Wow, wow, wow. We just had the hunting and hospitality experience of a lifetime up at the C4 Ranch and lodge. Everything from the dining to the guided hunts was amazing! The views alone are incredible but when you mix in the relaxed atmosphere and incredible dining, well it just can't get any better. The area is LOADED with game. Bear, elk, deer, turkey and every single kind of upland bird you can imagine in addition to the available quality fishing. The C4 Ranch does everything right, really everything. If a guided big game or bird hunt is on your list you really have to give the C4 Ranch a try. Read the other reviews here, I really can't add anything to what has already been written. Amazing properties and people. I've been hunting the C4 for over 15 years going back to 2010 when I got my first whitetail there. Just got back from an epic elk hunt. Successful for all. We got our bulls a day early and had time for an awesome jet boat excursion in Hell's Canyon. Caught a ton of small mouth and trout. The guides and the hosts really know what they're doing, including ---importantly--- management of the habitat and populations year-round. It's clear they have invested in the long term success of the ranch for generations to come. The lodge itself is spectacular overlooking the Salmon River with incredible taxidermy from North America and Africa. Highly recommended all around.

I have hunted at C-4 ranch and lodge 3 times now and have to say it is the best ever. Not only do they have the terrain for the animals, but the guides and personal service are beyond reproach. The guides were exceptional in every way. Their knowledge of the terrain is what made our hunts so successful. The staff's professionalism and attention to every detail were second to none. All of the hunts were successful, and the convenience of getting the animals processed nearby was tremendous. The lodge itself is like a home, with dedicated rooms and home cooked meals everyday. We had an amazing time at the C4 Lodge! My wife said it was one of the best vacations we have taken. This was our first guided hunt, and every expectation we had was exceeded. The ranch property is huge and filled with wildlife; there were deer and elk everywhere we looked. I’ve never seen so many elk in my life, even in Yellowstone. Once species of wildlife was not present…no mosquitoes! It was very wet during our spring hunt, and we did not see one biting fly or mosquito. We saw 24 bears in five days, and many more on game cameras from various bait stations. At least half of the the bears we saw were color phase, with a large portion of them being blonde. We harvested a large blonde boar on the last day, and could not be happier with our trophy. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous, and each guest suite is equipped with its own private bath. The facilities are nothing short of five star, complete with a media room as well as a great room with a display of mounted animals that makes any Cabela’s store look junior varsity. The C4 ranch is run by an amazing staff. We had gourmet meals prepared daily, with breakfast and dinner in the lodge and a packed lunch to eat while out hunting. The guides were incredibly experienced and knowledgeable, and did everything possible to make our hunt successful. Judging bears is difficult, and their experienced eyes were an invaluable resource. The hunt was exceptionally well managed at every step, catering to our specific desires. The facilities, the properties, and the staff were all top notch. We are looking forward to our next visit!

In 2017, I was looking for a close, safe quality place I could take my kids for their first cow elk hunt. I did a lot of research and after many frustrating web searches, emails and phone calls I found the C4 Ranch and Lodge. I emailed the ranch and to my surprise and delight, I received a phone call from Jim, the owner. We had a great conversation discussing the ranch and all the amenities included. I booked the first hunt for mid-December 2018. The kids just completed their fourth successful hunt and we’ve already inquired for 2022. Every year the kids have their own guide, leading us through some of the most beautiful country Idaho has to offer. If you’re willing to put in the effort, you’ll see more animals than you can imagine. Along with the quality hunting, you’ll stay in one of the most impressive hunting lodges imaginable. You wake up each morning to filling home cooked breakfast and sent off with a packed lunch and snacks. Ending the day, you’ll come back to a first class meal, a roaring fire and beverages of your choice. Horrible experience with C4 Ranch. Waited two years for an elk hunt. Spent $12500 for the trip. Became sick the day prior and could not travel. Not able to reschedule let alone get at least a partial refund. The ranch had nothing to say except sorry you were sick but you missed it. They were happy to take the money and run with it even though they provided no services. Then no response from there on. Sad ranch who cares about $$$ and not the customer. Immoral group given current Covid and pandemic limitation hitting people worldwide.

Best hunting ranch I have ever been at for both hunting and personal entertainment. Jim, Glenna and the entire staff were wonderful and made you feel right at home. Stayed 4 days for an Elk Hunt and it was an incredible experience. The time and effort put in by everyone was above and beyond my expectations. Saw hundreds of elk along with bear and mule deer. On day two, sealed the deal with a beautiful 5x6 bull elk. Day three I was able to enjoy some river boat fishing and horse back riding through the country side. Highly recommend everyone to experience the outdoors one way or another at C4 Ranch and Lodge. You will not regret this choice!
