Wow! Where do I begin? We spent 3 days at Flat Creek for a birthday celebration, along with several of our closest friends (9 in total I believe). We stayed in one of the large houses on the ponds across from the smaller cabins, and were SSSOOOOOOO comfortable. When we arrived, we were issued keys to our golf carts so that we could get around the compound and were driven by van from the main parking area to the house. The driver, Chris I believe, was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the lands that encompass Flat Creek. Upon entering the house, there were fresh fruits and cheeses, along with our favorite bottles of wine chilling (which the staff had to locate and then go get). Someone had already opened the house up and gotten the air turned on (thank goodness) because it was in the dead of summer. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfy and stress free. Our meals were always wonderful, and the atmosphere was almost other worldly. You almost feel as if you are in an entirely different country behind those gates. A country of beauty, comfort, indulgence, and relaxation. I would definitely suggest a massage at the spa and then a dip in the hot tub. Afterwards, you can go to the BEAUTIFUL Japanese Bath House and relax in the cold plunge pool or take an aromatherapy bath in the claw foot tubs. Mind you, clothing is optional, so you may see more than you expected. All in all, our trip was amazing and I was very upset when we had to leave. The billiards room was much fun, and the fornicating opossums were quite a conversation piece. I would also suggest going to the shooting range and gong to the armory in the process to pick out your weapons of choice! Mrs. Kathy and Mrs. Martha took great care of us, as well as the rest of the Flat Creek Staff. Thank you Flat Creek for a wonderful and much needed getaway. Until next time! Ben -Swainsboro, GA

We just got back from a weekend here. It was the BEST trip we have taken in a long time! We had no clue what to expect when we booked the place. After reading some of the reviews, we thought it could go either way. When we got there we checked in to our lodge room. It was a perfect room for a couple. The decor was so unique and very fitting for a lodge. It was clean and very cozy. Our lodge room opened up to a long covered porch that over looked the lake. Wooden rocking chairs and tables allowed us to just sit and enjoy watching the ducks in the water. We rented a golf cart for our stay and spent alot of our time just riding around the property looking at the different types of wildlife and nature. It was perfect. We spent most of 1 day at the "beach"...an area with sand, a gazeebo, changing rooms and again, just us and nature. We took floats and just relaxed in the water for hours. We ate both nights in the dining room. We had steak, crab legs, gator, grilled veggies, cheescake, pork skins....everything!! The food was amazing!!! The service was excellent all weekend...from the check in, to the waitresses, to the house keeping...they all went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I saw a review somewhere that said there wasnt alot of staff on the property and the reviewer thought that was a bad thing. That had to be the best part to us! There were plenty of staff available, but they left you along and let you do your own thing. If you needed something, all you had to do was ask! All the other facilities were great...the spa, fitness room, game room, etc. There were alot of people staying the weekend, but it was such a big place you barely ran into anyone. We had alot of privacy to relax and enjoy ourselves. Overall, if you are looking for a couples getaway thats laid backed and quiet....I HIGHLY recommend this place! It was good to get away from the tvs and phones and chaos for a few days. I would give this place 10 stars if i could!!!

My family (party of 12) had reservations for 6:30 pm on 5\21\2016. When we entered dining area we had to wait on our table for about 20 minutes and we were surprised to see it was 2 fold out tables like ones used at garage sales. The tables weren't clean when we were escorted to them. We sat down at table which didn't have table linens (were brought out and spread on tables by reaching over us. We ordered our meals and about an hour later we received our meals. My sister which order was taken 1st didn't get her meal until after all 11 of us had eaten their meals. When we went to soup and salad bar their was no soup and very little lettuce. I personally ordered a T Bone steak medium well and when I cut into it, it was raw. I looked at the little stick to make sure it said medium well and it did. My wife complained to waitress and she said she would take it back, but we declined and told her we would finish cooking it at the house. While sitting at table waiting on food to be prepared we received drinks but no rolls or bread. My son asked for some and it was brought out. It was delicious. The only problem was the butter in the prepackaged containers was melted and when you opened them the butter went flying. This was a problem because we hadn't received any napkins yet, which my mother had asked for when we first sat down at tables (nearly an hour later). The food that was prepared correctly for my family was delicious but we were very disappointed in the service. I'm not talking about the waitresses primarily. Disappointed with the type table, not being set properly,no napkins, no ice in our drinks when refilled, no extra dishes removed from table, an hour is way to long to wait for your meal, different members of family were served at different times compared to all of us receiving our meals together,no salt at table, steak sauce bottle at table empty and again my steak not fixed correctly.Normally I'm not a complainer but this was with out a doubt the worst dining experience I have ever had. We expected a lot more because of the testimonials we saw on your website and word of mouth.I feel bad about this message but I witnessed the family next to us bless out the person in charge about the lack of service he received also.

