Idaho mountain goat is a controlled-hunt draw through Idaho Fish and Game, and none of the numbers above include it. A resident licence-and-tag package runs about $183.50 to $216.50; a nonresident's runs roughly $2,672.50. You draw the tag before any outfitter's rate applies to you, and it's a separate payment to the state, not to the outfitter.

Ten outfitters, and half won't quote a number up front

Only five of the ten carry a posted price — the rest book by phone once you've drawn a tag or shown real interest. That's normal for a species this thin and this expensive; call more than one before you commit; the ones who do post a number aren't necessarily your only options.
