I just did an elk hunt here with my brother and father and my brothers father in law....Unfortunately the elk were no where to be found. Tough week for several of the elk hunting parties (antelope and deer were in the plenty). The elk were bedded down hard this week. That being said the experience was still FIRST CLASS. Shawn and his family and his team provided an entertaining and eventful week. Ben Goold and Travis our guides took a harsh New England sarcasm BEATING for "hiding the elk" for almost 4 straight days and kept coming back for more. This was an week none of us will forget. First class operation run by first class people. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend!

Just returned from a bull elk hunt in Unit 117 with Skyline. Everyting about the hunt was top notch including my guide Phillip, the accomodations, and the food. I killed a nice 6x6 on the third day. Friend and I recently went on a cow elk/antelope hunt with Skyline Outfitters. Everything was exceptional. These guys are pros! Cabin was great, clean, hot water, heat, etc. Food was unbelievable and more than you can eat with exceptional desserts. Seen lots of critters, which made for a fun experience. Needless to say we both harvested our 2 animals each with an all out effort for my friend to get his elk the last day, last hour.

I’ve just returned to St. Paul, MN from Shawn’s ranch with a smile as wide as my city street and a year’s worth of scrumptious elk and antelope for my family. I’m mostly a solo, DIY public lands deer hunter but when I hunt elk I need help because of a spinal disease that strikes randomly and harshly when I lift heavy things. I went into this hunt with some trepidation because my other guided elk hunt several years ago in Colorado involved guides (off-season rodeo riders, incidentally) who nosed down at their clients and made me feel unwelcome. This hunt couldn’t have been more different or more perfect. The landscape was gorgeous, the animals were plentiful, and most importantly, Shawn and his family—including ALL of his guides—are some of the most enthusiastic, friendly, funny, helpful, ethical, and knowledgeable hunters I’ve ever met. I was a bit tearful to leave in the end because I felt like I was losing friends. But I plan to stay in touch with them (especially my awesome guide Travis B.; you should ask to see him herd cattle on a motorcycle!); and I WILL go again! It’s no exaggeration to say that the whole experience with Skyline was a high point in my hunting life and my life in general. As I told Shawn, the hunt was easily worth a year of therapy sessions (and probably less expensive, to boot). Thanks to all; and God bless.

I have been blessed and fortunate enough to elk hunt in 4 states on 5 occasions and I have seen the top and bottom. My elk hunt with Shawn and Ann at Skyline was without a doubt my greatest experience. I saw more bulls and more trophy class bulls in my first 3 days of hunting than all my other hunts combined. The hospitality and accommodations were over the top and there is no quit in Shawn. I was blessed to take a 360 inch bull the last hour of the last day but had the opportunity to take a good bull before that.
