I haven’t had the chance to experience a trip with Montana High Country. However I’ve seen the place firsthand and met the folks who run it. Barbie and Jeff they’re first-class people through and through. You can tell when something’s built with heart, and that’s exactly what you feel here. Between the snowmobiling, bull elk and moose hunts, and more. Maverick mountain 2 miles historically has some of the best skiing in Montana , The pioneer Mountains has everything Montana stands for — wide-open beauty, adventure, and genuine people who love what they do. From what I’ve seen, their guides are top-notch, and the views are nothing short of breathtaking. With a 96% kill rate 2025. If you’re looking for a sporting excursion that delivers both world-class outdoors and down-to-earth hospitality, Montana High Country is it. I’m looking forward to the day I get to experience it for myself. Check it out

WOW!!!! Our first trip out to Montana and we couldn’t have picked a better place. All the staff at Montana High Country were amazing. This is a fantastic get away for the family. Snowmobile riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, skiing, and relaxing. Heaven on earth.

We recently returned from our second trip to Montana High Country. This place is truly a slice of heaven. The owners, Aaron and Kim, have done an amazing job to create a warm and inviting environment. Rooms and accommodations are great. The view from the lodge is absolutely breathtaking. Barbie and Jeff prepare the most wonderful meals, and make sure you have anything and everything you could possibly need. Our snowmobile guides, Dustin, Caden, and Robert, are so knowledgeable, ensuring everyone has an amazing time on the trails. We are so thankful for everyone at Montana High Country and hope to return again next snowmobile season.
★★★★★
Three of us came for the snowmobiling. We had no experience. Our guide, Robert was great! He made it fun, interesting and with a variety of riding areas. He even started a fire and made us smores! We were not staying at the lodge, but all the staff made us feel welcome. This is a “must do” if you haven’t been snowmobiling before, or even if you have. I can see why they have people that come to this amazing lodge every year!

Montana High County Lodge hosted the Wild Med Adventures CME conference I attended with 12 others. Aaron and Kim are gracious hosts of their beautiful property with large comfortable rooms, and plenty of space to relax, or gather with others in front of the large fireplace. Jeff and Barbie prepared great meals, and easily accommodated special dietary choices. You will not go hungry during your stay. Dustin, Robert, and Kaden guided our snowmobiling adventures in the nearby Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest with the expertise you would expect. They handled everything from new to seasoned riders, everyone had a blast. If you prefer to ski, Maverick Mountain is just down the road and is a hidden gem of great skiing on uncrowded slopes at an amazingly affordable price. I will be returning to MHCL for more adventures. They also guide for fishing and hunting(bear, mule deer, elk, and more).

We just completed our second stay at Montana High Country, and once again, it did not disappoint! The snowmobiling experience was absolutely fantastic. They did an excellent job of breaking us into groups based on skill level, ensuring that everyone had a great time—whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider. The food was amazing! Each meal was delicious and satisfying, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The guides and house staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and their wealth of knowledge about the area truly enhanced our experience. We also discovered the local ski area, which is a hidden gem, and the hot springs were the perfect way to relax and unwind after a day of riding. Overall, our time at Montana High Country was unforgettable, and we can't wait to return for more adventures in the future!

Booked for much needed R&R for a day. Our stay was amazing and beyond hope and expectation! The rooms, food and hospitality were truly exceptional! Snowmobile trails were great, too. Definitely planning another trip to MHC!

Me and my dad did our first true hunting trip with them and we had Teron as our guide. On the first day we got my duck on day two we got my dad’s buck and day three I got my elk. He did an amazing job understanding our goals and physical abilities. All the guides were amazing especially when I wanted to go with to hike in and get my elk not getting back till 10pm. Love the fact they had a butcher come right to the lodge.

