Some buddies and I recently went on a hog hunt and it was an absolutely incredible experience, and I cannot recommend him enough. From the moment we met at 0500, Dewy was the consummate professional – polite, direct, and completely focused on ensuring a successful and safe hunt. He was always right there, giving clear directions and his experience was very apparent. The thrill of hunting was amplified by his tough as nails well-trained dogs. Ultimately we were able to kill two hogs using the traditional method with dogs and a knife, making for a truly memorable and authentic adventure. At around 1030, we returned to the lodge for a delicious, home-cooked breakfast that was the perfect end to a great hunt. The entire experience was awesome from start to finish, and I am already planning my next trip back. If you are looking for a top-notch hog hunting experience, reach out the Shady Grove Outfitters.

I finally had the opportunity to hunt with dogs and a knife—something I’ve dreamed of for years—and Shady Grove made a dream come true. This family‑owned business operates with true professionalism and genuine hospitality. They worked three military guys into their schedule on a whim and still delivered a successful morning hunt for all of us. Afterwards, they fed us and even offered to let us fish. Horrible absolutely horrible if I could give a negative review I would. Out of 4 hunters we had nobody shot a buck.. used car sales man games would never hunt there again. We slept in a tough shed bare bones outfitter. Save your money.

Hunting with Dewey was a great experience from start to finish. As a single woman, feeling comfortable in camp and in the woods mattered to me, and Dewey made that easy right away. He's professional, respectful, and genuinely easy to be around. Dewey knows his land, reads deer well, and puts in the work to give you the best chance at a successful hunt. Everything was well organized, safe, and run the right way. It was a relaxed, enjoyable hunt with someone who clearly knows what he's doing.
