Bull Basin Outfitters provide a truly first-class experience in every aspect. Richie and his guides are honest, hard-working, down-to-earth people, and are passionate about elk hunting. I had always wanted to hunt elk, and three years ago, on the advice of a friend, I chose Bull Basin. I showed up with little to no knowledge about archery elk hunting, and a desire to learn. They have graciously shared and taught me more about this endeavor than I ever expected. Their knowledge extends to details regarding archery equipment, elk behavior, hunting, discipline, conservation, and more. I have hunted with them for three seasons, and look forward to more in the future. I have had multiple opportunities at very nice bulls each year. Put in the time and effort required, practice, be confident in your shooting ability, and you will most likely be successful here. Elk Hunting is a process that takes hard work and dedication; you will simply not find a better outfit to help make you a better, more educated, and successful hunter, regardless of your experience level.

Hunted here in November 2022. I saw hundred of mule deer, and elk. Plus a moose, coyotes, eagles, Turkey, grouse. Weather was a mix of snow then sunshine. Outfitter is great. I saw a few shooters, and lots of up and coming deer. It was a fun hunt.

Hunt of a life time (gun, first week of Nov)! Four hunters, four great bulls. Each hunter has a guide. Richie, Ed, Dustin and Robert all worked as a team. When one hunter tagged out, that guide moved over to help another guide / hunter. At the end of the week, all four guides (and remaining hunters) worked to help the last hunter tag out. Guides know the property and how the elk travel, so upped our odds. They are hunters with years of experience working with people of all levels of experience. Truly professional, knowledgeable, safe, and fun. Jamie took great care of us to ensure we had incredible meals morning through evening. Accommodations were five star, each hunter has a large room, king bed, and bath. Views are even better! Special thank you to the Sokol family for allowing hunters to stay in their home and trusting Ed and Richie with care of their property (20k and 5k acre ranches). Lots of elk! Day-1 we saw upwards of 800 in multiple herds. Actually had a herd of 300 come by the house first thing that morning, bugling and calling, with owls hooting all around. Saw plenty of elk every day. The e-bikes were a huge time saver and loads of fun getting to our hunting area each day. I highly recommend this team!

The week we hunted there was honestly one of the best weeks of my life. We all had so much fun hunting all day and hanging out at the lodge at night! Not to mention the cabin we stayed in was so modern, beautiful, and cozy! Richie was so helpful and patient with me, I could never thank him enough! He helped make sure my rifle was sited in perfectly and I was comfortable and ready to hunt. It was beautiful country and I ended up getting my first elk ever! This is my second time to visit Bull Basin and Richie. By far the best experience I have ever had. Hunt 1- Ed was awesome. Understood my physical limitations as I am a disabled vet. Put a cow in my sights and let me do my job. Thanks Ed!! Hunt 2- Bucket list item filled to take a Bull with my bow. Richie pushed me to my limits. Taught me more in 5 days than I have learned in a lifetime.
