The cheap end and the expensive end are different hunts
A doe or management hunt and a trophy buck hunt often sit on the same outfitter's menu, thousands of dollars apart, because they're different products, not different prices for the same one. Before you compare two outfitters by their headline number, check which of the two you're actually being quoted.
What moves the price inside one hunt type
Weapon and guide ratio still matter — archery and a shared guide cost less than rifle and a guide to yourself — but they explain less of this spread than the doe-versus-trophy split above does. Ask what the animal is before you ask what the rate is.
The license is a separate bill
Wyoming sells the deer license and conservation stamp apart from anything an outfitter charges you, priced on the state's own schedule. Budget for it alongside the guide fee above, not instead of it.

How we rank: Outfitters are ranked by a credibility-weighted rating that blends each outfitter's verified Google star rating with how many reviews back it up — so a strong average from many hunters outranks the same average from only a few — then by the breadth of whitetail deer packages they offer (live inventory, last updated September 2026). Prices, ratings and review counts come straight from each outfitter's current listings — always confirm details before you book.

My husband and I went on a whitetail hunt and were each able to take a great buck…
Cache and his team at Shell Valley are amazing. We had such a great time out there hunting whitetails. Once we tagged out, they made sure to still spend time with us showing us other areas of Wyoming and made sure that we were still enjoying our time there.
