I had the experience of a lifetime enjoying the horseback riding, the breathtaking landscape, and Liz, my wrangler. Her passion, patience, and knowledge made the adventure even more memorable.

Just finished the two hour horseback ride. Liz was a great guide and it was fun riding Smokey! It was a much different experience here than the many other rides I’ve done in Colorado. It’s cool to start off at the (working) family ranch- in a pretty location- and then we made our way thru some picturesque woods with great views! It’s nice that the trail hasn’t been ridden a million times by the same horses who can do it blindfolded. This time felt more organic and natural and fun. Passed a few pronghorn which was cool!

absolutely amazing i love horses so this was a really good time!

Love the two trail rides I’ve done with this company. I will be doing so many more. They are so welcoming and inviting. They love the horses and treat them with so much love and respect. I really feel good about spending time here and couldn’t recommend them more. Recommend the evening of dinner and music - epic, or just a regular trial ride or wildling session.

I was hunting the 3rd week rifle. We were on horseback from 1 to 3? hours searching for Elk. The guides worked very hard for myself and the other hunters in camp, unfortunately only one Elk was taken out of 12? hunters. You can't make them appear out of thin air. We did see a lot of mule deer, a couple with huge racks. The staff was great the food was plenty and good, even the fresh baked desserts!! This was my second time there, I scored an Elk the first time. This year's hunt was the toughest hunt I have been on because of time in the saddle (ouch) but, it all would have been worth it if we killed Elk, right? They run a well organized and safe hunt camp.

Arrived at Camp on Hourse back, and the camp was Large and comfortable. Me t Jules the cook and she spelled out everything so that we had a good idea how the camp was run. She provided excellent breakfast, hand carry lunches and dinner when we returned from Hunting most of the time after dark. The horses were great and did a good job. Their was a professional guide for every two hunters. They would take you out and work hard to try and get you your game of choice. Sometimes they would work together to try and bump more animals to the hunters. They went out of their way to try and accomodate and get your game. I personally went on a couple of scouting runs with them. Note better be in shape this is at 9000 and 10,000 foot elevations. I was lucky enough to keep up and got a very nice 5X5 elk. We packed the meat out the next day and brouht it to the processors to prepare the meat overnight. This was a great trip and I would recommend it to everyone. I will Be back!!!! Jim M

I have been hunting big game for many years (40+) and my experience with Samuelson Outfitters was outstanding. Every aspect was great, including the team (Guides, Chef, Camp Helpers, Packet team and everyone else with the Samuelson family)! I highly recommend giving them a try if you want a great hunting experience and enjoy an awesome camp (with great food)!

First...everyone was so nice and helpful. It is a great setup, exceptional food and the tent accommodations are perfect. There is a tremendous amount of land to hunt, and we saw game every day. I think there were 7 out of 10 of us that got a bull elk.

We just finished a 2nd Season elk hunt with Samuelson. Every aspect of our trip was fantastic. Horses were mountain-wise and in great shape. The staff was excellent. Very skilled, friendly and helpful. We hunted with Greg. His knowledge of the mountains and his game sense were impressive. Julie ran a tight ship, and her meals were delicious and varied. No one goes hungry and she accommodates everyone. The packers and wranglers were a fun bunch and very skilled. Despite it being a burn area, game was plentiful. We saw elk and deer daily and ran it moose and black bear on several occasions. Loved the trip and look forward to next year!

My son and I had an awesome time with Samuelson Outfitters. My son harvested a beautiful cow. The packers were extremely knowledgeable about the area, and provided us with areas and tactics to improve our hunting experience. The area was absolutely beautiful! We will definitely come back.

Poor communication and late. Gave us the wrong place to meet up. Not impressed. if we did more than a pack out they might have been better but don’t have that experience.
