Let me start by saying wow this place is amazing the people the service 10 out of 10 , Tom was my guide for the week knows the the land and the Elk , Sept the Elk are bugling the temps are in the 30 f at night 50 in the day , beautiful, logging you have your on room bath the cooks are out of this world, if you and your Son , Daughter, Wife ,who ever this is once in a lifetime hunt

I have hunted here for 18 years. They treat you like you’re part of the family. They always go above and beyond for client satisfaction. The guides are very knowledgeable. This is truly a part of God’s masterpiece. This is a turnkey family operation from the hunt, the harvest, packaging to taxidermy.

Went on an early season elk hunt this year. The experience was greater than I could have hoped for. I live in Colorado and have seen most of the state, but I don't think there is a better ranch anywhere. The amenities are top notch. The hospitality is so nice. They make you feel like you are part of their family. You will see more elk, aspens, and beautiful scenery than you could imagine. If you are on the fence about going, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed. I am already planning my next trip back. It truly is an experience of a lifetime.

Tom mc cloud will lye and charge you when the guide makes a mistake! I when for a cow hunt and my guide Ralph told me to shot a particular cow and it was A yearly that cost me $3750. For 55lbs of meat. Plus he’s had hunters leave because of the quides trying to mis lead them on the size of the bull.

Hunted Elk on this place. Was told repeatedly that you pay the price quoted regardless of if the guides estimate is correct or not. When mine came back wrong the owner, Tom McLeod, threatened to throw me off the ranch if I didn't pay the higher price while holding a loaded pistol. The jerk scored it over himself and refused to accept the score sheet of his own official scorer. Worst hunting experience of my life. Only time I've ever feared for my life while in a hunting lodge. NEVER go to this place or trust a McLeod and never turn your back on him either.

Looking for a neat place to stay instead of camping while traveling through Western Colorado around Black Canyon. Homestead Ranch provided among the best experiences I've ever had while hunting. From the incredible landscape of their ranch to the amazingly well-managed elk herd, everything I had hoped for was met or exceeded! The lodge is comfortable and nicely appointed. The bar is well-stocked and the home-cooked meals couldn't be better. Most importantly, the staff and guides are just an incredible group of people that go far out of their way to ensure each hunter has the best possible experience and chance to bag a trophy bull elk. I cannot recommend Honestead Ranch more highly, and I will be returning as soon as my schedule allows!

I just got back from the Homestead Ranch and my experience was absolutely perfect. Allow extra time when driving to the ranch to stop and take pictures of the absolutely stunning views along the way. Upon my arrival, even though it was my first visit, I was greeted like an old friend. The lodge is great- comfortable and "homey". There are many pictures of the "old" days as the ranch has been in the family for generations and the history is amazing. My room was spacious and the bed comfy and warm. The meals were outstanding- granted perhaps not healthy- but hearty, tasty and plentiful! I found the guides knowledgeable, outgoing, skilled, and nothing less than fantastic. If you have a chance to visit the ranch I would highly recommend it!
