I had an absolutely amazing experience with Palmer Outfitters last year during 2nd rifle. First I would like to start off with these guys were organized. I had been up for a few days when I met up with them due to work, and family matters. I met my guide Jerett before we were going to head into camp. Jerett went above and beyond for the 7 days we worked together. Didn't just feel like I was working with a guide, but I was making a friend as well. He motivated me everyday to push myself harder and stay positive. We were able to get into elk interaction almost everyday, but positioning and wind is everything. On the final day Jerett bumped some elk over the top of a knob and we were able to stock in, and be successful. Definitely recommend them. Just remember your abilities determine your success. An outfitter can give you opportunities, but you have to be ready to capitalize on those opportunities.

There's Elk, Pronghorn, and Mule Deer everywhere! Brian put me and others up in beautiful B&B. They already had 17 Bulls down for the year before we got there and within 36 hours on the open high desert plains of Colorado all three of us Hunters were tagged out thanks to his two young guides Nick and Lane. My two mile stalk and 185 yard shot in open desert alone was amazing! Palmer Outfitters Delivers!!

I just spent 4 days July valvet elk hunting with Brian Palmer. While I did not shoot a elk I consider it a successfully hunt. 2 out of 3 hunters in our group shot respectable 5x5 valvet elk. I had several chances to shoot a decent bull. I chose to hold out for a bigger animal. On two different occasions we spotted good size 6x6s and stalked them for several hours but we're not able to get the shot. I had to cut out trip short due to a family emergency of one of my fellow hunters. I am confident within a few more days I would of tagged my once and a life time trophy valvet elk. Brian is extremely knowledgeable of this land and these elk. I have never had a guide that worked as hard as Brian, he truly wants you to get your elk. On my last day, the morning hunt we saw a shooter, we stalked it for over 2 hours and lost it in the high brush. Brian urged me to sit it out all day till the evening hunt where it would probably stand up to feed. I was not patient enough to sit that long. If I had listened to Brian I probably would of shot that bull. I can't thank you enough Brian Palmer for great experience. I will be back !!!!

Just finished a private land valley hunt with Palmer outfitters. 3 of us got nice bulls the first day. This is not a canned hunt. You gotta work and stalk and shoot straight. We were set up nicely for all to fill our tags. Brian Palmer is a class act who knows about elk. His guides were outstanding, very helpful. Lots of land and good number of elk. I’m a disabled hunter, Brian bent over backwards to help be get my elk. Highly recommend.

Karen... The guy who was out of shape and missed 4-5 times was a gentleman that y'all brought down form the mountain hunt because he was too out of shape for the hunt. Me and my son had no shot opportunity in a week. Get your facts straight. My review was just the truth.

The review left by James McKnight is completely inaccurate. I was personally on hand for this group and the four of them had exclusive access to a 5000 acre ranch, with two guides, and a herd of elk. One hunter filled his tag and took a nice 5 x 5 bull. The other guys declined the opportunity to “wait for something bigger “. Brian does not promote his hunts as “trophy” hunts, nor should he blamed for the hunters that fire several times and can’t hit their target. Further more, if you are too out of shape to make it ten feet from the truck elk hunting may not be the sport for you, maybe try bowling or shuffle board next time.

Not what I expected. Website said 100,000 acres of private land with 90% success rate. We only saw 4 properties with maybe 3,000 acres combined. Had to hunt land with no food on it and look at elk on other properties that had alfalfa Fields but couldn't hunt em. Got put up in a trailer that needed to ratacet strap the door closed at night to keep it from popping open on its own. They had 9 hunters in the mountains and 5 in the valley with 3 elk killed total. Not even close to 90%. Guides we're nice guys did things by the book and worked good with what they had to work with. Outfitter even told when it was over that he had lost most of his valley land. Very misleading. Do some research and hunt somewhere else.

I've hunted with Palmer Outfitters numerous times and have had exceptional success. Most hunters that go with Brian are out of shape and expect to walk right up to elk and kill them. If you're doing a mountain hunt and out of shape it's not his fault if you can't hunt much. Keep in mind it's an elk hunt at 10k elevation. For people who don't want to "hunt" go on a private land hunt where you don't have to hike. Just drive and shoot. I love Palmer outfitters and will always go back to hunt with them.

We spent 5 days in the mountains hiking to (2 different elk camps) and on horse back for 10+ hours and never saw a bull elk. It became really apparent to me and my hunting buddy that they book way too many hunters, and make promises they can't keep because the area gets shot up. We got the distinct feeling from the guides that there was little chance of comming close to getting an elk. Do your research and find an outfit that has good personal references!