This Lodge was an amazing experience. It was more than I had ever expected it to be. The view there is just another reminder of how great our God is. The Chef and his lovely wife took great care of us and treated us like royalty. The guide Roddy, was fantastic and drove us around showed us amazing hospitality. We will be back.
★★★★★
The hunting lodge and team are spectacular! My son and I experienced a guided elk hunt while my wife hung out at the lodge. The guide that helped my son and I was amazing. All the guides work together to ensure the success of each hunter. It is hard work. The staff, manager, and owners are wonderful!

You could not ask for a more beautiful and peaceful place to spend some time hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, horse riding, skiing/snowboarding, visiting hot springs, historic little towns, and just enjoying the super peaceful lodge. This place really offers up so much for anyone at any pace. We had a good sized crew of our family and friends out during snowmobile season and roddy and Aaron, and the other guides gave us the ride of our lives. They make sure your safe and have a great time with you. Food is wonderful, environment and staff are super friendly and funny and they make you feel right at home. We will be back next year!!!

MHCT was the vacation/memory making trip I didn’t know I needed, and now I can’t imagine not going back. The entire experience was 5/5 stars. The lodge was clean, comfortable, cozy and just the place you wanted to relax after a long day of adventures. The staff was professional, personal, fun, and of course kept safety and health in mind. The food we had at each meal was incredible! My trip was during the first part of January, so this meant lots of snow! The activities available, snowmobiling, skiing at Maverick Mountain, sight seeing, hot springs at Elkhorn, and much more were so much fun. If you are debating on booking, I promise it will be worth it! The views from the porch of the mountains covered in snow were some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. Don’t miss out on experiencing a trip of a life time!

Words can't describe the beauty and peacefulness this part of Montana brings to your soul. My wife and I, and few other friends had the opportunity to see this place for ourselves. It doesn't matter what your reasons may be to come to a place like this. It may be to getaway or you're looking for an adventure. Either way, you get the best of both worlds. The food, the service, the kindness of others that are there will give you hope for humanity!! It is God's creation that were made for us to enjoy!!! So enjoy it!!!

After following all directions and planning your trip it will be taken away and given to other guest but there are other outfitters you can spend your money with

If you want peace, tranquility, beautiful scenery, fun, adventures, and to be catered to by the most amazing people you will ever meet, then Montanna High County is definitely the place!! From airport pick up to drop off we were treated better than any five star resort we have ever been to. The lodge was spacious and modern with the relaxing feeling of home. The view was picturesque and gave you a feeling immediate calm and peace. Beds and furniture new and comfortable. Talk about adventures this place had it it in droves. Snowmobiling in the Montanna mountain tops and trails was as close to Heaven on earth that you could get. Machines were like new and ran great. Now the most amazing part of the experience the Montanna High Country staff. Roddy kept us going from adventure to adventure. He was patient and knowledgeable as we navigated our days riding, skiing or simply relaxing. Dominic was always making sure we had what we needed and made sure we were comfortable and safe. Mickie and Julie kept us fed like kings and queens with the most amazing meals. The breakfasts and dinners brought back memories of setting at Grandmas table with family sharing our lives with each other. When you leave this place you will miss everything that you have just experienced. This hidden secret slice of heaven will not be secret for long I assure you that. I have already booked for next year and see this being our permanent winter destination. No more Colorado, Utah, or Tahoe for this family because Montanna High Country has checks ALL the boxes and does it in a much more intimate way. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP OR ADVENTURE.

There are not enough words to describe how wonderful Montana High Country Lodge is. The place is beautiful surrounded by mountains and the rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. We went to ride snow mobiles and our guides, Domo and Roddy, were incredible. They took us on an adventure and we loved every minute of it. They went above and beyond on our excursion. I can not say enough about Mickey and Julie. The food was amazing (the best food I have ever had) and they made sure we never went hungry. The people who run this place are truly a rare find and I would highly recommend visiting!!

Great people. Had a lot of fun.

