Bull elk are iconic and majestic animals with unique antlers and distinct vocalizations. The elk herds of South Central Wyoming begin their rut during the heart of archery season in September. Bugling bulls can be heard throughout the day, but elk are most active at dawn and dusk. Many migratory elk come down from their high country summer habitat to join the resident herd on the Romios Ranch during the rut and winter months. Romios Outfitters offer both archery and rifle elk hunts.

The moose population in the Snowy Range and Sierra Madre mountain ranges adjacent to the Romios Ranch is the result of northward expansion of the introduced population in northern Colorado. They prefer a habitat dominated by willows and riparian areas with mixed mountain shrubs and aspen. Wyoming moose generally summer at higher elevation in conifer forests and winter in willow and deciduous habitats. Romios Outfitters have knowledge and access to such habitat for their Shiras Moose hunts.

Romios Outfitters use predominately black and tan coonhounds to track and tree these incredible animals. The arid climate, vast vegetation, and diverse topography on the Romios Ranch offers immense habitat for mule deer. Romios Outfitters have a longstanding reputation for quality mule deer hunts. However, winter severity, harvest management, predation, and disease have all played a role in an extreme mule deer population decline in Southern Wyoming. Due to this widespread decline, Romios Outfitters has been forced to limit the number of mule deer hunts they can offer to ensure quality. Black bears ranging in color from black, brown, cinnamon, and blonde have all been found on the Romios Ranch. The State of Wyoming allows both a spring and fall hunting season for black bear. As the snow melts from the high country, the black bears begin to emerge from hibernation and start browsing for food. Likewise, in the fall black bear begin foraging and gaining fat reserves to rely on during winter hibernation. To take advantage of their hunger, Romios Outfitters hunt bear by using private land baits.
