My first hunting experience, and what a place to experience quail hunting. Everything about it was top-notch; the lodging, the staff, the food, and especially the hunting guides. As a rookie hunter, they made me feel like I’d been doing this for years. Incredible experience from start to finish.

I hunted Rio Piedra in Camilla Georgia for the 4th time in January of 2026. Prior hunts were very good, lots of Quail and our guide whose name is Michael was excellent. We always book the next season’s hunt on the day we leave and we reserve our dates for the next year and we reserve Michael as our guide. We were promised Michael would be our guide for 2026. We paid our initial deposit when Rio asked and our final payment when required with the promise that Michael would be our guide. So our dates for the hunt were reserved a full year in advance and Michael was promised as our guide. It wasn’t until we arrived on January 2. 2026 that the owner Beth informed us that Michael would not be our guide. This was completely unacceptable, Beth waited until we arrived to inform us of the change and wouldn’t allow Michael to be our guide. My friend and I had a great relationship with our guide Michael, to not have him guide us as promised was not right, and to make things worse the guide she gave us has no business being a guide in my opinion, he doesn’t handle dogs properly and he doesn’t even understand wing shooting. After paying thousands of dollars to hunt Rio Piedra our trip was ruined and Rio offered us no compensation for our loss. I will never hunt at Rio Piedra again, I’m still shocked that I was treated so poorly after I hunted there four times and spent thousands of dollars at their establishment.

Another year at Rio and more great memories. The hunting was great as usual but the new chef brought more value to our trip. Sam and Beth have a real knack for making you welcome. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The weather didn't work for us on day two but they still got us out for hunting and we were a little soggy but we still had a great time. You can't buy time but you can buy memories that will last you your lifetime.... book the trip!

Everything about this place was first class. If you're on the fence, jump in and go. You won't be disappointed. I'll be back.

From the time you step on the porch at the beautiful lodge until you leave you get the best of the best . Wonderful property to hunt , plentiful birds , great dogs and guides . When you return from a hunt in the evening there is someone to greet you with your favorite beverage . Then experience multiple warm fires , hors d’œuvres and then a wonderfully prepared dinner . The GM has a vision and mission statement for providing superior services and everyone that works on the plantation knows what they are and delivers . Best quail hunt you can ask for . Thanks Rio!!!

I was invited as a guest with a group to participate in a quail hunt at Rio Piedra. Folks this is a first class, top shelf, 5-star venue. The accommodations, the food, the hunt, the hospitality...all second to none! Thank you Sam & Beth for hosting such an absolutely beautiful operation.

My dad and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Rio Piedra in January 2022. The trip was a birthday/Christmas gift for my dad and we couldn’t have had a better time. The lodge is well appointed. We enjoyed watching football on the big screen. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The food was amazing. We definitely did not go hungry! The staff was extremely accommodating. They were always looking for ways to serve and take care of the guests. While everything else was great the hunting was absolutely the best part. Our guide, Josiah, was very knowledgeable, he was able to give us some helpful tips, and his dogs were the best we have ever seen. We saw a TON of birds. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful, tranquil hunting lodge! Great setting on the Flint River. Excellent staff and service!

Great guides, great staff, gracious hosts, beautiful plantation and awesome facilities. Have been going there now for ten years, consistent high quality bird hunting in a class of its own. Large coveys, fast birds, and oh yea, some good shoal bass fishing too.Great place to get away from it all and to enjoy the outdoors. Would give it six stars if I could.

I have been to Rio Piedra twice with my son and we had a fantastic time. I have been to facilities all the the country and this is first class and yet very down to earth owners. My only complaint is that my 22 year old son at the time ditched me one night for a date with a beautiful southern girl we met while there. She was cute as a button!! So much for father son bonding.

I was invited as a guest from Intermountain Wood Inc.. The facilities we're fantastic and the food amazing. I think my favorite part was the dogs working to find and scare up the birds. I had two different guides who were very knowledgeable about the area. I recommend this to anyone, it won't disappoint. Next time I go I want to take my wife!

Visiting Rio is a fantastic experience. The most important part, for me, of a trip like this is the food and believe me this place does not disappoint! The lodge has a very friendly atmosphere during the times when no one is hunting and I enjoyed sharing drinks and stories with the other interesting guests. If you forget any gear, there are items to be purchased in the lodge. All of the staff was helpful and professional. You don't go to Rio Piedra solely for the accommodations, however. The hunting was a blast (no pun intended) on very well managed grounds. The open jeeps we're fun although if it is cold, be sure to bring along a warm hat for the ride. All three of the guides I hunted with (Shaun, Josh, and Drew) we're entertaining and worked hard to get us on birds. Drew had easily the best trained dogs. Shaun would be good for beginners or hunters who do not hunt often as he is good at managing the hunt and providing tips or pointers (pun intended). Josh is at his best with experienced hunters who aren't afraid of a little effort. He was having dog problems but was the most spirited, and we had the most exciting hour of the whole trip stomping through tall brush to find the most birds I have ever seen (easily 150 to 200 in an hour!!). All around, Bill and Anne have created something awesome there and, the privilege to go to Rio is not one that you should pass on!

I just returned from my very first trip to the Rio. All I can say is...awesome! The facilities are first class. Great staff, great food, great hunting. These folks go over the top to make sure you have everything you need. All of the guides and dogs are superb. I really appreciated the emphasis they put on safety for the hunters, guides and the dogs. Hopefully there will be many more trips to the Rio for me. Thank you Rio for a great time !!

Truly a remarkable place. The hunting was excellent. Guides were professional and experienced. Dogs were some of the best I have hunted over. OK that is all you should expect right? well the lodging and food were premier. We stayed in one of the cabins that was a short walk to lodge, and it was well appointed, very roomy and nicer than most 5 star resorts. And on top of all that I can't say enough about the staff, whose food and attention were exceptional. Top it off with a family feel as we were tended to by the owners, Bill and Anne at every turn. More than one guy was caught talking about how he wished his wife could see what they were missing.
