My guide jd when above and behind to make those hunts successful. The other guide were awesome as well they all help eachother out and help the hunters. The cook D was a great cook and we never went hungry. I already booked a second trip for this year highly recommend j&d outfitters

★★★★★This was my first time ever using an outfitter for a hunt and this outfit was incredible! I say that having not harvested an animal (archery antelope hunting for the very first time) but it was not for a lack of trying or a lack of antelope, they're just incredibly difficult to hunt with a bow. My guide Todd worked his butt off from before sunrise to sunset trying to get me an opportunity. Then coming back to the ranch to Johnny's home cooking every evening to end the day(s). This was an absolutely incredible experience leaving me with amazing memories! I'll be back for certain (but maybe with a rifle next time).

★★★★★After 10 years of chasing elk and never connecting I gave J&D a call. What an amazing archery season. Connected with a bull on day one of my hunt. The guide, Joe, or “kiwi” is a machine. He called in over 70 elk in 4 hours. I had so many elk on me I couldn’t move for 45 minutes. At last light I was able to shoot one and the care the ENTIRE team put in to getting my bull handled was so efficient and fast. This is the premier outfitting service in Colorado. I will be rebooking yearly. I can’t say enough good things about the facility and the camp chef, Kathy. Make sure you lose 10-15lbs before you head out here, you’ll eat at least that much in food through out the day, all of it hand made and excellent. This is a tight run shop. If you want to have the hunt of a lifetime, book now, fast. They run a 90% or better rebook rate. Thank you so much Joe, Kathy and Dustin for making ten years in the making an amazing experience and treating me so well.
★★★☆☆I did the first elk rifle hunt in Montrose. First the good: The camp cook is great and the guides are friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. Now the bad: There are no elk. We spent several days hiking thru beautiful country, glassing the morning and evening hunts and I did not see or hear an elk the entire time. In fact, none of the six hunters in camp even had an opportunity. When I returned home in late October, the owner called and stated that what I experienced was highly unusual. He promised to reach out to me to try to get me on one of his other properties for next year. He said that I “would definitely hear something by Thanksgiving”. It is now January and I have not heard a thing.

This was my first mule deer hunt and I didn’t know what to expect. Danny was very patient with me and did a great job teaching me about mule deer hunting and I bagged a monster! Doyle Worbington, the owner, runs a first class operation! Highly recommend J&D Outfitters!
★★☆☆☆We hunted Cripple Creek. I’m not sure where the name came from because we could hardly find a single elk hobbling around let alone any quality ones to take a shot at. We had hard working, personable guides and a great camp cook but there was a complete paucity of animals. As you can imagine, neither my friend nor I planned on waiting all year to drop thousands of dollars on a bird watching trip. More than the money, we wish we had our time back so we could’ve gone somewhere else on an actually quality hunt this year. Instead we will have to wait another year and live with the frustration of this season. I’ve hunted elk many times in several different states and have yet to come across a place that is so obviously overhunted—especially on private ground. We hiked 10+ miles on several of the days and did not see a single elk during those days. We only had one chance at a legal bull, though it was a raghorn 5 point that one would consider turning down even on a DIY public land hunt. It was definitely not an animal you’d pay this kind of money to pursue. For private ground, this was more than disappointing. My veteran opinion is that there just can’t be that many animals here, and I’d strongly recommend going somewhere else

★★★★★Hunted with Jason out on the East Plains properties for Mule Deer. The accommodations were great, the food was better, and the game we saw everyday was even better. The comraderee between all of the guides was impressive. If you are looking for a good deer to mount this is the place to go.
