This was our first year hunting quail at Live Oak and we were thoroughly impressed. Kristin, and Kayla did a great job making us feel welcome. Guide John made the experience fun and the accommodations were top shelf. Food prepared by Chef Sam was fabulous. Quail were plentiful and the only thing lacking was my marksmanship. We look forward to returning next year.

My son and I have taken several fishing trips to Canada. This year we decided to try a southern bass fishing trip. We chose Live Oak and were not disappointed. Live Oak Plantation is simply spectacular. John was a fabulous guide during our 3 days of fishing, knowing the lakes like the back of his hand. I think he was the most attentive guide we have ever had. The accomodations and meals were equally impressive. We will be back!

Can't wait to come back! The people here are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and nicely furnished in a casual but upscale hunting/fishing lodge style. There are plenty of amenities (drinks, snacks, pool table, etc). The meals stand out. You'll have some of the best Southern cooking (and hospitality) that you will ever have. So, it's a nice place just to hang out, but it's a great place to fish. The ponds look like they should be full of bass...and they are. Big ones, even. Jeff Blanton, bass guide magnifico, did his usual great job of figuring out where they were and what they were biting.

Had a fantastic day and a half at Live Oak. Staff is exceptional, accomodating and make you feel very welcome. The rooms are large and comfortable. Absolutely picturesque South Georgia plantation. Sat out next to the golf green and just enjoyed the starry sky. They set out a charcutierre board that was delicious but the Shrimp and grits dinner was out of sight. Think "Beat Bobby Flay" kinda good. Lunch was deboned fried quail that was perfectly fried and seasoned. Breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon and a big ole biscuit the kind your grandma makes. Our guide Trevor Cox did a super job in the heat, he has some great dogs, they didn't bowl the birds over and worked perfectly. Birds flew really well being as hot as it was. He did a great job of keeping the pace slow in the heat for us old guys. They have a pheasant tower shoot field that if your group is big enough you can have a pheasant shoot one afternoon with advanced notice. Several ponds on the property and fishing is an option. Cant say anything but great things about Live Oak, its the kind of place you can bring your family and have a great time. I plan to return.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! What an outstanding experience. From the ease of reservations to the best of hospitality, this is the place to visit with friends, family or business guests. We hired two boats and guides for a day of bass fishing and boated over 100 bass with weights up to 7 pounds in the heat of August. Unbelievable experience. And the accommodations and food were off the charts. Miss Debi made sure we were very well and deliciously fed and Kendall and the rest of the staff made us feel right at home. Guides Justin and PeeWee (John) put us on fish all day and kept us laughing the whole time. I am definitely coming back and suggest you make a visit too!

Live Oak delivers what it promises. A great outdoor experience with fantastic food, lodging and hospitality. Each meal was off the charts. Ribeye steaks from their home-grown Angus beef, shrimp and grits to die for, home-made desserts. You get the picture. The guest house was comfortable with plenty of indoor space, large porches and deck. The people made the difference. Mary took care of us. Debbie fed us like family and our fishing guide Jeff Blanton was a pro.

My sister and I spent 2 peaceful nights at the Bed & Breakfast here. It was an all around wonderful experience. The grounds are beautiful, the lodge is amazing, beds are comfy, staff is super friendly and helpful, the amenities are great, and the breakfasts are Amazing!! Debbie's grits are the bomb diggity! Walk the grounds, spy on hummingbirds, play some pool, kayak, hit a few golf balls, shoot some clays.....lots to do. Try the Live Oak Plantation B&B. You will not be disappointed!

I would give 10 Stars if I could. Hands down an a great experience from start to finish. From calling to book a trip to leaving, the staff was outstanding. Mary and Debbie; well done ladies! Extremely friendly and hospitality on another level. The ladies in the kitchen, food was phenomenal. Our fishing guides Art and Les, man these guys know their stuff. Just great guys all around. They let you fish but offer great advise. At least 3 times Les said hey you have this lure, 3 cast later I was hooked up. Do yourself a favor and stop looking and book here, you won’t be disappointed. We I’ll definitely be back.
