RTS Hunting has been in the big-game hunting business since 1999, operating on a 53,000-acre ranch in Northwest Colorado. As part of the Ranching for Wildlife program, they offer guided hunts for elk, mule deer, and pronghorn antelope with guaranteed tags and high success rates. They pride themselves on repeat business, a great staff, and maintaining properties for optimal wildlife habitat.
We also have a limited number of “management buck hunts” available. These are fully mature deer with undesirable antler configurations. Your guide will tell you if an animal is a shooter buck. Management hunts are offered at a greatly reduced price and are great hunts for a youth hunter or someone who just wants to fill the freezer with venison.
We are very fortunate to have amazing pronghorn antelope hunting here at RTS Hunting, LLC. Our pronghorn population is stable-to-rising, with plenty of nice bucks to choose from. The units that our ranch lays in (3,301,4) have historically been known as some of the best units in Colorado for Pronghorn Antelope hunting. This is conducted as a “spot-and-stalk” hunt.
Craig Colorado is well known as “The Elk Hunting Capital of the World.” With a herd of elk numbering over 25,000, it’s hard to argue with that. Our ranch, which is located 15 miles north of Craig and runs west to just north of the town of Maybell, is located in one of the largest elk migration corridors in the world. We have both resident elk and a huge number of migratory and wintering elk that use the ranch year round. Our elk hunters typically experience success rates of 95% or better on branch-antlered bulls, many of them having several opportunities to harvest a bull during the course of their 5-day hunt.
We feel like we have some of the best mule deer hunting in Northwest Colorado here at RTS Hunting, LLC. Our entire 53,000-acre ranch is prime habitat for mule deer and we are proud to manage our deer herd responsibly for mature bucks. We have both resident and migratory mule deer herds on this ranch. We also offer a few early (September) mule deer hunts, and although you may not see the rutting activity then, this is a great time to hunt mature bucks that are still in bachelor herds and possibly harvest a great deer in full velvet.
