What Is the Most Expensive Buffalo Hunting Package in Tennessee?

What $5,995 actually buys

That's a flat price, not a day rate and not a per-person rate split across a group — one hunter, one bull, three days. Goodman Ranch's own listed inclusions cover the guide, lodging, meals and a game cooler to store the meat. It doesn't need a Tennessee hunting license either way: this is a pen-reared, private-preserve hunt, and Tennessee's rule for that kind of hunt (Tenn. Code Ann. § 70-4-413) exempts it from the state license requirement entirely. What it doesn't list is meat processing or taxidermy — budget for both separately if you want the head on a wall.

The bigger number belongs to a different hunt

You'll find a $23,995 figure attached to this same ranch. It's real, and it's a multi-species package — thirteen animals on one menu, including deer, sheep, water buffalo, elk and bison, priced as one blended range for however many trophies a hunter takes across a multi-day trip. The listing's own photo is a ram, not a bison. Book the buffalo hunt by itself, at the same ranch, and the price is $5,995.

How far outside normal that is

Eight of Tennessee's ten buffalo packages carry a real price. The middle of them is $4,225. Three-quarters run $4,624 or less. Nine in ten run $5,295 or less, and $5,995 is the only package that clears that line — a real record, not a typical price with a decimal moved.

Who's selling it

Goodman Ranch holds both the record and a solid review base — 4.8 stars across 68 reviews. Standing Rock Hunting Lodge, out of Jamestown, holds the two cheapest rungs at $3,000 and $4,000 on a thinner base, 5.0 stars across 15 reviews. Wilderness Hunting Lodge (Monterey, 4.5 stars, 140 reviews) and Bridgecreek Farms (Clarkrange, 4.9 stars, 54 reviews) each sell a matched cow-and-bull pair in between, $3,250–$4,450 and $3,500–$4,500. One wrinkle if you're pricing Bridgecreek yourself: its own site also lists "Buffalo $1,250" under taxidermy pricing — that's a mount fee, not a hunt price. Its real buffalo hunt prices are the $3,500 and $4,500 above.

Two of Tennessee's six buffalo ranches don't quote a standalone price at all. Caryonah Hunting Lodge (Crossville, 4.9 stars, 104 reviews) sells buffalo by phone quote only. Clarkrange Hunting Lodge (4.9 stars, 37 reviews) sells it only folded into a multi-species combo hunt (elk, bison, axis deer, red deer and more) with no listed price of its own — the same shape as Goodman Ranch's Guidefitter listing above, just at a different ranch and without Guidefitter's number attached.

What the ranch folds in at that price

Lodging comes with all ten Tennessee buffalo packages. A guide comes with eight of them, meals with nine. Meat processing shows up on half, taxidermy on four in ten, and license-and-tags bundling — a preserve amenity, not something the state requires here — on three in ten.
