Salt Log Lodge provided an exceptional experience from start to finish. The lodge was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. The hunting guides were very knowledgeable and professional, which greatly enhanced the overall experience. The food was second to none, as always, and consistently exceeded expectations. The staff were courteous and attentive, and the surrounding scenery was beautiful and peaceful. I would highly recommend Salt Log Lodge to anyone seeking a high-quality and well-organized outdoor getaway.

Just got back from a four day deer hunt at Salt Log with my son. This was his first hunting experience and I cannot say enough good things about the entire stay. We saw animals every sit. The guides made sure they did everything they could to give you the opportunity to pull the trigger. The property is absolutely beautiful. The guides were extremely kind, professional, and made sure you felt welcomed. Ronnie, Jared, Trey to be specific we’re great. My son had an amazing time and has fallen in love with hunting already. He is excited to come back next year and hopefully get a chance at his first deer. Would 100% recommend. Looking forward to future hunts at Salt Log.

Had my first hunt with Salt Log this past September, missed two hogs (obviously my fault) but saw hogs every sit. Chalked it up to weapon issue, never just a bad shot! Had the ability to check zero at lodge range, which is super convenient. Food and lodging was outstanding, photo for reference lol.. still have dreams about that fried chicken! Came away without a kill, again my fault, but have already booked for next year. The camaraderie and time spent with other hunters is truly special. Would recommend 10/10 times

This is hands down one of my favorite hunts. I started out going once a year, but now try and get down to Salt Log several times a year. This will be my 6th year in row hunting with Salt Log. Jonathan, Ronnie, and the other guides always go above and beyond to try and make our hunts successful. It's FREE RANGE hunting. While they can't control the animals, they do an exceptional job at making the hunts memorable. Not to mention you will leave a little heavier than you arrive. Mrs Carrie is an amazing cook. Can't recommend this place enough. Andy

An Unforgettable Hunting Experience! Salt Log Outfitters is hands down one of the best hunting destinations in Georgia! From the moment we arrived, everything was first-class — the guides were professional, knowledgeable, and made sure every hunter had the best possible experience. The property itself is absolutely incredible — nearly 8,000 acres of prime hunting land with food plots, tower blinds, and river bottoms that are full of wildlife. We saw plenty of deer, hogs, and turkey throughout our stay, and the setup was perfect for both seasoned hunters and first-timers. The attention to detail, from the Antler Xtreme feeders to the well-placed blinds, really shows how much pride they take in managing the land and ensuring a quality hunt. If you’re looking for a top-notch, authentic Georgia hunting adventure — Salt Log Outfitters is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back next season! Big shout out to Jonathan, Ronnie , Mrs . Carrie, Trae .. these are all great people !!

The cooking was great, the guides were great, the hunting part was a con job to make you pay more money with that $1,000 fine. I will never go back again.

The lodge was beautiful. The staff and guides were kind though they chose to not eat with the hunters which seemed odd, but I’m sure they were busy discussing things to prepare for the hunts, so I won’t really hold that against them. Carrie, the chef did an outstanding job at making sure we were well fed. I booked a 3 day deer/hog hunt. Many of the hunters were covered up in hogs, though I think I only saw a single piglet at about 200 yards running across a field about 20 minutes before sunrise. I was rather disappointed that I didn’t get to take a shot at one. There were plenty of deer on the property. I saw 3 total 8 pointers, quite a few six pointers, a button and a couple of spikes. Doe were a regular sighting. I took an 8 pointer at 165 yards that looked pretty good from afar, but when we got up close, it looked like a close call for the minimum 16 inch spread that the lodge requires. When it measured in, it only made 14.5 inches and the guide told me that they don’t usually count the broken off tines, despite being able to clearly hang a ring off it. It still made 8 points but I had to pay the $1000 fine to continue hunting for hogs, though like the rest of the deer hunters, I never saw any that I could take without being fined. As I said, the staff were kind and accommodating but I won’t be returning as 4 bucks were taken and none of them met that 16 inch minimum, nor did anyone see one that would meet the standard, with one exception; a hunter who has been to Salt Log multiple times, who said he saw one at over 250 yards but was only hunting hogs. I hope they will consider re-evaluating their trophy fine policy to accommodate hunters, possibly allowing hunters to take doe instead, and applying the fine to those who mistakenly take buttons. It had hunters afraid to take shots at deer that had substantial 8 points racks. I would have gladly taken a doe instead of paying an extra $1000 on a buck that didn’t make the muster.

I’m leaving a 3-star review. Not to deter anyone from booking a hunt here, but to share my honest experience. Lodging/Food: The lodge was absolutely beautiful, spotless, and everything you’d hope for in a hunting lodge. Rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, private amenities, and access to a fridge and washer/dryer. The main common area was inviting, with plenty of rocking chairs, recliners, and a huge flat-screen TV. Meals were excellent, true home cooked Southern comfort food, and every one hit the spot. Guides/Service: The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and punctual. They genuinely seemed to care about helping you succeed and ran the schedule efficiently. The hospitality and overall service quality were top-notch. Hunting: I booked primarily to deer hunt and arrived right as the pre-rut was transitioning. I saw solid deer activity on most sits, but no bucks close to the “trophy” standard advertised. Their website states they “try to ensure clients have an opportunity at a 10-point buck,” with most bucks taken being “8 points or better, outside the ears.” In our group of roughly ten hunters (seven deer hunting), none encountered a buck meeting that standard. I fully understand that’s part of hunting, there are always variables beyond control, and I’m sure quality deer are on the property. But one hunter in our group mentioned it was his fourth trip here without such an opportunity, which suggests those high end encounters may be less common than expected. It’s also worth noting that the lodge enforces a $1,000 fine for taking undersized bucks, so be certain of your shot before pulling the trigger. They will thoroughly explain this prior to your hunt. At typical shooting distances, judging antler size can be tough, a few deer taken on our trip clearly didn’t meet the stated criteria, others were a couple inches off. This rule makes sense for management, but it can put hunters in a tricky spot: hold out for a trophy that may never appear, go home empty handed, or risk the fine. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The lodge, food, and service were outstanding, and I took home a deer I’m happy with. That said, given the price and the trophy-buck expectations, I don’t think I’ll be returning. If you’re looking for a comfortable lodge, great people, and solid odds at hogs or general deer activity, Salt Log Lodge is a fine choice. If your goal is a probable shot at a true trophy buck, it may not meet that expectation every trip.

