I've never experienced a ruder staff EVER. They refused to sell me a fishing permit (which they can most certainly do) just because I wasn't staying at "Their" lodge. Then the lady who was working lied and told me that I'd have to go to Union City to get one when not even 2 miles away there are 3 places to buy a license!!! I came here on the first vacation I've had in 5+ years, and I was treated as "less than" because I didn't stay at their establishment... They had no problem taking my money when I bought merchandise from them though... I would highly recommend avoiding that place like the plague! Literally everyone else I've encountered are gracious and kind. They are a blight on an amazing lake.

Let's start with I was concerned about the trip with the mixed extremes of the reviews posted on various sites. Although Yelp is a scam, I know this as I manage a business. With those two points being established let's begin the review. We arrived an hour earlier than check-in, the room was ready so there were absolutely no problems there. Paid cash to avoid the 3.5% fee that seems to be included on all transactions, that is anywhere in that area, as there was a cash and card option on every purchase. The Room we had was 220, which was like a big dorm room with two beds on regular bed frames and two beds on rolling metal frames under the beds. We had 4 men we made it work. Wasn't the most comfortable night's sleep but I have had worse. The bathroom was clean for the most part, other than the giant hair ball on top of the drain in the shower. None of us have long hair and it was crusted onto the drain, so it had been there a while. After unpacking the vehicle, we headed to the dock to get our boat for fishing. All the boats were older with 8 HP outboard motors. Our motor had algae and weeds growing on it, so you know they are constantly in the water. The water level is extremely low right now as the boats were sitting 2-3 feet below the dock level. Getting in and out of the boats took a little getting used to but was manageable. The dock hands were friendly and handed out a sufficient amount of bait for the day. They were somewhat knowledgeable, however the dock hands directed everyone to the same areas to fish. Once out on the lake motoring around, it was like a mine field of stumps under the water. with the lake being so low numerous stumps that were not marked became obstacles making the trip rather bumpy. The staff does offer boat insurance to purchase, I would highly recommend that, as a boat lost its motor during our stay. With the 8 HP motors and stump filled waters, getting anywhere on the lake took quite some time. Especially if it was windy, the lake gets really rough very quickly. The fishing was well below what was expected. I am an avid fisher; I caught fish just not what was expected. Generally, we caught freshwater drum (sheepshead) and small catfish. I was the only one in the group to catch a crappie (15") and we as a group caught a few large bluegills. Yes, the guides were there taking people out catching coolers full of fish, however this was another expense. After talking to people that went out with the guides, they were going to opposite areas that the dock hands were steering people. Plus, the amount of tackle that was snagged and lost was ridiculous. I was more frustrated and irritated than anything. I understand it's fishing not catching, but overall, it did not meet nowhere near the expectations. The restaurant on site was good, however be warned there are a bunch of feral cats that roam the deck outside as you eat and beg for food. Someone in our group was severely allegoric to cats and asked the wait staff to get rid of the cats. The dock shooed them away, but they kept returning. Overall, for the price, I found the food a good value. The service was a little slower than I was used to but, we were in the south, and time seemed to be more relaxed. This is definitely a one and done experience for me. In all honesty, I could have saved a lot of time and money, driven somewhere closer and had better results.

If I could give it a ZERO I would. I booked a reunion event with this place for a group of friends who have been friends since second grade, 60 years. We spent over $2300.00 for the Sunday through Thursday package. At check in we unfortunately spilled a cooler in the room. I immediately went got the front desk and alerted them that we would need a cleanup. upon our arrival from fishing, we caught one fish, the water had been untouched. I again went to the front desk and asked for a mop and a bucket. Two mops appeared but no bucket to ring out the mops, so we had to wring the mops out in the shower by pressing them with our shoes. The water was black with filth. The rooms were filthy and smelly as we were next to the bait room. Someone had left strong scented candles to mask the smell. Poorly maintained equipment was noted. One day we were pull out and my friends boat lost an engine due to it not being tight to the transom. Just popped off as he hit many of the stumps in the lake. The water was about three feet low per staff. The hot tub had non functional nozzles making it uncomfortable and unless. It was also bug filled. Get a damn cover. One day I waited 35 minutes for bait because the dock hand left to get his knives to clean fish for another client, leaving everyone else waiting. I talked with a fellow fisherman who had contracted a guide, who took them to another lake, catching a cooler full of fish. Last day a huge COCKROACH appeared on our bed. When I complained, the manager, I believe it was a son of the owner, stated, "Then DONT come back". I accept this redheads proposal, I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND, NOR GO TO THE BLUE BANK RESORT again. You too should stay away from this little slice of H.E.L.L.

Disappointing trip. Came with high expectations which were quickly dashed. 10 men fishing over a 2 1/2 day period caught only a few fish. Guides were not quality. Just wanted the time to pass and collect their money is the best description I can give.