My wife and I just got back from our trip to Montana High Country in Polaris, MT and our trip was so incredible! From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and comfortable like we were at home away from home! The lodge is beautiful and is nestled between mountains and surrounded by national forest. The staff were some of the most friendly people I've ever met and they were so helpful the entire week. I truly felt like I was leaving good friends behind by the end of our trip. Here are things I loved about our trip. Staff - Roddy, Domonic (Domo), and Mickey knew their stuff and were so friendly and helpful. I am big on customer service and they left a big impression on me and how well they served their guests. Lodge - The new owners of the property have updated the lodge and made it feel so comfortable and cozy! Everything was clean and well maintained. The main common area had a big fireplace and tv with very comfortable seating where you are able to look out of massive floor to ceiling windows at the gorgeous views of the mountains. Our bedroom was comfortable with super soft sheets and a new mattress. It has a real cabin feel and the atmosphere really lets you relax. Food - I can't say enough good things about the food. Literally every single meal that we ate while we were there was delicious! I mean, even the sandwiches that we packed to eat lunch on our snowmobile trip were delicious (they used really good sandwich meat and specialty cheeses). The meals we ate while we were there were some of the best I've had and I was not hungry one time on the trip. They really feed you here! We also got to eat some unique things like elk burgers, elk tacos, and mule deer chili so I really enjoyed that (elk is amazing by the way). Snowmobile - They have a lot of snowmobiles at the lodge and we were able to go on snowmobile trips where we left right from the lodge. This was one of my favorite things I've ever done. We rode miles and miles of trails and roads all through the mountains and got to see some of the most beautiful sights. On the snowmobile day we packed a lunch and they took us way up in the mountains where we stopped at a warming hut and ate. There was a fireplace inside and they built a fire. This was such a cool experience. They also took us out to a meadow and let us "play." We got to ride around and have some fun making our own paths out there and test our skills. Roddy and Domo were really good guides! What I like about them is that they will challenge you if you want to be challenged but will make sure you feel safe and comfortable. Skiing - Maverick Mountain is about 5 minutes from Montana High Country and is a cool, old-school ski resort. It's not the most fancy ski place, but it was really cool. When we went, it was only $60 for everything (lift ticket, ski rental, helmet, boots, poles, etc.) It was nice skiing here because it wasn't real touristy and there weren't a lot of people there. The slopes were wide open where you had a lot of room. Elkhorn Hot Springs - This was also about 5 minutes from the lodge and was so nice after a day of snowmobiling and skiing. Bannack Ghost Town - This is about a 15 minute drive from the lodge. Bannack is a town that was built as people were mining for gold. It is now a state park and the buildings are still in tact. There's a lot of history in this place and is definitely worth a visit! The Views - not much to say about this except it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The views are breathtaking If you want a vacation where you can escape from it all and have a vacation that is tailored to you, then this is the place to go. If you want high adventure, you can get it. If you want to relax, there's no better place. I really cannot recommend this place enough.
★★★★★
The lodge is absolutely beautiful. The room was very nice with spectacular views. The food was fantastic and served family style so we could visit and share our stories Roddy and his crew treated us well. It was a comfortable and relaxing stay. The trout fishing was fantastic too. We can’t wait to come back for snowmobile season!
★★★★★
Great lodge...all what Montana is about from the views to the hospitality. Recommend to anyone looking for an outing, fishing, hunting.
★★★★★
We went there for the Beaverhead SnoRiders Poker Run and it was a great place to host it from. The new owners have really done a great job of updating and they make you feel so at home! We can't wait to come back!
★★★★★
Once in a lifetime experience! Outstanding food, service, hospitality and the outdoor adventure is the most fun I’ve had in 4 days in my life. Highly recommend.
★★★★★
Just had the best 5-day adventure with Montana High Country. The lodge has the best staff- from Roddy organizing our snowmobiling and skiing trips to Dominic guiding us through the mountains to Micki cooking the best 3-meals a day! Dominic guided us all over the Pioneer Mountains in two 40-mile rides. We had so much fun riding the trails and playing in the deep powder. We also did a ski day at Maverick Mountain which was only a 5-minute ride from the lodge. Roddy dropped us off at the front door and got our tickets and ski rentals set up ahead of time for us. Montana High Country’s lodge and operation is 1st class in every way!
