Experience the ultimate wilderness elk hunt in one of the most remote locations in the lower 48 states. Our Early Rut-Rifle & Archery packages take you deep into Montana's Bob Marshall backcountry, with a 15-mile horseback ride to our base camp near the headwaters of the Spotted Bear River. Located against the Continental Divide and bordering the Sun River Game Preserve, our hunting grounds produce impressive public land bulls that are coming in and out of the game preserve. We hold a unique advantage with our September 15th rifle season opening, allowing hunters to pursue elk during the early rut – an opportunity only found in the remote Wilderness Areas in the West. This physically demanding adventure requires true grit, but rewards determined hunters with opportunities to pursue trophy elk in genuine wilderness. Our seasoned guides, supported by strong horses and mules, lead you through this rugged terrain where few hunters venture. This hunting package is 8 days in the Wilderness including lodging and meals at the Wilderness Lodge before and after your hunt.
