Just returned from hunting wild pigs with a group of buddies at Oak Stone. It was a great hunt! Unlike other outfitters I have hunted with over the years on the Central Coast you actually have to get out there and hunt these pigs. Some outfitters offer more of a "shoot" than a "hunt" but the guides at Oak Stone work hard to get you an opportunity. The property is beautiful and the accommodations and food were outstanding. Definitely be going back.

It would be hard to surpass the wild pig hunting experience that my sons, son-in-law and grandson recently shared at Oakstone Outfitters. Chad Wiebe and his crew worked hard to make our hunt fun, productive and memorable. Our guides were professional, knowledgeable and determined to provide us with shot opportunities which they did do. The accommodations were extremely comfortable, the outdoor patio and fire pit a great place to sit and relax, and the meals were great. The target range was well equipped and organized and safety was always emphasized at the range and in the field. But...it was the attitude, courtesy and work ethic displayed by Chad and every member of his crew that really made all of this work for us...we will be back. Don't hesitate to book your hunt with this outfit.

I have done I think 5 hunts with Oakstone Outfitters over the last 7 years. Some hunts with adult friends, some with my kids, and in all cases the guides and staff do a great job of making us feel welcome and accommodating us to ensure we have a great time. Have been successful with deer, hogs, and turkeys. We really enjoy the accommodations and food on the ranch, and the ability to get some shooting practice at the range or even go fishing during some of the downtime between morning and evening hunts.

The price of the class and the experience I had were great. John ( Bitchy Butcher) was great! He was extremely knowledgeable and made sure we left without any questions or doubts. I drove 4.5 hours to this class and it was worth every penny. Not all about hunting but how to do it humanely and make sure no meat goes to waste. Hopefully they have other courses.

I have been hunting turkeys with Oak Stone Outfitters every year for the last 11years. We have been successful 100% of the time. We always get on Turkeys and the guides always call them in close enough to shoot. The guides go above and beyond to scout the day before and put us in position to be successful. I have also pig hunted 3 times with Oak Stone, also, 100% success on the pigs. They have 2 lodges, I have stayed at both. I reccomend both. They have access to all different kinds of ranches along the central coast. They continue to pick up ranches because the land owners know how well Oak Stone repects and manages the land for long term success and continued game harvest. Word spreads quick when you do it right. You better book before I do!

Class material should note (if it doesn’t already) that pants and shoes will likely get soiled, so wear appropriate clothing. A classroom introduction explaining the various cuts with diagrams might be useful before getting into the hands-on instruction.

Hunting at Oak Stone Outfitters is the closest I have experienced to hunting in Africa. You cover large distances through beautiful ranches in order to spot the pigs before stalking. After the hunt you return to comfortable accommodations and great food.

What an experience. The ranch is huge - sprawling and accessible, and of course beautiful. The scale of the place is hard to describe. Food was full-on high quality home cooking. Accommodations comfortable, clean and warm (I mean welcoming warm - the A/C was much appreciated). The game was plentiful. Hunter, our guide, was expertly skilled, patient, good-natured and persistent. We saw and admired eagles, deer, elk, pigs, hawks, band-tailed pigeons. And lots of them. They struck an unusual balance of laid-back and professional. The game skinning and cleaning facilities were extremely clean and commercial grade. Five stars all day long and I hope to go back.