Took our group 10 years of hog hunting with different guide services to find the very best. The accommodations are great, along with the food. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming. Everyone in our group was happy with and excited for our return to Salt Log for more hog hunting. Thank you all at Salt Log for a memorable experience!

Recently I participated in a 3 day hog hunt at Salt Log Outfitters. This place is fantastic! From the delicious meals prepared by Carrie to the fellowship and knowledge of Jonathan, Ron, Trey and Taco the experience was awesome. And the place is loaded with hogs. I look forward to getting back. Thank you everyone for making this experience unforgettable!

Amazing is the best way to describe this place. I took my son for his first hunt ever and while we didn’t take home a deer he is now in love with hunting. The guides were all awesome and very knowledgeable, the food is great and the lodge is perfect. We will be back every year.

My 7 year old so and I went for opening rifle season. The guides were outstanding and extremely knowledgeable on deer and hog movement. The lodge was clean and the layout was perfect! My son and I had a great hunt bagging a buck and 2 hogs on our hunt. We have already booked our hunt for next year. Doesn’t matter if you’re an experienced hunter or just starting out they cater the hunt to your needs we couldn’t of been happier. Highly recommended

This whole experience was fantastic, and we all had a blast! Andy is just a super nice guy and was great with my kids too. They were all smiles on the swamp buggy and even more smiles when they got their hogs. Our hunt was about 1 1/2- 2 hours, which was perfect for the kid’s first time out. Excellent communication from the time of booking, to the instructions given before and during the hunt. Couldn’t have asked for a better time!

We were here this past weekend. This place is leaps and bounds beyond any other outfitter we have visited. Beautiful piece of property! Ronnie and his wife were very hospitable and Jonathan was great to work with. The food is amazing, we ate like kings. The stands were comfortable and the second morning I was able to take a shot on a really nice Buck. I wasn’t able to recover him but that’s hunting sometimes. Ronnie and Taco did everything they could to find him but it was a tough situation. We are working on booking another trip as we speak. Great job Guys and thank you!

Had a opportunity to go down last minute for a cancellation and couldn't be happier with how it went. Wasn't lucky to tag out on a big BUCK but was able to take a couple hogs. Jonathan took me and my guy out after dark looking for hogs and he did what he set out to do and put us on some good ones. The accommodations are first class and the lodge is beautiful. Oh and the best part is the meals that are prepared for you when you come back from hunting. The cook is phenomenal. Almost as good as my grandma's. Everything we expected and more. Will be going back again in the near future. Would recommend if you want a laid back good time with great fellowship.

LATE SEASON HOG/DEER HUNTERS DEC 5-8 Facility 8/10 👍🏻 Beautiful facility 👎🏻Wasn’t cleaned daily didn’t have soaps or shampoo and had to reuse wet towels also had 6 hangers for 4 hunters Hospitality 4/10 👍🏻Cook was sweet as could be 👎🏻Only had one person one of 5 introduce themselves to me. They didn’t hang out at our table at dinner nor stick around after dinner at all. Guide services 2/10 👍🏻answered questions we knew to ask talked to us on the way to the stand. 👎🏻 didn’t know the feeding area was flooded before heading out to the area. Didn’t give us updates on deer patterns, rut or calling ideas. Drove the UTVs within .5 mile of stand while hunting and occasionally right by the stand even though there was alternate routes only 11 trail cams on 7000+ acres no knowledge of deer patterns. No cleaning gloves if we wanted to clean no extra flashlights for tracking. Hunting quality 1/10 👎🏻Only 25% of us when home with meat and nothing impressive but some of our first hogs. We got wet and muddy every 4 mile drive to and from the stand. Lizards lady bugs bees squeaky chairs no carpets and couldn’t stand in the enclosed stands.

As far as Georgia outfitters go there isn't one that I know of that even comes close. Jonathon and Ronnie will take care of you. The food is amazing and the facilities in the lodge are up there with really nice hotels. Clean and comfortable rooms again great food. :) The main lodge area is great pool table etc...the hunting property is amazing. My son and I saw 20+ hogs in a sitting and some were monsters. We killed one and missed a couple more. :) The deer population is crazy as well...we saw more bucks than does all at least 6 pointers that had a lot of growth potential. Seriously if you are looking at hog/deer hunting in Georgia don't look anywhere else. Update - So since this visit my son and I have visited twice more. My original review is still accurate but I wanted to say that each year this place just keeps getting better and more welcoming all the time. My son shot his first buck ever this week and he's still on cloud nine. I feel at home here with these guys and gals. The food is out of this world and when I got home I was sad I wouldn't have a breakfast biscuit waiting for me upon waking. :) Jon and Ronnie are like family at this point.

Salt Log Outfitters did not disappoint. The lodge rooms were exceptionally clean and cozy and the food that was served was so yummy. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous.