The food has improved as well as the prices coming down, but... A group of us went to eat there this week end, and a "Resort fee" was added onto our dinners. Now, we did not stay in the resort, just had dinner, and according to the Federal Trade Commission, added fees such as this, MUST be clearly listed with any published pricing. The local newspaper showed a full page ad of their $19.99 buffet, but no mention of this added fee. This will definitely hurt their restaurant business in this small community. We all enjoyed the dinner, as it was all very good, but left upset after learning as paying, that our bill was "padded" without prior notice. Felt taken advantage of.

My sister and I purchased a Groupon for the Flat Creek Lodge and just returned from and awesome weekend getaway. We had NO idea what to expect we were pleasantly surprised. The staff and accommodations were out of this world! We had the Raccoon Room which was wonderful! The decor was awesome and very comfortable. We are not really "out door" types of girls but for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city it was just what we needed. From the minute we pulled in we were impressed. Gary met us at our car and checked us in. He walked us to our room and filled us in on everything we needed to know. It was quiet and beautiful. You walk out the back door and the lake is right there with a beautiful sunset. They had coffee waiting for you right outside your room every morning. The dining hall was amazing. Wonderful menu and service. Everyone was so friendly and personable. We also had facials done at the spa and enjoyed the sauna and hot tub! Excellent! I just can't rave enough about this hidden gem. The cheese was amazing too! They have over 2000 acres and you can hunt and fish. They had a game room with pool, a bar, tv's and board games. The grounds where well kept and had an awesome fire pit area too. We had awesome fall like weather which made sitting on the porch that much more enjoyable. You could also rent a golf cart to drive arrive the property. We passed on this bc we just wanted to relax and lay low. But we can't thank you enough for the awesome weekend! Definitely check out the Flat Creek Lodge! You will NOT be disappointed!

This was suppose to be a great fishing vacation for my huband and me which we used a Groupon. The property looks like it needs work. Don't let the pretty pictures fool you like it did me.To pay the money they charge and what you get out of it is ridiculous(the normal rate per night is like $190 or so for a room). I think some people mixed up "relaxing" to it being boring.I have more fun tent camping by a lake then here.FYI don't take the kids. they will be sooooo disappointed. The beach is over runned by grass and so far to go to get there, like a 10 minute walk. If you want to do fishing or hunting which is why anyone would come here..... then get your wallet out. Just about everything you do here they charge. The Assistant Manager could care less about customer service even if it was the only thing to keep a guest coming back, she's the older lady at the front desk. I expressed disappointed in receiving our cheese and wine 3 hours later when I had first asked. Her reply "the kitchen dropped the ball on that one". We asked for wine to be delivered to our room. 20-30 minutes later nothing came and we told her to cancel because it never came she said "ok thank you". Wow really that's how much you care? I mentioned about there only being one little pond that guest can fish out of and then charging $60 per person to fish out of the other 17 ponds they have. Her reply" it's stated in the Groupon fine print that guest have access to one catfish pond and the other ponds there is a fee". I didn't find anywhere in the fine print stating that. What I found was this..."Some activities are complimentary, but others—including guided hunts, gear rentals, bass fishing, paintballing, and skeet shooting—cost extra." That doesn't tell me you can only fish out of one "little" pond. To me that is very deceiving. I would have NEVER bought this Groupon here if I would have known that. Again the whole point to come here was to fish. The last disappointment was about the stocked bait that should of been stocked, but the gentleman would not get bait until the next day. Her reply "sorry, please fill out a comment and suggestion sheet for the owners to know about the issues and bring it by when you check out.". So there you have it. What a let down, happy to say we will not be returning or recommending this place.
