Very good vibe. Food cannot be better. Francine is a great hostess. Internet is a optimal but present. Guides were great. Nymphs fishing was spectacular. Many Browns and rainbows over 20 in. Overall, great fishing experience.

A Five Star experience on all the elements of what a great fishing lodge should be. Our second visit. Fishing, guides, food and service are all excellent. The Forresters run a terrific operation with very professional staff. Francine is a wonderful hostess, very accomodating, and thinks of all the little things that make a difference. The best food on the river possibly in the state of Montana

Forrester’s is a premier fly fishing lodge and may be one of a kind in that they serve 5 star gourmet food. The fishing is incredible. Double digit numbers of trout caught and all average 18-20” or more. We caught Browns, Rainbows, Cuttbows and even some Native Whitefish. Ray was an excellent guide, very patient and knowledgeable. The other guests seemed to really enjoy fishing with Sean and Wyatt and Wayne. Francine and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. Sitting on the cabin porch after a day of fishing followed by a shower in the clean, cozy cabin is a true joy. Having “Happy Hour” (BYOB) with wonderful hors d’oeurves and getting to mingle with the other guests is great. We made some great new friends. Forrester’s provides a wonderful lodge experience as the backdrop to some of the best fly fishing you can ever encounter.

Peaceful and ,relaxing environment.Food was outstanding! I did not fish. My husband did. There are no shops or restaurants in Fort Smith. Which is not a big problem , just a need to know . We arrived in the area a day early in our RV.Fortunately we had sandwich fixings. It is a great place with no distractions! Francine and all the staff were pleasant , accommodating and helpful. Oh and the artisan spring water that flows from the faucet is amazing!

We (son and I) had the very best of everything one could expect. Beautiful location, amazing food and staff, and a cabin totally relaxing and comfortable. Knowing there was immanent weather the owners even arranged a hanger in Hardin to protect my son's plane and it was really needed. Tough fishing due to moss but our guide did his guide stuff and we worked hard and caught magnificent rainbows and browns. And hats off to the sandwiches provided for lunch on the river. Worth every penny as you get what you pay for. God Bless em'. Too short!!

I went to Forrester's Bighorn River Resort expecting beautiful scenery and to learn how to fly fish. Those expectations were absolutely met but I hadn't thought a lot about the accommodations or the food. The comfort of the resort and the friendliness of the staff was a beautiful surprise. From the friendly welcome to the genuine hug that Francine gave us upon departure I felt at home the whole time. The biggest surprise however was the cuisine, yes gourmet cuisine. Every meal that we had there was surprisingly delicious. Even the "box lunch" contained a quality sandwich that would be served at a restaurant and we got to enjoy it on the Bighorn River. I went there to enjoy fishing and scenery and discovered much more. If you get a chance to go up there I recommend it highly.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with the necessary paperwork, licenses, and guides. We dropped our bags off in our cabins and dad gave lessons to his daughter. Afterwards we headed up for a cigar and appetizers. Dinner was a multicourse, locally sourced, culinary delight. Frank, head chef is awesome and Paul is impeccable. My wife stayed in the cabin and enjoyed the peace and serenity while we enjoyed Sean, Wyatt and Tyrell's guidance for trout. The 1st day, all bows over 20 inches. On the last day, Stella, hauled in a 20+ inch bow as the boat was pulling up to leave, in front of a slew of waders, who applauded and cheered. An experience she will never forget. Thank you Sean, Wyatt, and Francine for the wonderful care and love you gave us. Unforgettable. See you next year.

The experience at Forrester’s Bighorn River Resort could not have been better. Francine and her staff could not have been more welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The main lodge and cabins were comfortable with beautiful views of the Bighorn River. All of the meals were exceptional and beautifully presented —very gourmet and delicious! Our fishing guide, Chris, was personable and very knowledgeable and fun to be with. We caught beautiful fish. We enjoyed the entire experience and the other guests. 5 stars across the board. Thank you, Francine, Paul and Chris. Tee and Hope Parker Charleston,SC

I was given the opportunity to visit Forrester’s on a last minute trip. Everything was top notch! Spent 4 nights and 3 days fishing. Food was mind blowing. Staff was incredible! Guide was patient (and my first time fly fishing) and worked his butt off for us. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. If you’re still debating, let this review seal the deal. Hats off to a well run lodge and outfitter!

Start to finish rustic luxury on the Big Horn. 5 star meals (truly exceptional) and hospitality that pairs equally with its world class fly fishing. Cabins quiet, private, bed comfortable and extremely relaxing front porch. Will recommend without hesitation. We can’t wait to return. Thanks again Francine and everyone at Forrester’s!

We spent a few days at Forrester's this Summer and can't overstate how great a time we had. We've stayed at other fishing-focused lodges and Forrester's is top notch! The cabin, views, food, fishing, guides, and owners (Francine and Nick) are extraordinary. We caught lots of fish, ate like royalty, shared stories, had some great laughs, and laid the foundation for our next visit. We can't wait to come back!

Forrester's is absolutely the best choice when you're visiting the Big Horn. The view from the bluff is incredible, the food is outstanding, everyone at the lodge is wonderful, and our guides had us catching over twenty fish per boat, for 5 straight days!

Francine & Nick are excellent host and very organized. Accommodations great, location great, food prepared by excellent chef and staff. Fishing guides great and knew what hatches & flies were current for the day. River flow based on the dam's discharge can effect the trouts mood. Caught 15 the first day, 4 Rainbow 11 browns.

We were at the resort last August, and the intervening time has given me a chance to really ponder our experience there. What I'm most interested in mentioning is the food, but first I should mention some things more generally. I hope this is timely if you are now planning a trip later in the year. In short, everything is phenomenal. The lodge building and the cabins are as cool-rustic, conveniently modern, and comfortable as you could imagine....rustic structures, comfortable furnishings, excellent wifi, and clean modern bathrooms. Equally as cool as the cabins, the lodge building has a great lobby, meeting space, convenient gear sales, and the dining area. The resort property is near a small, mostly seasonal community which is rather remote from Billings (where our commercial airplane landed.) The setting is quiet and peaceful. The local fishing and hunting guides are rated experts and the process the resort uses to match clients with guides is utterly seamless. And the guides are able to work with all client skill levels, including zero experience (me.) Now for the food. There is none finer. I would go stay there again for several days just for the cooking. When we were there, I would head to breakfast early for a round of the fresh homemade yogurt, local honey, and fresh berries. Then, after that, breakfast per se was an event all its own. Every meal, including the box lunches prepared for the days of outings, was exquisite. A few months following our trip to the resort, we had the opportunity to eat at many fine places on a trip to Europe. While that food was great, nothing quite rose to the same level of taste and creativity as the meals prepared by the kitchen at the resort. And we caught several big trout. :)

Great location as it relates to getting on and off the river. Cabins were very nice, with good bathrooms and large beds. Highlight of the trip was the quality and range of the food, as well as great guides. I've organized a lot of fishing trips, and my trip to Forrester's was easier than any of them - I booked the lodge, then did next to nothing. Turns out, they know how to take care of people, fishing and appetites.
