woods plantation is as close as I've come to that experience. Birds flew super well, our guide Billy in jeep #1 was very courteous, knowledgeable, my son brought his dog and Billy was very patient and let him hunt his dog by itself and with his dogs. The food was good and always on time, everyone we came into contact with was nice and hospitable, rooms were very clean as was all of the facilities. Will definitely try and plan another trip in the near future.

Had a great overnight trip with an afternoon hunt and morning hunt the next day. Meals were great, with lots of excellent food and the rooms were perfect for a hunting trip. Not the Ritz Carlton but clean, charming, and comfortable and convenient in the main lodge. The lodge is classic southern 'Georgian' style with hunting-themed artwork from around the world. The lodge has a nice pro shop with reasonable priced items and an amazing massive great room and bar with incredible taxidermy mounts from around the world. Renee was especially helpful as this was my first hunt ever, and she made the trip easy-to-do. The wait staff are friendly and eager to accommodate. The hunting was fantastic! I'm not sure what was the best: the equipment, the dogs, the guides, the grounds or the birds. I'd heard stories that hunting quail was not like it used to be. These birds were tricky and made the guides and dogs work, and it definitely was 'canned'. I felt very safe with our guide, Cal, who mixed instruction with great stories, and his dogs were pros. Overall A+ and I can't wait to go again!
