Had a meat hog hunt today given to me by my daughter's for Father's day. What a great time had so much fun. Place was beautiful. Guides were great and friendly. What and experience hunting with the dogs. Was fun listening to the barking and howling. Think they were having as much fun as I was. Was successful and got good videos and pictures. My dad and I booked a meat buffalo hunt with Severson Outfitters in late 2024 for a February 2025 hunt, and the experience exceeded our expectations. Pete and Sarah (and kids — happy belated birthday, Sadie!) were absolutely fantastic hosts. We truly appreciated the welcoming family atmosphere, the great meals, and the comfortable lodge accommodations. Everything was set up perfectly for us. When it came time for the hunt, the excitement may have gotten the best of me and my shooting skills weren’t exactly in peak form that day — but even so, we were able to harvest a beautiful meat buffalo. We couldn’t have been happier with the outcome. Pete handled everything seamlessly, getting our harvest to the processor and taxidermist quickly. We opted for rush processing and were able to pick up the meat the very next day, which was incredibly convenient. This past weekend, my family finally had the chance to cook up burgers and loin steaks — and they were outstanding. Knowing this animal will provide many memorable meals in the year ahead makes the experience even more meaningful. We were beyond happy with the entire hunt and are already looking forward to booking another trip with Severson Outfitters. Thanks again Pete and Sarah Severson! Highly recommend!

I have hunted twice with Severson Outfitters. The first time I shot a trophy bull elk in 2024 and the 2nd time in 2025 my 13-year-old son shot a bison herd bull. Set up a relatively last minute hog hunt to stock up my freezer. Never done anything like this before and had no idea what to expect. For all you potential buffalo hunting enthusiasts, myself and 2 of my friends just hunted with Severson outfitters in Collbran Co.The hunt was great, the guides were very professional the lodging was adequate and the meals were good. After that everything went downhill. We were told and I quote (you will get 350-400 lbs) of meat off the 2 year old buffalo you harvest. We received less than 200 lbs at most. We were told the processing fee would be $350 it ended up being $500 and we were told the meat would be vacuum-sealed it was only wrapped in freezer paper. We are convinced the owner/guide told us these things to sell the hunt, which he did I only hope he doesn’t get to deceive any other hunters with high hopes like we had. OZ