I booked for 4 a year ago and explained that I am handicapped,I walk with a walker and sometimes a cane and need an ADA compliant room, and then I called two weeks ago to confirm, they told me they had a room for me. We drive 600 miles to get here and the total was in the $2400 range for the week for 4....we checked in Sunday and to my disbelief they do not offer ADA compliant rooms at all..no walk in shower but instead a step over tub(not easy for the Handicapped) when we got our boat we found out they do not have ADA access for the boats either...no hand rails of any kind just flat boardwalk style docks. I asked about it and was told "yeah somebody else just left because they can't use the boats here"... The fishing on the lake is not what we are led to believe on the web page...if you do not hire the guides they offer don't expect any fish...we drove to neighboring lakes to catch our fish from shore... exactly what I thought I would get for the price paid to get here and to stay here..I could have stayed at home for a hell of a lot less and fished from shore...notice the only catches you see online come from guided boats. It is what it is...do your homework before you book here is all I am saying...as for the ADA compliance,I am pretty sure it is the law even in Tennessee for HC compliance but that is a conversation for my attorney to have..the staff have been very nice and the rooms are sort of clean but we will not be back ever again... complete waste of our time and money.. definitely a disappointment.

A must stop. Great place to stay , eat dinner or just hang out at the bar. We go here alot. Update 4 years later. Went at lunch and had great service and food. Went for dinner tonight. Got seated and waited 20 min and no one came and got are drink order or food, so we left. The table next to us did the same.

Came to the restaurant for lunch after the funeral of a family member. We were seated for 1 hour before our orders were taken, another 45 minutes to receive our food. I ordered a truffle burger. It was horrid. It was way too salty, had a piece of cheese and nothing else. The bun was the best part. Everyone else's food looked mediocre, at best. Stick with catfish, y'all. Once our server got rolling, she really hustled. I felt she was embarrassed over how slow the service was. Save your time and money and do not go.

Phenomenal first trip. Wonderful people. Phenomenal service. Friendly staff.

Been a while back but I had to post. We reserved a room for the family that was perfect in every way. Kitchenette and all; perfect. But we didn't know it was upstairs and that couldn't work for everyone. They immediately hooked us up with the first floor full access unit. Good people

the website is very informative and easy to navigate. however, I want to book a stay but the website does not have ANY pictures of hotel rooms or if and how many bedrooms. the cabins and suites have no pictures of layout or number of bedrooms ect. I just dont like booking vacations sight unseen.
★★☆☆☆
Server was rude. The waitress had an awful attitude towards us this evening. Did not receive our salad. Took forever for a drink refill. I do not recommend this place to anyone wanting a good meal and good service
★★★☆☆
We stayed in the cabin part this time..normally we stay in the hotel part but decided on a cabin. Our first cabin did not have outlets to accommodate my husband's cpap machine and the heat was space heaters. We went to the desk and they switched us to the suite cabin next door which was some better however the floors were rolling and there was black mold on the door of the bathroom. The view of the lake is awesome but the cabins are strictly for the hunters and fishermen.
★★★☆☆
If you're looking for a getaway on the lake in cabins with amazing food this is the perfect spot, but if you're looking to fish and to catch fish, this is not the place to go, there are hundreds of stamps in the water which makes it almost impossible to fish. You won't see any boats, because boaters will tear they both up. I am a adamant fisherman and was extremely disappointed.

No-frills room. Only coffee provided. Come for the lake...fishing and the fabulous views.

This place is amazing. Great Lake side cabins.

Room was full of bugs, not clean, cobwebs in corners, spiders on bed and in bathroom, had reservation for 2 nights, left after 1, mgr could care less, would not recommend.

This is not the place to do a couples getaway. We tried the Lake Package for my husbands birthday and was very disappointed. Booked months in advance. We had to remind them the entire weekend on what was included in the package. Two night stay, two meals, sunset boat ride, two tickets to Discovery Park and a bottle of wine with Charcuterie Board. They forgot everything. Restaurant closed for private party Friday night and was treated that we were the problem. Restaurant overbooked Saturday night and turning people away. Asked multiple times about boat ride finally was told to be on dock at 6pm. No one picked us up. Again back to front desk to see what happened. Forgot about us. Found a teen to take us out on his dad's boat, boat broke down. When checking out reminded them of Discovery Park tickets, wine, and Charcuterie Board. Gave us everything to go. The cheese and meats were molded. May be a good place for men to fish but not a place for couples.

We went over for the day to have a meal at the restaurant on Saturday September 27th. The meal was great and our waitress was absolutely awesome. After paying for our meal and tipping our waitress very well for her service, we proceeded to the gift shop. Nothing was priced and we asked the lady at the register was everything free because nothing was priced. She had a an attitude about us asking that question. We also ask her about the rooms to rent and she said they were for hunting and fishing only. She was more interested in watching her phone propped up against her computer instead of what we had to say. FYI We are Western Kentucky outfitters, we are very familiar with hunting and fishing but, your lady at the counter did not have a clue. Our whole experience at your resort was a thumbs down because of the lady in your gift shop!!!!!!!

All I can say is while I loved every minute of it going back next weekend

If I could give the room a negative 50 million stars I would. Who in the entire hell is cleaning these rooms? The mirror and sink was nasty and had old toothpaste from the last person spattering toothpaste every where . The bathtub was the size of a shoe box. It had rings around it as well. The fridge has old drink rings and crumbs in it. The ceiling had paint peeling and cracks. It smelled of cat piss and naughty pine. The Rodeo Inn was a 5 star compared to this place. You mean to tell me they have all of this money and can’t upgrade the rooms?! Never again! The people calling this place “comfy” must be use to sleeping on 1-ply sheets because there is NO way this place was comfortable. The service was 5 star though.
