I've hunted with Shane for years now and have great success. He knows the ranches well and where the deer are. Great guide. He can tailor the hunt whichever way you want to go. We have thrown up tree stands mid way through hunt because we saw activity.. We have even thrown up ground blinds as well.Great cozy amenities and hes a hell of a cook. Coffee is always ready in morning as well! Target rich environment !

Lazy Horse Outfitters is truly one of a kind! My husband has hunted with Shane for nearly a decade, and every year he comes back with incredible stories and experiences. As a hunter’s wife, I also look forward to our trips to Orofino. The house is cozy, comfortable, and has everything you need—it feels like a home away from home. Shane is not only a knowledgeable guide but also a phenomenal host. He makes sure everyone is taken care of, and he won’t let me lift a finger in the kitchen. His down-home country cooking is absolutely delicious—every meal feels like a treat! Our son loves it here too. When my husband gets a buck, Shane takes us along to help recover it, which has been such a special and educational experience for him. During downtime, we enjoy exploring Orofino—there are plenty of things to do, from walking around town to hiking near the lake, all just a short distance from the house. Whether you’re here to hunt or to relax and explore, Lazy Horse Outfitters offers an unforgettable experience. Shane goes above and beyond, and we’re grateful to have made so many wonderful memories here over the years. Highly recommend!
