What a beautiful location in the heart of the Bighorns. We did lunch here before our guided horse trail ride, and then had a slice of pie afterwards. Food was delicious, service was incredible, and the trial ride was one to remember! What a unique and beautiful way to see the mountains!! We look forward to coming back here on our next trip to the Bighorn Mountains!

Stopped in the evening for a meal and was delighted with the owner and customers. After conversation and a delicious hamburger, we decided to spend the night. Wonderful experience in a beautiful Country cabin, Dave and Anne Slautterback .

Didn’t stay in cabins; just had a meal here. Food was excellent. We all enjoyed the meal and the gift shop. Beautiful location too.

We had such an amazing time here. Beautiful and clean cabins. South Fork Lodge is placed perfectly with a picturesque pond and picnic area. Our kids loved fishing, hiking and met all the kids in the neighboring cabins for s'mores in the evening. The restaurant has a variety of food for each meal time and they got a thumbs up from our crew. We highly recommend making this a stop on your journey through Wyoming ❤️

Coffee maker doesn’t work. Used toothbrush in the corner of the bathroom. Yuk. Makes you want Nader on the rest of the cleanliness. Bug guts in the light fixtures. No one cared about our concerns. Horrible.

I haven't been out there in a few year's, but if you want a slice of heaven South Fork Lodge is the place to be, beautiful area, beautiful cabins, great hunting area, and the owners are the best, not much impresses me these days but South Fork does. Can't wait to go back to see them.

Strongly suggest one stays in Buffalo and drives through the mountains rather than staying here. Not a friendly business.

We stayed here over the week of 4th of July for one night. We stayed in one of the older cabins, when we arrived everything was super clean and they had turned on the heater for us since it was chilly. We did not have a bathroom in our cabin, but it was a short walk from our front door. Everything was super clean and all the ladies we dealt with were very pleasant! We had dinner & breakfast on site & everything was delicious! We stayed in the Buffalo Cabin and it had a great view! Also was close to the community restroom! If you stay in one of the cabins without a restroom I recommend bringing a flashlight for those late night restroom runs!

Today June 2nd 2024 my wife and I went there for a late lunch . The burger and fries were delicious and the brisket sandwich special was delicious and enough for two. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

My wife and I booked an antelope hunt with Holly at the GAOS in PA. Upon arrival we checked into our cabin which was gorgeous, very clean, and had a breath taking view. That night we had a great home cooked meal and they went over what to expect on the hunt. The next morning we had great breakfast and headed out hunting and we both got our animals with our guide scooney. He went above and beyond to make it happen! Definitely recommend everything was great. Will be back!

