Stayed for 2 days drift fishing; one day on the river by the lodge, the second at the Miracle Mile. Well appointed facility with spectacular views of the North Platte below. Guides are top notch, very knowledgeable and hard working. Facilities are very pleasant, well prepared food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were there during the very high flows of summer 2019. There are some huge trout here..I caught one at 23#, and missed one that felt certainly like the heaviest of the trip. All the rest were larger than any trout I have caught before. Your choice stripping or drifting flies. Our only concern for Grey Reef was one of possibly over selling : this is a premium trout fishing river. You may catch some whoppers; but this is not guaranteed! If you go there expecting to catch 30 fish over 20# a day, you may well be disappointed...why the expectation? We caught about 6-10 both days. Our guides were genuinely pleased to guide us as they had been recently harangued for not putting them onto ridiculous numbers of large trout. It's fishing, not catching. Some days you win big; other days you may not. We will return.

You won't and can't be disappointed here.... Even when it is snowing sideways with wind-chill of 10 and wind at 20mph! Book three days because each day weather will be different.

I float a lot throughout the west and there's no better group of guides to fish with. The Reef has so much to offer when it comes to consistent catches. The fish are big and healthy, and there's lots of them. If you like nymphing and pounding the banks with streamers nothing beats it. And if there's a hopper season, that's just icing on the cake.

We spent two days fishing with Aiden Cridlebaugh out of the Grey Reef Anglers fishing lodge. He is extremely knowledgeable, energetic, very encouraging and a great teacher, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we have a great experience at every level. In addition to being a great guide, he is a great person to be around. We caught a lot of big fish and had a lot of laughs. At one point Leatha had lost a couple of good fish just before she got them to the boat. The next time, we were near the bank and before we knew it Aiden had dropped anchor and was netting the fish 20 or 30 feet from the boat. We are repeat clients. And GRA lodge is an experience not to be missed. We figured it would just be more convenient to stay and eat at the lodge. It turns out there is a five star chef making the meals. Tasty breakfasts that get you on the river in the morning and white linen quality dinners served casually in the evening.

First time at Grey Reef Anglers. We were both extremely impressed with the whole experience. Our guide Bryant kept us in the fish all day. All the guides it seemed were super experienced. Maybe 30 total but at least 8 over 20” and two about 26”. Killer day then come back to well appointed lodge with great rooms and killer views and Stewart taking care of everything. BUT Matt and Shannon were off the map with gourmet dinners and homemade desserts and delicious breakfast sammies and hot coffee all prepared. The entire deal was first class and reasonably priced in this day. Kudos and nice job everyone. We’ll be back.

My friend and I are experienced anglers. We hired a guide through this outfitter for a float trip on the North Platte River. His name is Nick. My friend and I are recovering from bad injuries, and Nick was very careful and attentive to us. He knows this river like the back of his hand. He got us on some absolute hogs, was very organized, gentle in instruction, and he is an excellent oarsman. This outfitter does fishing and hunting trips, and we will be giving them our business for both in the future. Great group of guys running this operation. Highly recommend seeking them out if you are looking for fish or birds.

This was my third fishing trip with Jason. Despite a very slow and hot day on the river, he put us on some nice fish. Jason worked incredibly hard and his boat-handling skills are superb. He's patient and he knows every inch of the Platte--and I mean every single hole, cut bank, eddy, riffle...all of it. He also has a good sense of humor and seems to still love fishing and guiding after all the years he's been doing it. I always leave with new skills too; this time I learned some great tips for fishing big streamers. We stayed in the lodge and it was nice. Very informal and comfortable.
