I had an outstanding mountain goat hunting experience with AEI Outfitters and was fortunate to harvest a goat with 9-inch horns. From start to finish, AEI’s operation was professional and exceptionally well run. On the first day, the team assisted with fine-tuning my scope to ensure it was properly sighted in. The food was excellent and plentiful throughout the trip.
My guide, Leche, was exceptional—highly skilled at spotting goats and consistently positioning me for a successful harvest. I would confidently recommend AEI Outfitters to anyone seeking a first-class mountain goat hunting experience.

They scout the unit year round and during hunting season, so you will hunt where there are game. The accommodations are top notch with a kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner each day. You won't be disappointed!

I had a great 2025 mule deer hunting experience with AEI Outfitter. The conditions for the 3rd rifle season weren't great. No snow in the high country and the rutting activity was just getting started. I can't say enough good things about my guide Jackson. He worked his butt off for me. I was successful in filling my tag. Lewie and his crew were wonderful.

Amazing goat hunt! Definitely once in a lifetime and my guides were the best ever. The base camp feels like a second home, the hike in (although a definite workout) was beautiful and the hunt was all I could have asked for. I was included in the glassing, finding an animal we wanted to try for and ultimately getting a shot. The effort the guides put in to get a 66 year old man up that mountain was a class in motivation and ended in a successful hunt. The trip back to camp was all smiles and when we hit base camp, everyone celebrated the hunt. I can’t recommend these folks enough!

Choosing to hunt with AEI was no disappointment! Truly a trip of a lifetime for a Midwest whitetail hunter. This was a bucket list hunt for my dad and I. A hunt that we have always dreamed of doing and finally reached a point in life where it was possible. All that to say AEI did a great job preparing us for having realistic expectations. These are all free range elk on public land that anyone can hunt. This was not just a hunt but a true experience of a lifetime. To hunt with seasoned elk hunters who all know the land and the area like the back of their hand and worked their tails to get you an opportunity at a legal bull was the full true elk hunting experience. The accommodations were above and beyond not only in the field but at camp. The meals, lodging, guides and the pack out crews were all top notch as well. Camp was a true family atmosphere. Everyone talked with you and wanted to hear about each days hunt whether you had success or not. They truly wanted to see you have success but more than that they wanted you to have a great experience and that was obvious! They certainly delivered and killing my first elk was icing on the cake!

Lewie Foltz runs a totally professional outfitting guide service at AEI. His accommodations were very comfortable, and even took into account that my hunt was a third season November, hunt, which could potentially be in severe weather conditions. His cook, Joey is good enough to be working at a five-star restaurant in my opinion. His meals were varied, and totally nutritious every day. (I think I even gained weight on the hunt.) Lewie’s guides we’re all outstanding. They had complete knowledge of the area we were hunting, and worked together continually, even though they were guiding one on one. My guide, Alan has amazing eyesight, and uses his optics extremely well to locate wildlife at very long distances. Additionally, he had my best interest in mind in everything he did. Overall, I would unhesitatingly recommend Alan and Lewie’s entire operation to anyone wanting a five star guided hunt.

It would be hard to overstate how happy I was with my third season mule deer hunt in unit 54. My guide, Cody, knew the unit intimately and had us into deer every day in spite of challenging hunting conditions, and I was able to take a nice 4X4 buck. Perhaps the most impressive thing to me was the way the guides shared information and helped each other and their clients. Once a guide's hunter was successful, he would help spot for other guides' clients and, after a deer was down, any guides in the vicinity would pitch in to help get it field dressed and off the mountain.
"Camp" was a well-maintained house in Gunnison and we slept warm and cozy every night. The meals were absolutely superb - far and away the best I have ever had in a hunting camp. I highly recommend Lewie and AEI Outfitters!

Thanks to AEI for a great rut deer hunt. We had a father + sons hunt and AEI took great care of us. They know the area very well, and are diligent at glassing to find the bigger bucks. The guides worked hard to help us find nice deer and close in on them. The whole crew showed high integrity, strong work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile. Nice meals too. I’d hunt again with AEI for sure.

Myself and my wife were given a half day trip with AEI Outfitters for our honeymoon. My wife was always intimidated by the fly rod and usually just left it to me. We met Louie (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) early that morning and he was able to cover the basics for her and she was making good short casts in no time. In only a half day, not only did she learn how to make a basic cast, she caught a few rainbow trout. We had a blast and will never forget the trip. Thank you Louie for everything. You’re a great and patient teacher, and answered all the questions we had. I will absolutely recommend AEI Outfitters to anyone looking for a day on the water!