DO NOT STAY HERE. DO NOT STAY HERE. DO NOT STAY HERE. I have been trying to come up with the right words to explain how HORRIBLE our stay was but I think the level of hospitality we were offered speaks for its self. Prior to our arrival we had a few extra friends decide to join us, so I called on three occasions to add them to our reservation because the cabin we had rented says it was only for 4 people, however you did an online reservation it said 8 guests were permitted. We had 6 adults and 3 infants. Each time I called no one really had an answer for me as far as what we should do and the gals on the phone said they would have someone else call me. Assuming they are seasonal staff, and it was an unusual situation so I was understanding. On my 4th call, I finally got ahold of Shasta (who I believe may be the manager). She was so helpful and kind, I verified that it was okay we had extra people and paid an extra nightly fee. Which was no problem. The day we arrived the cabin was a little small so the first thing I did was go to the front desk and ask 1. Can we upgrade to a larger cabin and 2. Asked about parking. We were told only smaller cabins were available for our stay so we kept the one we had and where we parked was fine as long as we were out of the way not blocking the road. Which turned out not to be true, we were the only ones in the resort 2/3 nights we were there. Could have been an honest mistake on the front desk ladies part because she was super helpful beyond that. The next evening, we got an unwelcoming visit from the Owner – WAYNE. He was TERRIBLE – screaming at us, dropping F-bombs in front of our children and completely rude. He said we had too many people, WHICH I PAID FOR. We were using too much water – 2 SHOWERS HAD BEEN TAKEN AT THIS POINT. Infants needed to be paid for as adults – which we were informed prior to arrival was not the case. He was upset at us because he supposedly told his staff at 8am that morning that they needed to tell us to move our vehicles because they were a fire hazard. He had driven by a few times at this point and never said anything himself. Around 5pm they asked us to move at the front desk, (This conversation with him happened as our party was walking back from just talking to the gal at the lodge, so didn’t even have time to move before he came completely unglued.) My personal favorite of his comments was “ARE YOU SCARED TO SPEND MONEY?!” so clearly this place is ran on greed and bad customer service. This is not someone who should be in any customer service business. Wayne got in his side by side and drove off like a child and said he was going to get his wife. We talked to her shortly after and she seemed nice, I showed her my receipt that I had paid extra for everyone and explained what had happened. She told us that she just wanted us to be comfortable and we needed to see things from their side. Which we did and was exactly why I had called over and over again to make a point to make sure we were covering our bases and being fair. If they wanted us to be comfortable a good place to start would be not yelling at your guests. We had zero intention of nickel and diming them. She seemed fearful so I am afraid that her husband was yelling at her the way he was yelling at us, I pray she is safe in her own home. It was a truly humiliating experience for all of us and we will not be back to any of the resorts they run. We learned later that Wayne is known for his hot temper and taking it out on the guests’ vs talking like a mature adult to his staff. Everyone besides him was super nice and helpful, the food at the restaurant looked great but we decided to bring our business elsewhere after being yelled at and they have a nice little store as well. STAFF – I hope you don’t put up with that horrible attitude daily and feel appreciated. The location is pretty and the rustic cabins are very rustic. GUESTS- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Restaurant review. Was not a lodge guest, but wouldn’t hesitate to be one. Food was delicious. Kitchen and dining room are spotless. Price is reasonable. Hospitality exceptional. Nothing but praise for this place and its people. If you’re lucky enough to pass by, stop in for a meal.

South Fork is located in the Big Horn Mountains, along Highway 16, west of Buffalo, Wyoming. It's nestled along the South Fork of Clear Creek. We stopped there for both a breakfast and a lunch while camping a few miles away. The waitress was great. She greeted us promptly, smiled, talked, answered questions, is a wonderful lady. The cook also came out and asked about our meals. The building is log construction, the seating arrangements were perfect. It has an "At Home" atmosphere. It is handicap accessible. Other customers also felt at ease enough to talk about their experiments in the Big Horn Mountains. The food was excellent, flavorful and neatly presented on the plate. I will definitely stop again. However, it closes after Labor Day and caters to customers who will be bow and rifle hunting in the area. I did not take any pictures of the place or area but, we have been stopping there off and on since about 1982

We stayed here a few days ago. The bedding was dirty (had stains) and smelled old (like other people had slept on it). The couch in our cabin had dead bugs on it. The bathroom was the cleanest thing in the cabin. The best thing about our stay were the two young ladies in the restaurant. My son was sick and they were more than accommodating and helpful! Kudos to them! Thank you.

A beautiful, clean, quiet summer get away. A great place to avoid people and technology. The owners and staff were great to talk with and the food was good too. Go Iowa!

My niece got married this fall and I've NEVER been treated so poorly!! The cabins were full of dead bugs, several cabins had no heat, EVERYTHING was terribly overpriced and even the cook barged into the cabin all the girls were in the night before the wedding to "party" with them. He was asked to leave several times but refused until a male from the wedding threatened him. I will never stay there, plan another event there or spend another penny there. It was not a pleasant experience.

My son and I drove from upstate NY to stay at the lodge and hunt. The cabins and the lodge were much nicer than we could have imagined and the owners Wayne and Holli made our stay unforgettable!! We filled our hunting tags in 2 days with Mule deer and antelope. Great place!! Great time with my son!! Thank you to everyone at South Fork!!
